Who: Dean and Gabe
Where: MSHS corridors
When: Evening
So, they'd had a plan - Dean had met up with Caleb and Nic and they'd agreed that whever they were 'meant' to be staying for the night, they were actually breaking into the pool and kipping there, away from everyone else. So, they'd headed that way and dumped their stuff and now it was just a case of getting their allocations of blankets there as well, without being spotted by any of the staff and herded in with all the dross.

This whole staying the night in school bullshit was new to Lily - Los Angeles didn't have the kind of weather that required staying at school because it was too dangerous to go home, and it was safe to say her parents hadn't exactly been thrilled, either. Her dad and mom were both at home, thanks to her dad having the day off, and Lily wanted to be there with them instead of stuck here for God only knew how long. Plus, she had her weekly lessons with Doc coming up soon, and she wanted to get some more practice in before then. Still, there was something to be said for having an impromptu sleepover with basically everyone she knew and some she didn't, even if she didn't have cute pajamas or a tooth brush. She was on her way to her locker to grab a book - might as well get some more physics homework done while she was stuck here, and she was so not into sitting around being bored. With that on the brain, small wonder she forgot about looking where she was going and rounded a corner smack into someone.

Who: Lauren and Jesse
When: lunch
Where: school
So it had already been an interesting morning. He'd gotten assaulted, yelled at about the end being nigh, snowed on, rescued by Nic, and had a pop quiz in Latin. It had kept Jesse on his toes, at least, and that was ... what that was. He might sleep well that night, at least, and that was always something to be grateful for, the rare occasions that it happened. Lunch came, and he wasn't hungry, so he dodged around the rush of students toward the cafeteria, in favor of just having a good wander. He settled his headphones over his ears and hit shuffle. It was Zeppelin first, that was possibly a good omen. Humming low to himself, Jesse pushed his glasses up on his nose and rounded a corner in the hallway. Ahh, solitude.
Lauren had come into school late, sort of having difficulty with things considering she wasn't exactly used to having a schedule. It wasn't like she slept, or had an alarm clock to wake her up, or anything of the sort, so, it was just a weeee bit late when she finally managed to stroll into school. Plus, it sucked outside, and while the snow and cold didn't bother her in the slightest, that did nothing for pure visibility problems. When you couldn't see the other side of a narrow street due purely to that much snow blowing in the damn air, it made for a tough time navigating.
Elephant in the Room

Who: Claire and Isaac
When: after class
Where: school
Isaac didn't much like the idea of having to stay overnight at school, but he liked the idea of trying to get home in this mess even less. It would be impossible and dangerous and ... yeah, he'd rather just bunk out on the floor of the gym. As long as they got to go home the next day at some -- hopefully earlyish -- point.
Class had just let out, and he was on his way to his locker and then on to try and find Peyton, his sister, or Thom. Or any combination of the above. He stuffed his books away, keeping out only the ones he had some homework in and turned to walk away. A few steps later, he spotted a familiar face that he hadn't talked to in a while. It wasn't one of the three he was looking for, but that was okay. Because there was something else to her too. "Hey Korey," he greeted as he came up alongside her, giving a small grin.
Snowed in
Submitted by concerto on Sat, 05/09/2009 - 15:49.Who: Aiden, Olivia and Jules
When: Morning
Where: Jules's house
Jules had called Aiden early, waking him up and asking for a favor. A favor of the errand variety in fact, and less than an hour later, he found himself driving to Jules's house with a small white bag full of cold and flu medicine. He yawned against his fist, thinking it was way too early to be up, since it was before noon. And it was snowing too, quite a lot by the time he pulled up to her house. He supposed he could have told Jules he couldn't go get her medicine, but he didn't and he wasn't a dick enough to tell her to get her own. Grabbing the bag once he parked, Aiden left his car, hurrying through the thickening flurries to Jules's door. Knocking, he glanced behind him. The snow didn't look like it was going to stop anytime soon either.
Jules could have woken Olivia up, but she knew the girl barely got any sleep as it was, so she'd called Aiden instead. Asked him for a favor and a while later she heard the knock at the door. She felt like crap and she probably looked like crap too, but she brushed her hair, pulled it up into a pony tail and wrapped her bathrobe around her body, tying it and grabbing a box of tissues as she headed to the door. She pulled it open and tried to say hello but didn't get through the first syllable before she had to stop and yank a tissue from the box and press it to her face, sneezing against the cloth. She motioned for him to come in out of the cold.

