who: caleb and nic
where: his house/her house/hospital
when: after school on
(a bit nsfw)
When Caleb got home from school that day, (thinking he was more paranoid than usual, with the weird bullshit happening, where he kept thinking he saw something then it just wasn't there) he was half planning on going to crash for a while before heading over to Nic's. He hadn't seen her in school, which he didn't find terribly surprising or anything, though it was a bit disappointing. That disappointment was quashed, however, when he got into his room. Because his bed? Was occupied. With a Nic.
Ooo, a ghost! Nifty.

Who: Lottie & [Open]
Where: Streets of Marquette
When: Evening
It was cold outside and there was snow, but that would not stop Lottie from going out. On the contrary, it only meant she had to dress warmer. So she left her apartment and hit the streets at Trick-or-Treating time intent on see all the kiddie costumes. The entire time she was out she saw rather strange things, but really paid no mind to them. She was out to enjoy people watching.
An Unexpected Halloween
Submitted by feelmywrath on Sun, 04/05/2009 - 18:17.Who: Dorian and Joey
Where: Joey's Apartment
When: Around sunset and onwards
Warning: NSFW
By the time Dorian was leaving to pick up Joey, he was starting to notice that the little tricks of light that had been happening all day were beginning to make a more concrete appearance. All day he'd think there was something there, just out of the corner of his eye, but as soon as he turned, it was gone. He'd been able to pass it off as an overactive imagination brought out by the holiday, but now he was positive it was more than that. It gave him goosebumps each time, shocked since he'd never possessed an ability to see beyond the norm. As he knocked on Joey's door, he wondered if she'd seen anything herself, or if she'd think he was crazy for mentioning it.

Who: Leija and Porter
When: evening
Where: out on the streets
Leija was ... slightly dumbfounded, even though she probably shouldn't have been. It was kind of like what had happened in PA, only ... bigger. It seemed, anyway. After she'd seen the transparent and very confused looking young man walking through her front yard, she'd walked out and taken to the streets. They hadn't flooded the whole town -- which was what she had always thought would happen if spirits were suddenly visible -- but there seemed to be plenty of them. A couple had even run by in what seemed to be a panic. None of them seemed threatening, so that was something. As fucked up as it was, it was a little bit of a relief to have some weirdness that wasn't trying to kill anyone. Especially on Halloween.
It seemed to have kept the trick-or-treaters at home, however. As for herself, she was just walking around, looking at things with something like wonderment. Was this only for tonight? What the hell had happened, anyway? Oh god she recognized that one over there ...
Bad Influence
Submitted by charlieangel on Sun, 04/05/2009 - 15:27.Who: Ransom and Charlotte
When: After the party
Where: Her house
Nobody stayed late, but nobody had ever intended on staying late in the first place - it being a school night and all. Charlotte had tried very hard not to become distracted by ghostly news, but that wasn't easy. As much fun as it had been, she was somewhat relieved when the party was over, and there was a bit more space in her own head. After closing the door after one of the last to leave, she turned back to face Ransom and gave him a small smile. "Hey."
"Hey," he smiled back at her. "You threw a good party." He'd definitely enjoyed himself, even if it meant not spending very much time alone with her. He had her now that everyone was gone, so that was enough, even if they were cleaning up. Not that there was a ton to clean; one of the good things about a less rowdy party was that people did a better job at cleaning up after themselves. "Did you have fun?"
...Ghosts?
Submitted by charlieangel on Sun, 04/05/2009 - 15:27.Who: Charlotte (and her mom)
When: Around 9
Where: Home/phone
Everyone at the party was mostly finished with their third and final slasher flick when Charlotte's cellphone rang. Seeing it was her mom, she quietly excused herself to the kitchen - which was now full of gutted pumpkins and innards, and would probably smell like a pumpkin patch until about late July. "Hello?"
"Hi, sweetie! Is the party still on?"
"Yeah, we're watching movies." Charlotte answered, a little clueless as to why her mom would be calling. She had made a big deal about not wanting to bother Charlotte during her first ever hosting duties.
"Oh, great. I hope you kids are having fun. Listen, I'm still out with Sylvie - we've had dinner and now we're going to go down to the church. You know, just in case it's Armageddon. Would you like me to pick you up on the way, or do you feel you've made your peace with God?"

