Then Sell Me Somthing

Who: Isaac and Harper
When: night
Where: on the phone!

When Isaac finally got home, he was wet, tired, and sore. He'd spent a lot of time on the phone since he'd parted ways with Thom, and had narrowed it down to a few select choices for whoever'd been fucking with Kaysen at the party. It wasn't hard; Marquette's rumor mill worked fast. Very fast. He'd gone to aforementioned assholes' houses, and had it out with them. One 'discussion' had come to blows. So his ribs hurt too, but he'd come out the victor. He wasn't worried about anybody pressing charges, either; these weren't the kind of guys who admitted they'd lost. He dragged his feet as he climbed the stairs to his room. He needed to do something, talk to somebody. Who wasn't Thom -- who would demand to know why he wasn't invited along -- or ... well, who else did he talk to anymore, anyway? As of a couple of days ago. Harper. Stripping down to his boxers and flopping onto his bed, Isaac pulled his phone out and dialed Harper's number. Hopefully she wasn't asleep.

Waiting for the Rain

default user pic

Who: Taylor and Chance
When: Around six
Where: Harlow Park/Taylor's house

Taylor was standing under a tree, sheltering from the worst of the rain as she waited for Chance, not that she could have gotten any wetter, she'd been soaked within a minute of leaving the house. She wasn't sure how succesful skateboarding would be in this sort of weather but she didn't want to stand Chance up so she had located some knee pads, dragged a hoodie from her closet and headed to the park.

Her parents hadn't tryed to stop her leaving, they hadn't even asked why she was going out when there was a storm pelting down. Instead, her father had muttered something about not dragging water everywhere when she came back while her mother cleared away dinner in silence. Scowling at the sky, she muttered a curse to herself before pushing some wet hair back from her face.

Secrets

Who: Thom and Leija
Where: Phone call, then his house
When: Afternoon onwards

Thom was didn't expect his mom to be home when he got in, so he didn't even bother calling as he walked into the quiet, empty house. There was a note on the front of the fridge from the housekeeper saying they needed more bleach. And another from his mom telling him that she'd be late home tonight and not to bother cooking - she'd grab something at the office if he wanted to order takeout. He left both of them where they were and opened the door instead, grabbing a soda and a slice of the half eaten cherry pie that was sitting on a shelf. He was thoroughly depressed about the entire day so far - the talk with Chance, then with David had revealed absolutely nothing. No, not true - it had given them some numbers, but nothing else. The drive home had been undertaken in near silence from both of them, though Isaac had mentioned a get together thing the following night that he should turn up to. Thom had made the usual 'yeah, sure' noises, but neither of them had been particularly upbeat or enthusiastic.

who: lullaby and blake
where: park cemetery, one of the islands on the ponds
when: early afternoon(right before the rain)

Lullaby was sitting in Park Cemetery, on one of the larger little islands on one of the ponds. She always liked going over the little wooden bridge to it, then spreading out under one of the trees. Maybe it was weird to hang out in a cemetery, but she liked this cemetery. When she kicked the bucket, she wanted to be buried here. It was pretty and there were baby ducks, squirrels, occasional moose and other things. It was like a Disney flick had thrown up in there. Only with less singing and pink-anything. Either way she was hanging out because she liked it there, and she felt like she could read her books on curses and white magic and all that crap without having to explain herself to too many passersby. She even had her umbrella and everything, huge, fuckoff thing that it was and she was prepared for when the rain started--if it ever did. After all, it'd been one of the driest summers ever.

Currently she was frowning over one of the white magic books, learning about wardings. According to the book, you could ward off like, just about everything if you knew how and had the right ingredients. Of course, some of the ingredients were ridiculous. A lot of them looked more gettable, however, and she was trying to decide if she was actually going go try to do any of this, and if Unc would mind if she experimented on his house. Hm...

At the Market

Who: Sophie and Domino
Where: Grocery store parking lot
When: Mid-morning

It was all moving along far too fast and things seemed to be spiralling out of her control. Having talked to Oz a couple of days ago and their having decided that her cousin Dean could come and stay with them for a while, with a heavy maybe on him moving to Marquette to finish his schooling and having called her Auntie Vicky to confirm, Sophie seemed to have lost control of the entire process. She'd expected to have a couple of weeks to prepare for Dean's arrival - school didn't start until the end of the month, after all. But her aunt had well and truly jumped on the 'possibly temporary' part of things and decided that if there was going to be a trial period, they didn't have any time to waste - if it didn't work out, she wanted him back in time to start sixth form college in the UK in September.

Sophie had been woken at the crack of dawn that morning (she was going to have to remind Vicky about time differences again!) to say that Dean would be arriving on Thursday evening. Two days - that's all she had to get everything ready. Two. Days.

TIME UPDATE

default user pic

Date: Tuesday, August 7th 2007

Weather: It's another day that's dark and stormy--only shock! Gasp! It actually storms. High winds and rain that soaks the world piss down from the sky. It's still warm and muggy, the thunderstorms start in the early afternoon and go on and off all night.

Events: People are still talking about the goings on of the past few days, and there's a general air of shock and dismay in town. The police are still asking for any leads and there's been mention of a reward for information leading to any arrests.

The strays in the area have really picked up! There are a lot of them in town now, and there's been whispers of a strain of rabies or extreme allergic reaction from them. People have been rumored to have been attacked, animal control urges caution. The hospital is denying the rabies rumors, but a public service announcement has been put out that any animal bites should always be treated.

If you have any events or anything going on which you think warrants a mention in the time update, please let us know!
