Chloe was worried. She'd pulled her hair into somewhat unruly pleats in order to tame down the whole...OH HEY LOOK AT ALL MY HAIR thing, but really it just functioned to make her look like Pippi Longstocking. Awesome. Also, she was wearing uniform - grey skirt, knee socks, shirt & tie, the whole shebang. Which was making her stand out a whole bunch amongst the rest of the kids who frankly, all looked like extras from an advert for The Gap.

This was risky. Isabelle wasn't usually this rash with her decisions, but between the weather being lovely and her foster parents suggesting she and her sister "get out of the house" and knowing how precarious the situation was...well maybe it was worth the risk.

Taylor had attempted to find the owner of the doll for most of the afternoon with no success. It was hard enough for someone who didn't talk to get their attention, since she couldn't exactly tap them on the shoulder, and those who she had gotten the attention of hadn't really had much to say. In the end, she decided that a note left on the blackboard in the room she had found the doll in was the best course of action. If no one responded, she'd take the doll home with her.

Caleb was outside. He happened to be sitting on the porch, watching the last of the random guys bringing in furniture. Some chick was kind of directing them around, and he? Well, he was staying the shit out of that situation. He assumed that Math had arranged things, and it was just sort of weird to see it in progress. New things, that basically looked to him like someone else's life.

It had been far too long since they'd had a good talk, so Isabelle was waiting patiently in their room for her sister to get home from school. Maybe Medea had just been too busy with that new toy of hers or school or something, but they'd been missing each other lately and Isabelle wasn't comfortable with that.

So there she was, sitting on her bed with a magazine open, even if she wasn't reading it, listening for her sister's arrival.

Who: May and Isabelle
When: Late afternoon, before dark
Where: The streets

So the ghost movies hadn't been that scary. At least May hadn't screamed too much, but it was really hard to be scared of scary movies in the middle of the daytime. Especially when you were in the living room and patients kept walking through. She'd manged to finish the two movies she had before the day was even out, so to keep from forgetting them later, she headed back to the movie store to drop them off. Now, if she could get there and back home before it got dark, she'd be perfectly content with the day. Despite her run in with Kaysen's world-hating boyfriend.

Isabelle was on her way to check out Nevermore, see what they had on ghosts and perhaps do a little reading of her own on psychic vampires. Wasn't it just like Medea to find an interesting little pet straight off the bat? All the same, her little projects were starting to shape up a bit, she just had to speed up the timetable a little. Distracted by her musing, she bumped into someone on the sidewalk, stumbling a touch but regaining her balance quickly. "Whoops," she said, flashing a smile. "Sorry about that, I wasn't looking."

Caleb knew there was the memorial going on for Chrissy. He just...didn't happen to be attending. Why? Well, possibly because when he'd heard the news, his first reaction was 'fuck, I didn't get to watch'. Which he was aware was massively fucked up of him. Sure, he couldn't be bothered to care that it was fucked up of him--but he was in fact aware. He supposed one of the perks of being a half demon was you didn't give a shit when someone you truly detested died and you could just kick back and not feel bad about it. And not feel bad that you didn't feel bad. He just personally couldn't quite handle how people did a one eighty on their opinion of the girl. One minute she was hated and adored, the biggest bitch ever and the queen of so many--and now she was a saint, according to the people sobbing in the hallways. Fucking pathetic.

He also wasn't actually in class, since it appeared the student body was only loosely considered at school today. People were wandering around crying and shit, there was the defense classes...everything was in a disarray. It happened. So he hadn't in any manner wanted to go to class, and he hadn't wanted to go to the memorial, so he'd opted to find a patch of sun coming in one of the side windows in one of the halls. Said hall was empty and nowhere near the gym, so he was less likely to be bothered. He'd laid down in the rectangle of light--or what could loosely be termed as light, with his head propped on one arm curled behind it, his feet propped up on the window sill, sunglasses over his eyes and his mp3 player tuning out the rest of the world nicely. He didn't quite fall asleep so much as he just tuned out everything and everyone effectively enough to relax for two seconds.

