"Tell me again how I let you talk me into baking bread?" Kavin said. He looked pretty odd in jeans, shirtless with an apron around his middle, but he wanted the least mess possible while making the dough like Jeri had instructed. "I'm a guy. I'm a guy. I'm supposed to be a horrid cook. Why are you turning me into Martha Steward?" he teased.
"I'm not turning you into Martha Steward. Though I'm pretty sure that woman desperately needs to get laid." Jeri managed not to look offended. She wasn't shirtless, but she was wearing an apron. "We're making bread because it's almost violent and very fun, and then you'll have fresh bread to eat. Think about it. Fresh bread. It'll be delicious and you can show it off to your friends and proclaim yourself the greatest cook of all of them." Not that she thought people like Gabriel Winters had any kind of cooking skill, but if they did she doubted they'd make bread anyway. "And besides, this way if you ever end up being the last person on earth, you'll still have bread to eat. Go get three cups of warm - not hot - water and put a third of a cup of honey in it, and two of those packets of yeast." Jeri set a glass bowl on the counter.

Having exhausted her emergency stash of M&Ms in a poker game with her friends, Jeri left them to head to her locker. A perpetual hoarder of sweet things, both with actual sugar and not, Jerilyn was trying to decide if she really wanted one of her sugar-free cherry-lime suckers. They were somewhat more expensive then the regular kind, after all. With a shrug, she picked one out and pulled off the plastic, and stuck the candy in her mouth, and pocketed another just in case.
Kavin had been looking for Jerilyn. He'd spent the last couple hours walking around, talking to this person and that person. He knew she'd been playing poker with her friends, so he asked where she'd went. So, taking that information, he found her right where they'd said she'd be, at her locker. He came up behind her and covered her eyes. "Guess who." he said
Saved from a Storm Drain

Where: Streets of Marquette, near a gas station
When: Afternoon
Out of all the stupid things Kitty had done in her life, she was pretty sure this ranked up in the top ten. Maybe even the top five. All she'd meant to do was swing by the gas station on her walk home and buy a soda, but when she heard the voice calling from the storm drain, she'd had to go investigate. All she'd intended on doing was checking out the scene, but the closer she got, the more her curiosity peaked. There was definitely someone down there! Without much thought, she pulled up the grate and leaned in, attempting to see who it might be. And that's when she slipped.
The ghost snickered and ran off, leaving Kitty sitting at the bottom, looking up at the hole she'd fallen down into. Climbing to her feet, she reached up and grabbed the ledge, but her upper arms didn't prove to be strong enough to pull her out. "Hey!" she yelled, hands waving frantically from the hole in the ground. "Somebody help me!" Hopefully someone would be as willing to investigate as she had been, though hopefully not near as clumsy.
Don't wanna lose you.

Jeri came out of the bathroom, towel-drying her hair with a quiet little humming sound. As much as she loved smelling like the fine dust of a bakery and a little like cinnamon and chocolate, and probably had random spots on her that she'd gotten icing or something spattered on her, she liked feeling clean more. Even if her body wash was vanilla scented. Maybe she should try something that didn't smell like food sometime.
Anyway, she paused in the hall as Furball ran past in his giant guinea pig ball, just motoring along, before she made her way to the living room and sat down so she could see Kavin. He'd been... pensive. Ever since he'd picked her up from work.
"Hey." She nudged him lightly. "Sup?"

After dropping of Peyton at her house, Kavin decided that waiting to check up on Nate wasn't going to last long. His car seemed to steer itself in the direction of his friend's house. On route however, he came across a boy walking down the street. From the back he kind of looked like Nate, but he didn't walk the same. Something about his stride was different, but Kavin pulled over ahead of the boy and glanced back.

Kavin dropped Jeri off for work but really wasn't in the mood to head home just yet. Not and hang out with the clothes throwing ghost, so he called Peyton. Maybe he'd get lucky and she wouldn't have any plans and they could hang out and talk or something. He was quickly finding out that it was a lot easier to talk to her than most people and now that Nate was gone, well that just sucked and sitting at home thinking about it just wasn't working out for him. So Peyton that was much better. He dialed her number as he pulled away from the parking lot of the bakery, already heading in the direction of the girls house just in case she agreed.

