The whispers had been following Dean all morning. the whispers, the hushed comments, the looks, stares as he walked down the corridor. He hated every minute of it. He loathed being the centre of attention, wasn't even good at being noticed. But he was being noticed today. Him and everyone else that had been on the trip sent to the hospital.

Things had changed round, though Dean couldn't deny he was grateful. Sophie and Oz had been busy in their absence, and then he'd been collected by his cousin at the airport that morning, he'd been told that they'd moved back to the larger house - that it was largely finished, that they'd set the house they'd been staying in off the north edge of town up as a bolt hole, as if had always been envisaged. It was supplied now, stocked up, organised.

Caleb was a little more aware of the time this time when he phoned Dean, sitting in his room staring out the window. He was propped on the sill of it, since it was right there above his bed in the first place, and he was just staring more or less sightlessly out, where things looked really normal. Or, the back yard did, anyways. His mind was on a lot of things, Nic being pretty damn prominent. But, he also just kind of missed Dean being around, and wanted to talk to the guy. Tell him about the magical adventures of running from werewolves he'd missed.

Dean pulled his phone from his pocket as it rang and checked the caller ID, before excusing himself from the room and heading into a quieter part of the house. That was the good thing about Andy's house - it was huge, there was always a quieter part. Somewhere where he could talk to Caleb about whatever he was calling for and not have to worry about being overheard. "Hey mate, what's up?" he asked, sitting down on the stairs, resting his elbows on his knees as he held the phone to his ear.

Caleb had dealt with the Rose phonecall earlier in the day, and generally just wanted to talk to someone that he could say whatever to, and he didn't want to go bother Nic again, and do something stupid like start wearing out his welcome. Also, speaking to another guy? Really warranted right now. So, he was in the living room, feet propped up on the living room windowsill as he sat in the easy chair. Listening to the phone ring in his ear, he wondered what the fuck time it was in England anyways.

What the fuck time it was in England was 'late' and Dean scrambled for the phone, pulling it to his ear and shuffling across the bed as he answered, leaving the sleeping girl behind. "'Lo?" he asked, blinking himself awake in the darkness. He kept his voice low, but didn't whisper - for the benefit of the rest of the house than Thia, who didn't need it.

Caleb had gotten the call from Dean. And he'd been very confused. Because there was in fact, the weirdness of Dean saying he was driving over. And last time Caleb had checked? Dean wasn't in any condition to drive. In fact, he hadn't been in any condition to do anything. He'd been in condition to lay around and do fuck all, because he'd lost a lot of blood and had admittedly poor stitch jobs on deep wounds on his person.

That never made for a good driving situation. And yet, he was on his way over. So, Caleb had agreed that it was fine, no one was home anyways, and he went to wait for his friend on the porch. It didn't take long for him to get there. It was Marquette, nothing took long. But he was blinking at Dean as he saw him get out and walk up the walk like he didn't have the injuries he'd had a few days ago. "...the fuck?"

Caleb was sitting on the grassy hill that lead down to the 'lake'. He was watching spirits down there. Which sounded stupid, but after observing for a few days, that was in fact, the only thing they could be. They were hard to see if you didn't know what you were looking for, but if you did...the little threads of light flowing back and forth, sometimes faces that seemed to drift up towards the surface. It was too quiet around him. Seemed like the wildlife didn't like it here, and he couldn't say he blamed them. He didn't know what had gone down here? But whatever it was had been major. Still...the spirits were oddly beautiful, in a massively fucked up way that probably said all kinds of bad things about him. He was sketching, sort of...capturing faces. It wasn't like he could do anything. He wasn't an exorcist.

Either way, he eventually dug his phone out of his pocket and dialled up Dean, watching one spirit drift closer and closer, seemingly moving with a tide of her own. Definitely a she. He could see long hair streaming out behind her, drifting.

Caleb shoved the packages containing the ID's he'd gotten for Dean beneath the front passenger's side seat, already hitting the speed dial for Dean. He leaned back in said seat, one foot down on the cement floor of the garage, and he was going through his bag to make sure he had what he figured he'd need. Not that that was a whole lot. His other foot bounced on it's own in impatience, as he shoved the keys in the ignition for Dean to find as he waited for an answer from his friend.

"Hiya," Dean said as he clicked connect, leaning slightly on the broom Sophie had given him, with orders to go start cleaning the glass up in the hall now that it seemed clear that the shadows were gone. "How're you? Okay, I hope?" he added, though he was still confident that Caleb would have been just fine.

Dean sat slumped in his chair, art pad open in front of him, his attention focused on that as he drew, filling up the white space, though his mind wasn't really there, not really. His mind was all over the place - still, like it had been all damn weekend. Oz had been right, Oz had been so, so right - he'd completely underestimated what it would take to live in the same house as the girl he had a thing for, especially when she was a cuddly type. But he hadn't expected... He'd started flirting with her, he knew. He didn't mean to, but, occasionally he'd realise that he had been - and that wasn't fair to her, wasn't fair to either of them. He knew why she and Joshua had broken up - even if there was a snowball's chance in hell she might be vaguely interested, which he doubted, now was not the time. Now was the time she needed to get her head straight and find herself and everything that went with that, not to have her best friend, who she trusted, start... But, she'd crawled into bed with him and he couldn't get that image out of his mind. He scribbled out the last drawing he'd done of her and turned the page, welcoming the white blankness again.

Caleb wandered into class a tiny bit late. This was due to the fact that he'd gotten a note tacked to his front door, which had been--weirdly enough--from Lullaby. Who had a request for him. One that, considering his opinion on Dean's love life, he had been more than happy to do. Therefore--lateness. He figured he and Dean should probably get together sometime soon, where it was less public, just to catch up and re-assess, but for now...there was art class. He walked up and dropped down into the chair on the opposite side of the table, eyeing Dean critically. "You look...broody." he observed.