New friends

Who: Isabelle and Jessalyn
When: After cheerleading practice
Where: MSHS gym

For all that the popular blonde cheerleader thing Isabelle had going on was just an act, she did actually enjoy parts of cheerleading. Wearing tiny skirts and cheering on the boys wasn't part of it, but the gymnastics and stunting parts required balance, grace, athleticism, and rhythm, and she enjoyed testing herself with newer, bigger tricks. That had been the goal for this practice - working on their stunts and tumbling for the competitions that typically ran after the end of football season. Being tiny, Isabelle was always her stunt group's flyer, and being strong and flexible made her the best. It was, of course, part of the plan - being the best made it easy to take over, and she'd nearly rousted Chrissy Chapman from her spot as captain already. Without using any number of secrets she'd discovered during her short stint on the team. They were working on basket tosses today, and Isabelle was becoming a little frustrated. Her bases were good, but weren't quite strong enough to pull off some of the really flashy tricks she'd learned at the gym back in Iron Mountain - plus some of the moves were illegal in high school cheerleading. Which meant she had to content herself with single back tucks and lateral spins as she was launched into the air.

School was over (thankfully) and Isabelle had a good twenty minutes before cheerleading practice started. She liked to spend the time hanging out with the morons who thought they were her friends, cementing alliances and keeping her ears (and mind) open for any secrets that might find their way to her. So far, it hadn't proved very fruitful - a lot of cheating on quizzes (which she held onto just in case), borrowing and not returning clothes, and secret crushes on other girls' boyfriends. Potentially useful, but nothing terribly damaging. Shame.

Who: Isabelle and Seph

Where: the lake!

Working in Doc's forge had taught Seph something, and it was that he was not back up to par with being in shape. He kept getting tired way too fast to suit him, and his back and shoulders ached far too bad. So, he was just going to have to work harder at getting himself back to where he had been before he'd more or less died. It involved alternating time in the forge with time in the basement, and cardio to build his stamina back up. The quickest way to do that was to run. So that's what he was doing. In sweats and a hoodie, he was jogging along the lakeshore while his perpetual shadow slid along the ground out on his left side, keeping up effortlessly. He concentrated on his breathing, counting them out in relation to his heartrate and just trying to let everything else go.

Semi-awkward Meeting

Who: Dean and Isabelle
When: Morning
Where: Costume shop/party store

Isabelle had spent the morning looking for a costume on a budget. She was pondering getting a job, if she couldn't manage to shake a little more cash out of the foster parents - manual labor seemed so terribly uninteresting, but there was always the chance she'd meet more interesting townsfolk. At any rate, she'd hit up thrift stores looking for ideas. She thought Medea was still going for her zombie look, but she needed something that would help make her unrecognizable. She was going to win those bets with Gabe and Kyle, so help her.

The thrift store had yielded up some choice prizes to her searching; she'd come away with a brightly colored peasant skirt and another patterned skirt to tatter and wear over it, a peasant blouse, two scarves and a plethora of shiny, jingly, bright jewelry, all coming in pretty well under budget. Already the owner of a pair of lace-up black boots, the only thing that was left was a mask. Possibly a wig to make her even more unrecognizable - they'd be looking for a blonde, after all. Her luck at the thrift store ended when it came to masks that weren't disgusting, so she headed down to the party store, hoping to find something inexpensive but good.

Gabe and Kavin made short work of getting the house party ready. Promise Theory was set up in the corner of the large living room, playing their set and a stereo was located beneath the television to be turned on when they took their breaks. The kitchen held a slew of alcohol spread across the kitchen table, along with chips, sodas and pizza's. Disposable cups and plates across the counter. His bedroom door had long since been locked, but he'd left the door to the guest room open in order to make sure there was enough room for everyone to move about. Once the first person arrived, it seemed like the steady influx of people didn't stop. The door constantly opening with people flowing in. Any thoughts that the party was going to be a small one quickly left Kavin's mind and he began to mingle with the people as they arrived.

Moving to Marquette was hardly an issue for Isabelle; after all, the only person she cared about in Iron Mountain was her sister, and Medea was coming with. It was only an hour away, but really, that was all the girls needed. An hour was enough distance to ensure no one had heard of them - or had heard of the 'tragedy' that surrounded them. It was also a delightfully fresh canvas with which to play.
