Dream of memory

nicleftstare

Who: Nic(Sera), NPCs Diego and Ricardo (D.J., Ricky)
Where: in dreams
When: late at night

She'd tried to avoid this, she really had. Exhaustion was her best hope, a whittling of the night hours to leave only a handful, a scant few to sleep in just to let her mother think she'd been here all night. But even those few? Well, they were enough room for the dreams to come. Curled in bed with her sheets knotted tight in her grip, Nic shook and trembled on the mattress, a thin sheen of sweat on her face as she dreamed of fire.

Just Hanging Out

default user pic

Who: Alexis and Kyle
When: After hockey practice
Where: Don't know yet!

After hockey practice ended, Kyle quickly showered and changed before saying goodbye to Gabe and a couple of the other guys. He was suppose to meet up with Alexis at the school, since she would have been finishing up with dance practice around the same time. He was looking forward to just hanging out with her for awhile. Knowing they had plans, he left his bike at home that morning so he would be able to walk with her, and once he got back to the school, he dumped his things into his locker before heading out to track her down. He hoped she hadn't changed yet, since he really liked the little uniforms they wore. Then again, they were only practicing, so chances were she wasn't dressed up. Not that it mattered. Kyle found he quite liked the way she looked in just about anything - and more so nothing at all.

Alexis had been looking forward to hanging out with Kyle the whole time during practice, only afterward realizing that she didn't have a place to shower like the guys did. Not that she got super sweaty, but she was self conscious about it, and she didn't want him to think that she smelled. It was just something she'd have to deal with, apparently, and as the practice area began to clear, she took a seat on the floor to change her shoes.

Where: Joshua's apartment, mostly

After a remarkably shitty day, Claire was more than ready to call it quits and retreat to her room and study for her math test for the remainder of the night. But as she sat in her car after school let out, she was feeling a bit restless and agitated, and given she hadn't talk to Josh in a couple of days, she wanted to see him. She kept her car running to let it heat up and pulled out her phone to type in a quick text, hoping she wasn't interrupting his classes, or work. It took her a couple of minutes to think of something decent to say.

Who: Olivia and Judiel
When: night
Where: California and Elsewhere

They'd been camping for several nights now, and Judiel thought successfully so. They were out far enough that they felt nice and isolated, but not so far that they couldn't drive to the nearest service station for fresh water and supplies. He'd been righteously enjoying himself, sleeping out on sleeping bags with the top tent-vent open to the stars and the fresh air. It felt wonderful, being outside so much, and he honestly didn't miss Marquette in the least. It was warmer where they were, but not overly hot, and scenic. The hiking and fishing were good, the company even better. The longer he spent out there with Olivia in the wilderness, the more he felt for her.

They'd settled in for the night as usual, after dark and after the fire had died down, bellies full and mostly nude in the sleeping bag. The electric lantern he'd brought plenty of batteries for was on in the corner with a t-shirt thrown over it to mute the light. But it wasn't pitch-black, at least. Judiel had drifted off pleasantly, not expecting to wake up until the morning light bothered his eyes enough to make them open. It didn't turn out that way, however. Hours before light ever touched the sky, he frowned reflexively in his sleep, consciousness bubbling up rapidly as he realized that he was much colder than he should've been.

huge mouth ok fingers

Who: Bruce and Jesse
When: after school
Where: the sidewalk and Mya's

Jesse had heard about the supposed fight going down -- and then not going down -- at the flagpole, and hadn't thought much about it. He sure as hell didn't go to watch. Aaron Lancaster was not his best friend in the least, and if Bruce's sister wanted to beat the shit out of him, Jesse figured she probably had her reasons. So he'd just put his headphones back on and went about his day. At least until the last bell rang, and he found himself looking for the blonde-headed all-American cutie. Bruce, that was, not his twin. He wasn't exactly sure why, outside of his own desire for company of the Bruce Barrow variety, but it didn't really bear much thinking about. He hung out around the front door as all the jostling teenagers streamed past, headphones over his ears, eyes scanning the crowd while his mind did more or less the same thing.