The funeral had been a somber one, at least in Kyle's opinion. There were people there who genuinely cared - like Gabe - and people Kyle knew hadn't given a crap about Chrissy - the majority of the room. He hadn't hated Chrissy. He'd liked her, in fact. Felt bad for her most of the time. He'd even fantasized her on more than one occasion... had wanted to date her long before Gabe ever entered the picture. But all of that seemed so irrelevant now that she was gone. After the funeral, he said goodbye to Gabe and started off toward home. He pulled out his phone and texted Kavin, wondering if the guy had anymore "ghost" run-ins.
hey man. wanting 2 see some ghost shit. starting to feel left out since everyone else is talking about it.
Kavin was actually on route to Kyle's once he'd dropped Jeri off at her friends house after the funeral. He was tugging his tie loose around his neck when his phone notified him of the text. Instead of texting back, he put it on hands free and called Kyle. "Yo, where are you?" he questioned when the boy picked up. I'm heading towards your house and right now I see at least..." he paused and counted the ghosts around the car as he stopped at a stop sign. "Two ghosts, right now."

Gabe was sure that the day he was supposed to be bouncing into school was yesterday, but today was the first day that he'd driven himself to school. Not having to walk, or ride the bus, or having his mom take him made all the difference in the world, and he headed towards his locker with a grin on his face. Grabbing his books, he moved on, pausing when he saw Kavin at his own locker. He was in a good mood today, despite having a funeral to attend later, and he'd cooled down enough that he thought he could manage a civil conversation in public. "Hey, Kav," Gabe said, continuing towards Kavin's locker. "You got a sec?"
Kavin blinked and dropped his book on the floor when he heard Gabe's voice. God fucking idiot. Dropping shit? he thought to himself as he bent down to pick up the fallen book. "I'm not supposed to talk to you." he said simply. "I'd rather not get myself in hot water if I can help it." He didn't want to give Charlotte any excuses to out him. The last thing he needed to be doing was talking to Gabe, he knew, but he'd not approached him, Gabe had come up out of his own free will.

Medea didn't generally eat in the cafeteria--that was more Isabelle's territory, and she was more than happy to leave her sister to taming that crowd. So, she took her food and often found new places to eat, to see if she could meet mroe fringe people in the school social structure. It was the first day she'd been able to leave her arm sling at home, so she was glad for the freedom that gave her, even if she was still bruised a bit. She just didn't heal well enough to be fully better yet.
So, finding a little area by the gym to settle herself on the floor, lunch tugged out of it's bag, she opened up her abnormal psych book, and started skimming over things she'd already read. She knew that there was a funeral today for the old queen bee...that was making the environment in school interesting. Now all she had to do was hope someone came by who didn't want to be alone.

Kavin realized that he hadn't talked to Kyle in what felt like forever. He knew how everyone else was handling the ghosts, at least those close to him. Gabe and Charlotte, well he wasn't talking to them at the moment, Nate he knew was okay, Jeri was sleeping in the guest bed, so he knew she was alright, and Isaac and Peyton were good too. So next on the list was Kyle, so he slipped out of the guest room and grabbed his cell, hoping it wasn't too late to call and dialing his friends number. He listened to the ringing and was half tempted to hang up, but he'd at least leave a message first.
Half expecting it to be Alexis, Kyle turned over in his bed, away from his phone to ignore it. He was watching some shitty horror movie on tv and... it was a hell of a lot better than whatever she might have to say to him. Still... after the third ring, Kyle sighed and rolled back over to snatch his phone from his table. When he saw it was Kavin, he quickly answered it and rubbed a hand over his eyes after lifting the phone to his ear. "Hey man... everything okay?" It was late, so he assumed something was going on. But if he heard the word 'ghost' he might fucking break something.

So. Ghosts! They weren't gone, which was surprising to Wednesday, since it wasn't Halloween anymore. Her mom was one of the silly people who had crowded into church that morning to pray and look for guidance from some guy who liked to preach about God and sin. As if he would have all the answers about wandering lost souls. This is what happens when you don't accept Jesus Christ as your savior, sinners! You're damned soul will be stuck in limbo, destined to be Earth bound and wander alone for centuries. Wednesday didn't know if her dad had joined her, or if he had gone into work, more than willing to pretend like nothing strange was happening around town - or the world apparently. All Wednesday knew was when she got home from school, her mom would probably thrust a rosary into her hand and ask her if she'd repented yet.