Jules was completely and utterly petrified by the time Blaine left her house. She'd seen far more that night than she thought she could handle and she honestly, just didn't want to be alone for any reason if she could help it. So she grabbed her phone and hid in her closet. Closets were safe from ghosts, right? Finding Aiden's name in her contacts, she called him, fingers shaking with the phone in her hand. "Please pick up... please pick up..."
The Bee's Knees
Submitted by consuming_souls on Sun, 04/05/2009 - 13:28.Who: Joshua and Claire
When: Evening
Where: Joshua's Apartment
NSFW
After dropping Gabe off back home, Claire drove to Tourville, slowly of course, seeing as how she didn't want to hit the stragglers from trick or treat. Or the... ghosts. She would have been afraid, but the town wasn't on fire, or imploding into chaos - thus far - and after the last couple months? It wasn't so shocking. In fact, it was kind of cool. Spirits of the undead roaming around on Halloween? It beat rabid, flesh hungry werewolves any day. When she got to Joshua's, she parked and hurried out of her car, eager to see if he saw them too. She grabbed the two small pumpkins from her backseat, and the bag of carving utensils and turned to head into his apartment complex.
Halloween Horrors
Submitted by Pirouette on Sun, 04/05/2009 - 08:52.Who: Dylan and May
Where: Phone then Alden's house
When: Right on dusk
Dylan's day had been busy. Aside from school, he had fought with his brother and had a father-son chat with Frank which had been strange. Good, in a way, but still very strange and uncomfortable in parts. And his dad had denied him the right to turn the attic into his bedroom which was unfair but it also meant that Dylan finally packed his clothes and things into the set of drawers beside his bed. It didn't make him feel any more at home but maybe it would help him find his gym socks easier each morning. Even though they had fought in the morning, he was still mad at Nate for what he had said in the car and since he couldn't hide in the attic any more than he already did, he had pushed the two beds as far apart as the small room would allow and added electrical tape down the middle of the floor to divide it in an almost comical way.
The whole time he had been working on fixing his bedroom, there had been an annoying flicker of light darting around the room but he brushed it off. It was just the dreamcatcher hanging from the curtain rod or a car going past. Something, anything, that sounded rational because the alternative was much scarier and he didn't want to think about it. By the time he was finished, the light from outside was fading and he needed to call May. He picked up the phone, typed her number in and counted the rings it took before she answered on the other end.

When: Evening
Where: Kavin's house
Warning: NSFW
Nate slept like a log through the day, his body realizing more than he did how much sleep he really needed. He was dead to the world in a dreamless (and dreamwalkless) slumber and didn't wake up until it was after dark. He felt insanely groggy as he sat up, peering around the dim lit room and trying to figure out just where the hell he was. He'd never slept there before so it took him a few long moments to puzzle out whose room it was and what he was doing there. And then the question of where Kavin was entered his mind. He noticed the handwritten note then and turned on the lamp to read it. Kavin had gone to get Peyton and would be back later. Right. Nate stretched and frowned down at his clothes. It was pretty gross to sleep with clothes on and he really needed to brush his teeth. Badly. He was lamenting his lack of toothbrush when something... someone came gliding through the wall. Nate was pretty used to that, he'd seen that more often than he liked when he was younger but it still startled him. A ghost, staring at him with wide eyes and looking around in confusion. "You can..." It said but the rest of the sentence was swallowed by static, then quiet, even as its lips kept moving.
Nate stared, his heart still hammering in his chest. He'd never seen a ghost in Kavin's house before let alone... two? The alarm on Kavin's nighstand started moving, finally falling off his table and cracking as it hit the floor and whoever had pushed it was manifesting right there. An angry looking man, angry and confused. Nate was about to scurry away but the ghost beat him to it, pounding on the closet door before disappearing through it.
The other one followed and Nate sat dead still before grabbing his phone.
dude he punched out. u have a ghost problem. He hit send, then stared at the wall where the second ghost had disappeared.
Another Secret to Keep

Who: Isaac and Kavin
When: Around five PM
Where: Isaac's house
Kavin couldn't shake the flickers anymore. They were there. Something was there. Every time he turned his head he could see something. He had no clue what he was seeing, but he knew it was getting annoying. Making it hard to drive. Hard not to pay attention to every angle he could at the same time.
But he forced the flickers to take a backseat. He had to talk to Isaac. For Peyton. She needed him more than she might be letting on, and though Kavin knew that Isaac was going through a lot of crap, being everyone's shoulder, he felt that Isaac should know a few things. Against his better judgment, one more person would need to know his secret. But this was for Peyton, and Isaac would keep the secret. Even Peyton thought so.
So after he dropped her off at her house, he headed over to Issac's for a long overdue chat. Knocking lightly, he waited for his friend to answer.