Bruce was going over what homework he had to do that night in his head, and what could be put off until the next day or the weekend. He was also thanking his ancestors that his parents hadn't been notified about his little fight that morning. Hitting Aaron had felt great in the moment, sure, but the consequences were what he hated. He felt like he'd been doing so much better on the bully front since moving to Michigan, too. Now though? He was second guessing himself. That couldn't really be a part of who he was, he tried to convince himself. Yeah, so he got mad about certain things pretty easily and couldn't stand his family's name being dragged through the mud, but he had to learn some self control. Avoidance was going to have to be the key with Aaron, even if it worked better in theory if Aaron didn't randomly walk up to him bitching about his own issues. As he exited the school, hands holding his backpack straps, he was on autopilot while his mind tried to work out how to not be the same bully he was back in Salt Lake.

Who: Kavin and Nate
When: 8pmish
Where: Phones and Kavin's

Kavin hadn't seen Nate that day. He'd skipped out on gym and still hadn't worked up the want to head into the cafeteria, so he decided that maybe those brownies sitting on the counter could get some good use. Might as well share the wealth right? So he picked up his cell unlocked his front door before plopping down on the couch and leaning his head against the cushion, legs propped on his coffee table. He was far too lazy to move again when Nate arrived, should he so choose. Ticking out a message, he couldn't help but grin a little knowing Nate would know exactly what he meant. Even if it was just one little word.

Brownies?

Talk about a text message that got right to the point, Nate thought as he read it, chuckling quietly to himself. ur place? He sent back and it was only for feeling too lazy to start writing up long-ass messages that he didn't question where said brownies had come from. The mental image of Kavin in an apron being domestic briefly crossed his mind to amuse him but he suspected this had more to do with the new girl and her bakery status than Kavin's sudden love for baking.

Cassandra had been glad for a relatively normal school day. There had been a lot of actual learning and paying attention and trying not to worry about how the news reporters in this town were completely useless. Her Gramma had tried to assuage her fears that morning over breakfast, but it was hard to take the calming words completely to heart when she was so nervous about the whole animal attack thing.

Those last few days at school had been ridiculous and Aaron was not happy. Joining the dance team was supposed to be fun and productive but so far it was just bringing him trouble. Stupid girls, stupid Bruce, stupid school! He unlocked the door to his house and got inside, dumping his bag in the hallway and slamming the door shut. "Mom!" He called out, kicking off his shoes and hanging up his coat before heading into the living room. "Mom, I'm home. Are you awake?"

Who: Gabe and Claire
Where: MSHS, History Class
When: Last class

By the time seventh period rolled around, Gabe was starting to get the feeling people were talking about him. Not everyone, but just enough that he'd taken notice of wayward glances followed by little smirks and whisperings. It wasn't enough for him to call anyone on it, not yet, though if it got any worse he definitely would. He hadn't done anything worth talking about, at least to his knowledge, so he'd ignore it until it became a problem. Strolling into History, Gabe plopped down in his chair, stretching his legs out in the aisle. He was about ready for this day to be over.

Claire entered the classroom not more than ten seconds after Gabe did, offering him a small smile before she sat down in her seat beside him and immediately went to pulling out her books and homework. "So I heard there was suppose to be this big rumble at the flagpole today. I was thinking the Sharks versus the Jets, but apparently it wasn't as epic as that."

Who: Kavin and Jeri
Where: The grocery store, then Jeri's place, then Kavin's place
When: After school

Jeri was reading off a really wrinkled piece of paper that had been crumpled and stained so many times it was barely legible. She treated it like it was made out of the finest of gold leaf, though. One day she'd get around to recopying it or something, but that day was not, obviously, today. "Right, so, we're going to need... unsweetened chocolate, a hell of a lot of butter, half a carton of eggs, a really big bag of Splenda, vanilla - none of that fake shit. I will personally dump out any fake vanilla you have in your house down the sink, I kid you not - flour, salt, and roasted walnuts." She would've suggested adding rum and bourbon to the recipe, but she didn't know who else was going to be eating the brownies she was planning on making. "Do you have any of that stuff at home at all?"

