Half a Day Away From You

Dear Diary,
Guess what? Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! And cute little pictures of chubby Pilgrims and Indians aside its going to be a lot of work! I have to bake the turkey and ham (that's Reiz's favorite!) and do all sorts of other good Thanksgiving-ness. The nice decorated man (who's hanging out in the Lamplighter parking lot and gave me a pretty necklace. Yay! Necklace!) might even come too!

EVENT

Sometime in the early evening, much like previous communications, anonymous texts/emails/etc are sent out. The address is untraceable, though this time any reply sends back an error message.
The communication reads:

Who: Taylor and Isabelle
When: mid-afternoon
Where: The Asylum
Taylor had attempted to find the owner of the doll for most of the afternoon with no success. It was hard enough for someone who didn't talk to get their attention, since she couldn't exactly tap them on the shoulder, and those who she had gotten the attention of hadn't really had much to say. In the end, she decided that a note left on the blackboard in the room she had found the doll in was the best course of action. If no one responded, she'd take the doll home with her.

Eben was wandering. He had his map with him, though he wasn't really checking it so much as he was letting himself go wherever looked interesting. That sort of mentality had taken him down a wing that had a lot of windows and there were spirits wandering the halls. So he was taking pictures.
He'd taken shots of strangely located dead birds, all in their own window pane next to one another. He'd also found a bird skeleton on the floor, so he'd taken a shot of that as well. Now he'd moved onto more spirit-photography, asking permission to take shots, even if they didn't come out as clearly as he could see them. So far, the ghosts he'd encountered seemed a little confused that he was there, but otherwise alright. They didn't make a bunch of sense in conversation (since he'd tried) but it was still interesting, one way or another. He paused, seeing a non-spirit type figure up the hallway, though the light was too bright to make out who it was. So he just took a photograph anyhow, thinking the fact that there were two spirits between himself and the figure interesting.

Who: Doc and Grayson
Where: Babylon
When: early evening
While he'd been doing his best to keep a calm disposition about things, Doc was wearing thin. It had been riling him on a personal scale all day now, the fact that Grayson had hit Kayos blindly with accusations of being demonic, and he'd meant it when he said he was going to speak to the lycanthrope about it. Sure, he understood why none of it had gone well. Grayson was defensive of Jocelyn and wary of the unknown, but Doc refused to think it all would've had to go so badly.

Who: Doc and Pandect
Where: Streets around town
When: midday
As a professional hazard, Doc was used to surprises. As a man who had seen and done the impossible more times than he could easily count, he expected surprises as much as any man could without trying to anticipate them. And while he'd gotten good at rolling with the punches, so to speak, there were still plenty of times when he was genuinely caught unawares by his life and the world around him. But he hadn't expected it to happen with music.

She'd worked a good lot of the night with Doc, fixing her building up, but there was still a ton to do. Tons. Whole scads. Like way more than she could possibly face at the moment, so she'd gone for a walk. Or, more specifically, she'd started to go for a walk, then got distracted by the playground in the park that her building overlooked. So what had started as a walk turned into playing in the snow. Sure, she could call it necessary stress relief, or slap some fancy psychobabble term on it, but she was a realist, and decided to call it exactly what it was.
Playing.
Cuz seriously, it was a wicked cool playground, if one was willing to climb over the snowbanks to get there. She was willing. There was a section of the playground above the snowline, the wooden structure all castle-like with a bridge and everything. She went and sat on the ledge of one such bridge, looking out over the blanket of snow that covered what looked to her like the whole world. The only place it wasn't was the lake, it's dark blue uneasy as it crashed up against the side of the harbor now and then.

Kaysen was wandering. She'd sort of broken off from the rest of the group as soon as she possibly could. She was just walking, following corridors, and it seemed there was an endless supply of them. She had her map, though it was shoved into her back pocket, ignored for the moment. It wasn't like she minded if she got lost. It was a neat place. Weird, of course, and there were quite a lot of ghosts, most of which didn't seem to want much to do with her so far. But then she'd just kind of waved, and kept about her business.
Turning a corner, she found a room that looked like it used to be a greenhouse or something. It had glass walls and all, so was the ceiling. Snow covered most of it, and she kind of liked the feel of it. Walking inside, she looked up and around, seeing cracks in the glass of one of the panes in the ceiling, but it didn't look like it was in danger of smashing out or anything. The lights were dimmer in there, since she hadn't flipped them on, and with the snow cover, it was almost dark. At the very least, it was heavily shadowed. Shadowed, and nifty. She even smiled a faint bit.
TIME UPDATE
Submitted by praelitismods on Tue, 10/06/2009 - 14:11.
Weather: The day dawns clear again, still no sign of snow! It’s an almost perfect November day, crisp and clear, though a little colder than yesterday.
Events: All students at MSHS are expected to be gathered in their groups to leave town by 8am sharp. It is expected that the bus journey to Newberry State Hospital will take around 4 hours, given the road conditions. Upon arrival, students are broken up into groups and shown to the rooms which will be dorm rooms for the duration of the stay. All male player characters end up sharing a dorm room, and all female player characters also end up sharing a dorm room. There are no NPCs in those dorm rooms, but there are more than enough beds to go round.
Students are told to familiarise themselves with the place and basically given the afternoon to wander round as they see fit. Each student is given a map of the layout of the property. They are all firmly told that there is to be no leaving the property, and a watch is being kept. Other than that, the students are left to their own devices for the day. Lunch is provided by way of sandwich and snack packs that students can carry around with them, and a warm evening meal is scheduled for 6pm. Attendance at that is compulsory and there will be a headcount. Lights out is at 10pm.
Back in Marquette, all seems fairly quiet.
If you have any events or anything going on which you think warrants a mention in the time update, please let us know!