Submitted by good_vs_evil on Sat, 05/09/2009 - 15:47.Who: Jerilyn and Kavin
Where: Hallways
When: Late evening
Having exhausted her emergency stash of M&Ms in a poker game with her friends, Jeri left them to head to her locker. A perpetual hoarder of sweet things, both with actual sugar and not, Jerilyn was trying to decide if she really wanted one of her sugar-free cherry-lime suckers. They were somewhat more expensive then the regular kind, after all. With a shrug, she picked one out and pulled off the plastic, and stuck the candy in her mouth, and pocketed another just in case.
Kavin had been looking for Jerilyn. He'd spent the last couple hours walking around, talking to this person and that person. He knew she'd been playing poker with her friends, so he asked where she'd went. So, taking that information, he found her right where they'd said she'd be, at her locker. He came up behind her and covered her eyes. "Guess who." he said

The day sucked. Hell, the weekend had sucked too. So yeah, why should today be any different? He was trying to deal with the fact that Gabe was claiming to be a werewolf, and that Alexis apparently didn't care much for apologies and Kyle? He sucked. All around. People might not come out and say that, but given his reactions with Gabe, and his mistakes with Alexis, they didn't really have to. And since everyone was stuck at school due to the snow, Kyle couldn't even retreat to his house, and to his bedroom and his pot. The gym was already crowding with people now that classes were over, so he couldn't even go there and play basketball to work things out in his head.
That didn't stop him from going into the gym, grabbing a basketball and leaving though. He found an empty corridor where the teachers either had already checked for stray students, or hadn't checked quite yet, and sat himself down. He threw the basketball against the opposite wall, catching it when it bounced back to him. He formed a rhythm and didn't quite realize he was taking out his aggressions on the basketball, or the wall. At least not until he tossed it angrily and it bounced at an odd angle away from him to start rolling down the hall. And he watched it go, too lazy and pissed off to actually go after it.

Who: Leija and Porter
Where: around the school halls
When: lunch
Porter was starting to wonder about people. The ghosts hadn't left, he'd seen two distinctive forms on his way to school, but people here seemed to be adapting. They seemed to be getting used to it. Which was weird. It made him wonder if he could come to school in his mask and people would eventually stop caring. And while they might, he knew that the adjustment period would be filled with torment for him. So that plan was out, as he didn't really feel like getting shoved in a locker or pantsed during gym class. Really, it was almost like the students took solace in those sorts of things to help them forget just how strange and fucked the town around them was becoming. But as long as they didn't take their relief out on him? He could deal.
It was lunch time, and that mostly meant people were distracted with their food or their gripes about the start of a fresh week of school. Mostly. He'd put up with a few passing jibes as he sat with his laptop open in the hallway, headphones on. Porter couldn't quite hear what was being said, but he could guess. At least he didn't really care much, not after everything with Medea recently. And even beyond her, he was... he was doing okay. Making friends. One of whom he was waiting on after a late-night text had told her to meet him over here. Porter wasn't watching for Leija, though, instead raptly focused on his laptop screen as a movie played. He didn't want to look desperate, or give any impressions about why his lunch sat next to him, mostly untouched. He was just... waiting. Hoping.
Breaking Up Sucks

Where: School
When: Late afternoon
Jonathan Byrd was not pleased with the idea of leaving his daughter up at school for the night, but an inability to get to the school kind of killed his argument. While Alexis wouldn't have chosen it for herself either, she wasn't bothered near as much, since she had plenty of people around to keep her company. At some point she hoped to track down Lily and Breezy, and maybe they could practice on their new routine, but for the moment she just wanted to watch the snow. She tried to feel it from her side of the window, tried to meditate of it, and while she was doing well for a while, it suddenly stopped. Alexis sighed and pressed her fingers to the cold glass.

They'd been told that they were going to have to stay in school. Which was something that Leija immediately did not like. She'd tried calling her dad to see if he could come and get her, but he'd made clear just how bad everything was out there, and that he was going to be sleeping in his office at the university himself. The very thought of being caught at MSHS overnight made the angel kind of queasy to her stomach, and panicky. How closely would they be watched? What if she got called out? Could she sneak away? Would they lock the doors and windows? Marquette wasn't the safest place in the world anymore, after all, and it was going to be dark.

Madock left his classroom and headed off in the direction of the lunchroom. Jessalyn wanted him to sit with her today and he had absolutely no problems with that what so ever. On the route to the cafeteria though, he spotted Ransom. Or who he thought was Ransom at least. Jessa had told him where the kid worked and he thought that was the same guy. Pretty sure. Okay, so best thing to do is just tap the guy's shoulder right? So he did. "Hey." he said with a grin. "Ransom, right? I'm supposed to meet you at lunch. Or something. Yeah... hi." Great first impression goofball.