Nate slept like a log through the day, his body realizing more than he did how much sleep he really needed. He was dead to the world in a dreamless (and dreamwalkless) slumber and didn't wake up until it was after dark. He felt insanely groggy as he sat up, peering around the dim lit room and trying to figure out just where the hell he was. He'd never slept there before so it took him a few long moments to puzzle out whose room it was and what he was doing there. And then the question of where Kavin was entered his mind. He noticed the handwritten note then and turned on the lamp to read it. Kavin had gone to get Peyton and would be back later. Right. Nate stretched and frowned down at his clothes. It was pretty gross to sleep with clothes on and he really needed to brush his teeth. Badly. He was lamenting his lack of toothbrush when something... someone came gliding through the wall. Nate was pretty used to that, he'd seen that more often than he liked when he was younger but it still startled him. A ghost, staring at him with wide eyes and looking around in confusion. "You can..." It said but the rest of the sentence was swallowed by static, then quiet, even as its lips kept moving.
Nate stared, his heart still hammering in his chest. He'd never seen a ghost in Kavin's house before let alone... two? The alarm on Kavin's nighstand started moving, finally falling off his table and cracking as it hit the floor and whoever had pushed it was manifesting right there. An angry looking man, angry and confused. Nate was about to scurry away but the ghost beat him to it, pounding on the closet door before disappearing through it.
The other one followed and Nate sat dead still before grabbing his phone.
dude he punched out. u have a ghost problem. He hit send, then stared at the wall where the second ghost had disappeared.

Who: Isaac and Kavin
When: Around five PM
Where: Isaac's house
Kavin couldn't shake the flickers anymore. They were there. Something was there. Every time he turned his head he could see something. He had no clue what he was seeing, but he knew it was getting annoying. Making it hard to drive. Hard not to pay attention to every angle he could at the same time.
But he forced the flickers to take a backseat. He had to talk to Isaac. For Peyton. She needed him more than she might be letting on, and though Kavin knew that Isaac was going through a lot of crap, being everyone's shoulder, he felt that Isaac should know a few things. Against his better judgment, one more person would need to know his secret. But this was for Peyton, and Isaac would keep the secret. Even Peyton thought so.
So after he dropped her off at her house, he headed over to Issac's for a long overdue chat. Knocking lightly, he waited for his friend to answer.
Talking It Out

When: Shortly after 3
Where: Outside the hospital
Kavin set the alarm on his phone to vibrate just before he needed to be at the hospital to pick up Peyton. Nate was still conked out when he woke up and he wasn't about to make the kid get up. He hadn't been getting much sleep and he knew that. Far be it for him to wake the boy up now. So he left a note on his pillow letting him know that he went to get Peyton and that he'd be back soon, then drove off to the hospital.
He got there right on time and parked out in front, turning the car off and waiting for her to emerge from the building. The entire way over he kept thinking he was seeing things. Little flashes. Sparks. Flickers of something or someone out of the corner of his eye. He leaned back now against the seat and shook his head. "Please God don't let something else fucked up happen. We just had damn werewolves. And I've got drama enough for the whole town. Don't let there be ghosts too."

Kavin wasn't in a good mood by the end of third period. His talk with Charlotte had him with added stress on top of the usual feelings of guilt and confusion and just plain 'tired of this shit' feelings. The locker room was slowly clearing out and eventually it was just him and Nate. Nate stuffing his gym clothes back into his locker. Well, he'd gotten an open invitation and he'd just sat there and watched the boy change moments before, inconspicuously of course, so he wanted to kiss him. And the room was empty...
Fuck it. he thought to himself as he headed over towards Nate, tossing his backpack over his shoulder and grabbing Nate by the collar of his shirt and shoving him up against his own locker. For a moment, if someone had walked in, it almost looked as if he was going to hit the boy or something, but a quick look around the room and he leaned in and pressed a kiss against the boys lips. Hard and forceful and quick. "We're skipping." he said, not really giving Nate much of a decision in the whole thing as he released his friend's shirt.