The sun hadn't set yet when the party started, which was a good reason for why the party was still on in the first place. Even if it was a kind of silly, geeky party, and a lot smaller than most, Charlotte was proud of her first-ever party. They had horror movies, pumpkin carving, and tables full of Halloween themed baked goods. And of course, costumes! Thankfully the animals were on their best behavior, but some of the cats kept darting between furniture to scope things out. None of them were used to a lot of people being in the house. This was definitely a first.

Submitted by charlieangel on Fri, 04/03/2009 - 01:25.Who: Kaysen and Charlotte
When: After school
Where: Kaysen's house
Charlotte still had a lot to do before the party, but most of it was quick work she could do before everybody got there. Before she went to pick up Ransom and pick out movies, she wanted to spend some time with Kaysen. She figured if anyone would be excited over Charlotte's first threatening encounter, it'd be Kaysen. Plus, she wanted to make sure she was still coming to the party. All good things. As soon as she put her books away, she headed across the street.
Kaysen was up in her room, and she saw Charlie walking across the street. By now she'd almost forgotten that it was Halloween. That there were things going on that totally didnt' stop for her breakdown or...'break' with Chance, or his mom being a killer or anything like that. But the world kept turning. People kept doing whatever they were doing. At least no one had come asking her if it was her who'd started the fire at school. She waited a few minutes, til she heard the knock on her door, and she looked back over at it. "C'min." she said, squishing the statement into one word.
Talking It Out
Submitted by brokenisbetter on Fri, 04/03/2009 - 00:36.Who: Peyton and Kavin
When: Shortly after 3
Where: Outside the hospital
Kavin set the alarm on his phone to vibrate just before he needed to be at the hospital to pick up Peyton. Nate was still conked out when he woke up and he wasn't about to make the kid get up. He hadn't been getting much sleep and he knew that. Far be it for him to wake the boy up now. So he left a note on his pillow letting him know that he went to get Peyton and that he'd be back soon, then drove off to the hospital.
He got there right on time and parked out in front, turning the car off and waiting for her to emerge from the building. The entire way over he kept thinking he was seeing things. Little flashes. Sparks. Flickers of something or someone out of the corner of his eye. He leaned back now against the seat and shook his head. "Please God don't let something else fucked up happen. We just had damn werewolves. And I've got drama enough for the whole town. Don't let there be ghosts too."
The Veil is Shredded
Submitted by syns_kept on Thu, 04/02/2009 - 23:09.
Who: Seph and open!
When: night
Where: Cemetery Park
Seph was practically giddy. This? Was amazing. He'd been dreading Halloween and what it might bring to them, but this ... this he could definitely deal with. He'd seen spirits his entire life, always been able to communicate with them, always aware of when they were around. But things felt different now, completely different. And other people could see them as well. He'd been holding conversations all night long, speaking with them, trying to calm some of them down. Nobody knew what was going on, and at any other time, that might've worried him. Now, though, now he didn't really care. It was too ... something. He didn't have the words for it.
Worlds had merged, one of the questionable gifts he'd always had had bled into everyone else's brains, they were all gifted now. The playing field was just a touch more level. People would know now, they couldn't deny their own dead loved ones in their faces. The Veil was shredded, ripped to pieces, it was a whole new world! Or maybe he was just a little high from being in the cemetery so long. He was perched up on top of a wider headstone, crouched there like a gargoyle and watching one of the more confused spirits drift around and try to get her bearings with a huge grin on his face. Even if it was just for the night, this changed so much.
Awaiting Darkness - 4:57PM
Submitted by blaine on Thu, 04/02/2009 - 18:37.I grow weary, waiting on this perpetual sun to set. I've found myself restless, wishing that I could spend this lonely time further investigating the odd scents I faced as I had my nightly run through this new town. It smells as if there is blood that is unclean here. But I don't understand what this means. Are there other species here, other sorts of supernatural? Dottie mentioned the way they would smell, and I feel like this may be right. I could have sworn I passed someone while I was running that had no pulse, also.
After school special
Submitted by justdylan on Thu, 04/02/2009 - 17:16.Who: Dylan and Frank
Where: Alden residence
When: Mid afternoon/after school
Dylan had told Nate that he had better things to do and that he didn't really need a ride home from school but when classes had ended for the day and he had nowhere else to be, he gave up pretending and headed home instead. He had stomped his way home through the snow and by the time he walked into the front door of his home, his legs were soaked and he was cold. At least Nate's car wasn't in the driveway so that meant he wasn't home and Dylan was glad. He had successfully avoided his older brother for most of the day and wasn't ready to see him again yet. He didn't know what he wanted to say or if he should apologise, if he even wanted to. No, it was safer not to think about that stuff yet. He headed into the bedroom to pull on a pair of dry sweatpants then headed to the kitchen to find something to eat. Frank was already there working at the kitchen table. He wasn't surprised. He was there regularly working on insurance papers or something, Dylan didn't ask for many details about it. It always sounded boring whenever he got the briefest of answers about it. Well, when he did ask anyway.
Dylan mumbled a hello as he headed to the fridge and opened the door. He wasn't even that hungry but it was habit to look anyway. It was almost always the first place he went to when he got home from work so he peered into it anyway and stared blankly at the shelves. Finally he shut the door and moved to prop himself up onto a kitchen counter. He wriggled to get himself comfortable and watched his father across the room. "Dad," he said after a while when Frank barely seemed to notice him and he got sick of being ignored. He chewed on his bottom lip for a moment then spoke up again. It had been on his mind for most of the day and he needed to know, "Are we leaving soon? Nate said we probably would."