"Uh... Eggs and salt." he offered up, realizing he had absolutely little of the ingredients. "And fake vanilla that apparently is going to be poured down the sink now." he smiled. The day had surprisingly been alright. Aside from the constant questions, most of which he ignored. He could care less about the whole mess. So now he was in a grocery store, shopping. Something he hardly ever did unless absolutely necessary. "You know I hate shopping right?" he questioned. "Is this like your idea of torture? Cuz it's working." Kavin teased.

Who: Jessalyn and Gabe
When: After lunch
Where: Algebra

There was a definite benefit to getting to class early. There weren't many people around so there wasn't much noise, and Jessalyn could sit in her seat and draw designs in her sketchbook, or work on a hat, or pair of gloves she might be crocheting for people. When she tried to do it in a busy classroom, sometimes people stared at her, or snickered, though she could never figure out why. She supposed some people saw crocheting or knitting as something old women did, but she found it fun and it was always rewarding to be able to hand people the tiny gifts she made. Right now, however, she was busy trying to figure out what she wanted to make herself for Halloween. She was running out of time, and she knew if she wanted to have a fun costume, she needed to design it, buy the materials and sew it together soon. Sadly, all she found herself sketching was a bumblebee outfit, and that wasn't exactly original or fun.

So there was precious little Leija felt like she could do for Caleb that was any kind of direct, but without actual contact. She had plans to hang out with Rose later, which might help things there, if they got to talking about anything, but who knew. So she went with the one real idea she'd had so far. After school, she'd gone grocery shopping. Along with the stuff she'd bought for her and her dad, she filled a few bags -- but not more than she could carry on foot -- full of things for the Lockwood brothers. During the vampire bullshit, their fridge had been woefully understocked, and she had a feeling it probably wasn't any different now.

Who: Chance and Thom
When: Before lunch
Where: Halls

It had been awhile since Chance had spoken to Thom. The two weren't friends and they shared only one thing in common - Kaysen. So he generally didn't make it a point to find the guy on a daily basis to say hello. But he also didn't blatantly ignore him when they were in the hallway at the same time, like they were now. He remembered what Kaysen had said about Thom at the bonfire and while he was secretly kind of happy that she was still so pissed off at him, he also felt bad, since he knew she was upset about it. He nodded to Thom as he approached, shifting his book bag from one shoulder to another. "Hey man, how's it going?"

Thom stopped as he was approached, cautiously shifting the weight of his guitar further onto his shoulder, until it knocked against the book bag he had hung over his other shoudler. He wondered what this was about, whether Kaysen was still pissy over... whatever she was pissy about this time. "Hey," he said, again, cautiously.

Okay, so it was childish and probably beneath him, but he hadn’t actually seen that much snow in his life and Mathias was at a point where he wanted to enjoy it. So, whilst his brothers weren’t looking, he’d taken himself off to the park, where he was busy building a snowman. He’d rolled up the first ball and set it down and he was just starting on the second, oblivious to the fact that he looked a little incongruous – a thirty-something guy in a thin jacket and no gloves rolling snow with a cigarette hanging out the corner of his mouth. But, he was weirdly content with his task.

When Charlotte left gym, she didn't go to the nurse. She went to her car. She felt as if the school was suffocating her, and she had to get far, far away. There was no way Aaron was going to to that damn flagpole to fight a girl, just no way. Instead he stalked off to the cafeteria and sat down with a dramatic sigh next to Heather - much to Brett's annoyance. "Did anyone look outside?" He asked. "Seriously? People are actually going out there, like there's going to be an actual fight. Like I'm actually going to go out there and beat up some girl."

By the time Nate finally showed up for gym it was a little bit of a disappointment that Kavin didn't show. Class was boring enough without someone to hang out with and bitch about it to. He'd been keeping an eye on Charlotte since the dream he'd stumbled into but that was from a distance so when he found himself paired up with her for exercises he saw his chance to do a little better than that. "Hey," he said softly, while they waited for instructions. "How have you been?"

Breezy had talked so much shit that day it was amazing it hadn't rotted her teeth. No way pussy boy would show up. No way. But she still hoped that he would - she had her heart set on pounding on him, dammit!

Several people had gathered outside to witness the potential fight, which was excellent. Breezy circled the flagpole and sighed dramatically. "I can't believe he's scared of little ole' me."