This was a very new thing to Charlotte, but she'd told Gabe she would talk to Kavin, and she had every intention to. She wasn't used to feeling so protective, and so angry about it. School probably wasn't a good place for this, but she wanted to get it out of the way. The first shot she got in gym, she approached Kavin. "Can we talk?"
He raised a brow at the girl when she asked him that. Then a flood of 'shit it's probably about Gabe' went through his brain. He knew that they were friends. Knew that he hadn't gotten a reply from Gabe that morning when he texted him. He had to assume that he was still pissed. And if he was pissed and told Charlotte, chances are she was pissed. Fuck. I thought we just fixed this. He sighed. "Go ahead, chew me out. I apologized already. And I'm sorry I pissed him off and I'm sorry I came at him like I did, I just... I was trying to help and I just fucking suck at it." He kept his voice calm as he motioned for her to come with him to a less in the middle of everyone kind of place in the gym.

He felt guilty that morning. For a lot of things, but the one thing that weighed heaviest on his mind was how he'd acted with Gabe the day before. He should have been more understanding and right now, he just wanted to fix things before the tiny rift between himself and his friend had too much time to slowly morph into a canyon.
He grabbed his cell and texted out a calm, cool and apologetic text to Gabe.
Sorry bout yesterday. I shouldn't have rushed to jump the gun with you. I kinda wanna talk, if that's possible. I don't think I explained myself the way I should have and there's a lot of stuff I should have said before I mentioned anything about you at all. Think you can handle a non confrontational chat?

"No, I'm just saying that because I basically control everything involving wood right now, I can charge what I want for the damn stuff, and if that damn stuff happens to be wheat, then I want wheat." Jeri argued, pointing at the game board at what looked like the end of a game of Settlers of Catan. It also looked like she was losing, in spite of the fact that she (the red player) controlled pretty much all of the woodlands, plus the wood port on the edge of the map. "Just like Garth's controlling - for once - the wool. So what are we playing Saturday? Paranoia or D&D? I need to know which books to bring."
"Paranoia." Garth spoke up. "I'm storytelling." Jerilyn nodded, that settled, and went back to haggling with the wood.
Kavin reached the house that Jeri'd told him she'd be at and he took another quick look in the mirror to make sure he looked normal and not like he'd just spent a couple hours making out with a boy. Once he was positive he looked presentable, he got out of the car and headed up to the door, knocking lightly on the front door and hoped he wasn't waking up anyone's parents or pissing off someone. Especially the mom of some kid he didn't know. Yeah, that'd be fun in a not fun kind of way.

So despite the snowy blizzard, after he'd dropped his bag off at his house and Jeri off at work, he headed on over to Gabe's. He needed to talk to him about the whole thing. He hadn't got as much booze as the last party, but there was plenty to go around. Along with a few pizzas that Jeri had whipped up. Kavin hadn't bothered to dress up, letting Peyton know she didn't have to come early, or at all if she didn't want to. He was going to let her work her magic, but he just wasn't in the mood to dress up. It didn't feel right. Not when a classmate ended up dead. Right now what he needed was a drink, so he'd poured himself a screwdriver in one of those little blue plastic cups. It was more vodka than orange juice really. So much so that it looked like watered down orange juice. But a guy needed a drink once in a while. Especially when they picked up a dead girl the night before. He'd left the door unlocked for people to come in and go out as they pleased.
The weapons in the house were gone. He, with the help of Jeri, had collected and stored them in his parents attic. Aside from the few he kept on his person, a pocket knife in one pocket and a silver knife in the one of the combat boots he wore. Jeri was doing something or other in the kitchen and he'd gotten his CD player set up with a couple mixed CD's. It wasn't really big bash anymore, not with everything that happened the night before. He wasn't really sure that anyone would show up. Then again, in the face of a tragedy, everybody needs a drink.

He needed a shower and he needed to gather up his weapons and take them to his parents house before the party. Not to mention going out and getting some booze. And shaving sometime before the evening.
The problem wasn't that he disturbed her, it was the absence of him that woke Jeri up in the muzzy, dull-witted sort of way. "Mph. No. Too early. Come back?" The fact that she was able to form coherent sentences at all was something to be proud of, honestly, and she didn't bother brushing away a lock of hair that had fallen in front of her face. "Coffee?"
