There was a careful control to the practice Socko had been putting himself through, one that was paying off bit by bit. Seated on the floor of his living room with his back against the sofa, Socko appeared to be staring pointedly into the screen of the television, which wasn't even on. The stereo was pulsing like a heartbeat with bass, a joint smoldered in the ashtray nearby, but Socko wasn't paying much attention to either of them.

Kayos had set up hotel accommodations for herself and Nemo, and she'd actually gone all ritzy-like and chosen the Landmark Inn. Which was probably far better than Nemo was used to and the like, but whatever. She didn't feel like going elsewhere, and it was closest to the building she was already having Teddy push through paperwork so she could own the damn thing. And by push through paperwork, she meant figure out how she could come up with a deed or something so she could start the renovations.

Dear Diary,
I am grumpy now so I will make this short. (And then I will go stomp on a miniature version of Tokyo rawr! Just kidding, I like Tokyo. And I'm not that grumpy.) But I totally had a headache, (BOO!) it was totally icky, for reals. But Reiz took care of me because he's awesome.
I feel kinda bad though, my room was a totally mess, like stuffed animals everywhere. I should really do a quick house clean before I let him in. In other news I talked to Billy, faithful fiancee to awesome magic shop lady and mother is going to be busy next week.

It was a crisp November morning when Nemo wandered down the main street. This new town felt different, smelt different. He wasn't quite sure how he got there, but something seemed to draw him. Still, no matter, if it turned out that he didn't like it then he could just move on.

Caleb was outside. He happened to be sitting on the porch, watching the last of the random guys bringing in furniture. Some chick was kind of directing them around, and he? Well, he was staying the shit out of that situation. He assumed that Math had arranged things, and it was just sort of weird to see it in progress. New things, that basically looked to him like someone else's life.

Not many people would enjoy spending their Saturday alternating between being elbow deep in a car's engine and straining beneath it, but in that regard (among others) Nic wasn't most people. She was making real progress on Caleb's car, Ash had everything they would need to do the repair work, and if they were lucky? Almost all of it would be done this weekend.

Near as I can tell, Kurt Petersen was born in a small farming village on the outskirts of Dresden in 1907. He showed up on the Health Ministry's records in November of that year, though a great deal of records from that era through '45 were lost during the second World War. What I know is this:

Last minute preparations were being made for the wedding tomorrow. It was only going to be small - a mere handful of people. Neither the bride nor the groom wanted a big show, just a small, intimate ceremony at their place. Billy had spent the morning in town and come back with a truck full of food, flowers and cake. Small though the ceremony and celebration was going to be, and limited though their budget was, they still wanted to do things properly.

"Of course Mom," Amy said into the phone. She could feel a headache starting, right at the base of her skull, curling, throbbing, pinching.
"Its just with Jupiter the way it is now, and the resort with the surge of guests, it'll just be hard, I won't have any time, you understand, don't you dear?"
"Yes Mom."
"Take care of yourself then, I have to head off before I'm late for my six o' clock aromatherapy session."

Depressed didn't even come close to covering how Jocelyn was feeling all afternoon while she tried to trudge through her shift at Babylon. In the end she'd broken at least three glasses and gotten more than several dirty looks from both patrons and coworkers. She was in a haze and couldn't seem to find her way out of it.

After bugging out on Doc and Jocelyn, Kayos had been generally wandering around town, looking around, getting herself familiar with the area, which...being there wasn't a whole lot of area to be familiar with, and she'd been to the Marquette in her own reality, it was pretty easy going. She was looking for a warehouse, though, which was going to be harder to find. She either needed to find herself a good one, or start looking at some of the old buildings that were all abandoned-like and buy one of them and start renovating the shit out of it. Warehouses were just easier in general to renovate, because they were wide open spaces to begin with. Plus, people paid a lot less attention to them, but oh well. Either way, she needed something, because after the vibe she'd gotten from Jocelyn that shit was her territory, she was just going to be taking that not so subtle hint.

Kaysen was out. She didn't feel like being home, since things were still massively tense, Isaac was still leaving, and there wasn't a single good place to be in that house. So, she'd taken off. She'd grabbed her board, and was going to do some really stupid skateboarding in the snow. Down steps. And just general mind numbing shit. Whatever, she just wanted things to be over.
Just fine, thank you.

Pandect took a moment to stare at the computer, the message had a sort of odd quality to it, and of course Pandect was resolutely suspicious. But then there was his patented curiosity, it had become strong now that he felt safe, here in Marquette, against his better judgment. He didn't really know that much about computers anyway, just the basics, like how to open Solitaire.

Jeri was bored. She wasn't feeling all up to going to the gym - lately she'd been skipping it more and more, and that wasn't good for her, but whatever. She figured that since her weekly game day was changed to Sunday this week (a couple of her friends had prior commitments), she'd bother Socko and get some weed. But that would be later; it was still too early yet.
So Jeri was at her desk, doing her usual just wandering the internet with her messangers on.
Hello. How are you today?
TIME UPDATE
Submitted by praelitismods on Tue, 08/11/2009 - 13:41.
Weather: The overnight cloud takes the edge off the chill, and though Saturday is overcast and dull, it is at least warmer. There’s the smell of snow in the air, but none falls, and there’s no wind to drop the temperature any further either. All in all, it’s not a bad day!
Events: A new business opens on the corner of Washington and Third. Looking open and welcoming, it portrays itself as a drop-in, counselling centre for people wanting to talk about the supernatural and the ghost phenomenon. According to the material in the waiting room, the centre is a free service to give guidance and advice on dealing with ‘Today’s New Problems’. Whilst the material is not overblown in either direction, there is an undertone bent towards ‘them’ and ‘us’, focused towards humans and against spirits. Currently, none of the literature and none of the staff (if spoken to) discuss or show any knowledge of any other type of supernatural being other than spirits, and any knowledge and information about spirits is little more than you would be able to find elsewhere.
There is also something a little strange going on, which affects some people in town. Some people (and there seems to be no pattern as to whom) receive a message at some point in the day. This message will come through a variety of means (all of which are standard, ‘normal’ channels) – text message, email, chat room, IM etc. In each case, the number/sender remains anonymous. The message is simple: Hello. How are you today? If the person who receives the message does not reply, they will not receive another message.
If you have any events or anything going on which you think warrants a mention in the time update, please let us know!