When: Lunch
Where: Cafeteria
The lunchroom was crowded today. And loud. Students chattering excitedly about the snow... most of it annoyed chattered, since it looks like they were all stuck together for a night. Which was going to feel like an eternity. Wednesday just hoped she could find an empty room, or something, and not have to sleep around a bunch of strangers. She seemed to be doing okay on her own anyway, since she was sitting alone at a lunch time and idly picking at her food. Her lighter was in one hand, her thumb flicking the flame bright every couple of seconds. After awhile, she got bored with her salad and starting playing with the flame, close to her lap so that people who were merely sitting around couldn't see. She ran the flame up and down her wrist, over her hand and got it to grow a bit after manipulating it. She wondered if she went somewhere and held it high, if the fire alarm would go off and the sprinklers would go off in the school. Because that? Would be hilarious... and fun.

While Dorian didn't exactly put in enough hours at Nevermore to consider what he was doing as 'work', he did make a daily appearance and check to make sure everything was in working order. The whole book-renting thing was working out really well, since more people could afford to rent the books than buy them. People were desperate for information and he didn't blame them. He would be too, if he hadn't been brought up to believe in all the crazy shit that was out there. Even then, his beliefs didn't cover ghosts suddenly wandering the world. It was the one question commonly asked that he still didn't have a good solid answer for, but life went on, and he'd never had all the answers to begin with.

When: Afternoon, between classes
Where: the phone!
So there was snow. Lots and lots of snow. Apparently over two feet, just like that! The weather had said the possibility of snow, not the certainty of a complete white out. The school was buzzing with the news that the administration would probably keep students over night, it was just that bad. Which meant... sleeping over in the school. Which Claire was so not wanting to do, but what choice did she have? Even if she could walk out to her car, it would take forever to shovel her car out of the snow, and then trying to get home? Impossible, if the news was right. She at least had Gabe around to keep her company, but it sucked because she had wanted to see Joshua after school. And now that looked like it wasn't going to happen.
Toward the end of the school day, Claire found a quiet place just before last period to call Joshua, hoping that he wasn't stranded somewhere himself. She would give anything to be home right about now. Or at his place. Punching in his number, she sighed and stared outside the windows to the blanket of white.

Who: Nic and Jesse
When: morning
Where: on the way to school
Jesse couldn't remember the dude's name, but he knew that he'd given him hell the year before last in school. He'd been a sophomore, and Crazy Shithead Dude had been a senior. Apparently college hadn't worked out, so he'd taken the first opportunity to turn insane. Jesse hadn't seen him coming as he trudged his way to school through the snow, headphones firmly in place. He would've gotten a ride, but his mom had a treatment that morning, so he volunteered to walk. It was easy for him to block everything out. But Dude certainly had his attention when his 'phones had been snatched off of his head. In the few moments since then, there'd been nonsensical shouted words about the end of the world and the ghosts being one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse or some shit. It was hard to listen when you were pinned up against the side of a building.
"You really need to brush your teeth more, man," Jesse said as the crazy bastard got in all close again. He had his eyes squeezed shut, his glasses had gotten knocked off at some point, and he could only hope that neither of them had stepped on them.
TIME UPDATE
Submitted by praelitismods on Sun, 05/03/2009 - 11:03.
Weather: While the weather report said 'possible snow', what they should have said was 'bend over and prepare for badness'. The snow doesn't start immediately, but when it does hit, it's like a freight train. White out conditions hit hard and fast, and over two feet of snow is dumped on the town in less than an hour. While school started and was in session--it became clear very quickly that no one is going anywhere. People out in town are advised to stay wherever they are and not even attempt to brave the roads unless absolutely necessary. By one in the afternoon, it's announced that the students at MSHS are encouraged to stay in school, the gym, auditorium, and several other places in the building start getting prepared to have a mass sleep-over. Just about everything that can be canceled is canceled, and the town completely shuts down as the storm rages on, winds incredibly high and the snow making the world outside one big wall of white.
Events: The town's shut down for the most part, and even the plows and other city functions are shut down for the day, until it's safer to go out on the roads. No public transportation is running, and the chances of an accident are extremely high if anyone drives. Walking anywhere is out of the question.
If you have any events or anything going on which you think warrants a mention in the time update, please let us know!