Consciousness was a long time coming for Dean - a result of the medication Sophie had slipped into his drink unbeknownst to him the night before. He swam up from full sleep slowly, muttering and rolling over in bed with an incomprehensible grumble as he buried his head further into the pillows and his arm went round the person next to him, cuddling him up into her back. His head was pounding and he felt all kinds of fuzzy - if he could just go back to sleep again for a couple of hours, that'd be ni...

As agreed, Caleb headed out to the side lawn when lunchtime came around, to meet Dean. Talking during class wasn't the most adviseable thing to do, especially if you wanted to not talk around shit the entire time. And talking in code got tiring really fucking fast. Therefore, whatever. They'd talk where they'd be less likely to be overheard by the mundanes. He sat down, dropping his bookbag down and leaning back against it. He was tired, and wasn't necessarily that pleased about being back in school. Mostly because everyone seemed like walking wounded to him. Like they were all little shock-zombies. Or a lot of them were. It was just weird.

Dean wasn't far behind Caleb, having headed out straight from class and he joined his friend after a moment or two, glancing round to see if there was anyone else nearby - which, thankfully, there wasn't. School today seemed quieter then usual in any event, everyone fairly subdued, shellshocked, really. It wasn't really surprising. "Hey," Dean greeted, quietly, shifting his backpack to root around in it and pull out of bottle of water, taking a sip.

Who: Dean and Caleb
Where: Walking
when: Lunch hour

Dean was exactly where he always was at lunch times - sitting on the side lawn, his bag by his side, rolling an apple between his hands. He figured that Caleb would show - the guy had said that he would, after all - but Dean hoped he wouldn't be long. He'd been thinking all through his morning classes - which he'd gone to, each and every one, getting the notes for Thia as more then for himself - and by the time lunch rolled around, he kind of wished that he hadn't agreed to mean up with the bloke. He had things he wanted to get done, but he'd offered and he wasn't going to back out. He'd just come up with a covering excuse instead. One that was a little more prepared this time.

Caleb wasn't late, he didn't have anyplace else to be besides 'away from the school building' so he'd headed out right away--he just walked slower than usual at current. Either way when he got to Dean, sitting on the same spot he always did, he stopped. "Hey." he greeted. He wasn't sure if he was still welcome or not, so he didn't sit down.

Caleb was sitting in art class, sort of half wondering if Dean was going to make it to school today. He hadn't seen him yet(not that he normally did) and the bell was just about to ring. Which meant he was stuck sitting by himself, thoughts churning in all sorts of weird directions, covering Leija, Dean, Lullaby, the town, Mathias, the vampire who munched on Mathias, and something he'd caught in the paper the other day...something about a town slaughtered or something. What this meant was he was highly unfocused, and was actively attempting to ignore the group of girls who he'd glared at the other day to get them off of Dean's case who were looking over at him now and then and giving him the whispery-giggly treatment. Joy.

Dean was running late. Thia didn't have an alarm clock, unsurprisingly and they'd over slept, waking well after the sun was over the horizon. In fact, she'd shaken him awake this morning with a stern admonition to 'go to school' and shooed him out of the house as quickly as she could. He'd barely had time to grab a shower - which he'd insisted on. And he was, of course, still wearing yesterday's clothes, which he'd slept in. He'd stopped on the way to school and grabbed a packet of gum, insanely aware that he was lacking in a toothbrush and dragged his hand through his hair a few times, but he figured he looked basically a mess. But he was a mess with an undeniable bounce in his step. the world was a much better place today as he jogged down the empty corridors to the art room and apologised to the teacher as he reached the class room and headed to his table, dropping his bag by his chair as he sat down and upnodded to Caleb.

Caleb had waited after the funeral proper by the gates, kind of hoping to catch Dean. He hadn't been able to yet, and he still wanted to, even though there was a chance it would be unwelcome. If it was, he could fuck off, and talk to him again in class. If not, then maybe it'd be okay to talk to the guy for a while. See how he was if nothing else. So, he'd waited, and eventually, he caught sight of Dean walking towards the gate. Pushing off of it, he eyed the guy who clearly hadn't seen him yet. "Hey. Dean." he said, to catch his attention.

He hadn't wanted to leave her grave, he'd stayed for the longest time, but eventually something had got through that he couldn't stay there forever. He couldn't have even said whether Joshua had left before him, or whether the guy had still been sitting there when he finally got up. He didn't remember much between his talk with Joshua and hearing his name called at the gates. But he heard his name and looked around, seeing the guy from art class there. "Hey," he said, numbly.

Who: Caleb and Dean
Where: Art class
When: 3rd period

Dean's intention today was to actually go to class - all of his classes. Every one. For an entire day. It had been a while - he'd been skipping for a while now. And apparently it had been noticed, as the teacher called him aside as he walked into his class to tell him that if he wasn't here from now on, he'd be looking at detentions and a letter home to his parents. Dean took it with a blank face, choosing not to mention that his parents were in an entirely different country and that he was staying with his cousin. Whatever. That done, he turned and headed to sit down.

As Caleb entered the classroom, just a little late, he saw that at least he wasn't going to be singled out by the teacher--as he was already talking to some other guy. So, he went and found a table to sit at towards the back of the room, not paying a whole lot of attention to the others in the room, even if they were glancing at him as he passed. He dropped his books down on the table, and dropped into the chair, crossing his arms on the table and resting his head on it. This sucked. He didn't particularly want an art class this early. Traditionally, he slept through the first three hours of his day, and now he had a class he wanted to be awake for. That blew.