Who: Ransom and Drea
When: lunchtime
Where: MSHS
Drea had a headache. That was something that was pretty much normal now, though. She felt tired and sluggish, but she couldn't afford to miss too many days of school. They would start calling her dad and that was just too much attention for him. He didn't like it. Maybe when she was eighteen she could drop out, but not until then. So school it was, even though she kept swearing she was seeing shit all morning. Maybe it was just pain or over-exhaustion or just ... something else. She knew it wasn't good drugs, unfortunately. She could use some of those.
Lunchtime came around and she grabbed her sack lunch -- not nearly as packed as it usually was, her eating had started to fall off, which probably wasn't a good sign -- out of her locker and considered just sitting in the hallway. But even more, she wanted to just be around someone. So following her nose, mostly, she started a slow wander to try and find Ransom. Why Ransom, she didn't know, she just wanted him.

When: Evening (well past sunset)
Where: The Old Orphanage
There were... ghosts in Marquette. Apparently. They wandered above, appearing and disappearing with such ease that Wednesday wasn't quite sure if she had actually seen them. There had been nothing during the day. Nothing she had seen anyway. School had been rather boring, the people even more boring, and admittedly Wednesday hadn't paid much attention in any of her classes. Smiling and nodding seemed to placate the teachers for the most part. She had left burned marks on three of her desks, but not anything too damaging. They had all three been accidents anyway. Somehow.

By the time the bell rang for lunch, Chance realized he hadn't seen Kaysen all day. Usually he caught glimpses of her, even if he wasn't able to catch up and say hello or steal her away for a quick kiss or something. But today he couldn't recall seeing her, which had him on a mission as people filed into the lunch room. He wandered for a bit, looking in the library, some empty halls and classrooms to see where she'd hidden herself. Finally he walked outside, realizing she left school at lunch at times, despite the weather. Sure enough, he found her at the tennis courts and was thankful he'd pulled on his jacket. "Hey," he said, walking up to her. "You doing okay?" Chance wasn't oblivious to her mood lately, or the fact that she had been unusually quiet - at least with him.

Kavin wasn't in a good mood by the end of third period. His talk with Charlotte had him with added stress on top of the usual feelings of guilt and confusion and just plain 'tired of this shit' feelings. The locker room was slowly clearing out and eventually it was just him and Nate. Nate stuffing his gym clothes back into his locker. Well, he'd gotten an open invitation and he'd just sat there and watched the boy change moments before, inconspicuously of course, so he wanted to kiss him. And the room was empty...
Fuck it. he thought to himself as he headed over towards Nate, tossing his backpack over his shoulder and grabbing Nate by the collar of his shirt and shoving him up against his own locker. For a moment, if someone had walked in, it almost looked as if he was going to hit the boy or something, but a quick look around the room and he leaned in and pressed a kiss against the boys lips. Hard and forceful and quick. "We're skipping." he said, not really giving Nate much of a decision in the whole thing as he released his friend's shirt.

This is kind of delayed because I was nervous about doing it. Please don't feel obligated to respond if you don't want to. I hope everything else is okay with you, and that Halloween goes by quiet and safe. Take care.
