Conversation of a supernatural nature

Who: Lullaby and Joshua
Where: Streets of Marquette/Lullaby's house
When: After the movie night at Journey's

Joshua was sat on Journey's front steps as he waited for Lulu to finish saying good-bye. She hadn't asked him to walk her home and he hadn't actually offered but between them they had reached an unspoken agreement that there would him walking her home. Following Lulu's attack, he didn't like the idea of her walking around alone, particularly after dark and so he was going to do his boyfriend duty and look after her. Granted he had no idea if he could deal with something weird or not if it crossed their path but he did tend to know if something bad was gonna happen so worst case scenario, they run like the wind in the opposite direction. Anyway, all badness aside, it would be nice to have some alone time with Lulu. Movie night was a blast but it didn't exactly lend its self to private couplely-moments.

Private coupley moments were on Lulu's mind as well. After her attack and her decision to be pro-active in things(which was why she was doing the necklace thing), she was feeling a bit better. She knew she had to talk to Joshua anyhow, so she was gonna do that. When he walked her home. So after saying her goodbyes, and reminding Journey to behave in a playful sort of way, she walked out to Joshua, smiling up at him sweetly. "That was fun." she said, nudging him along so they could start walking. She took his arm with her hurt hand carefully, so she could still sign. "Thank you for coming, I'm really glad you did."

"Me too" Joshua replied as they turned out of Journey's garden and started moving along the sidewalk. Aware of Lulu's injured hand on his arm, he paid particular attention to where he was walking, not wanting for the pair of them to end up on the floor again and inflict even more damage. Looking down at her, he gave her a warm smiling before speaking. "How are you holding up? Gotta say, you're hand is looking much better already."

She smiled at him. "I'm doing better." she said. "Feeling better. I mean, I'm still a little scared, but it's okay right now. And I've kinda...worked some things out. When we get back to my house can you come in for a little while?" she asked. "I wanna talk to you about some of it. If that's okay, I don't want you to get into trouble or anything." she added.

Though he wasn't going to turn in down, Joshua was a little suprised by the invitation and tilted his head slightly as he gave Lulu a smile. "Sure I can" he replied wondering what she wanted to say to him. They hadn't spoken about her attack since Lulu had turned up at the apartment, insistant that her attacker was a dog. Running his free hand through his hair, he let out a small sigh. "I doubt it'll ruffle September's feathers if I'm a bit later home than I expected, it's not like you're taking me somewhere dangerous." And she's probably somewhere near bye and know's exactly what I'm doing anyway.

"Okay. Thank you." she said. "Did you have fun meeting everyone?" she asked instead, looking up at him as they walked. She'd really enjoyed herself. Having him there was really cool, he got to meet people she hung out with and the like, even if some of them were very new friends. That didn't really matter to her, she was all good with people.

"Yeah. It's been a while since I've met such a...mixed bunch of people" Joshua settled on replying. It wasn't that he had disliked anyone, far from it, but there were certainly some odd characters, the least of whom being Journey's girl but he wasn't about to voice that thought aloud. Still it made a pleasant change that he wasn't the weirdest person in the room, he thought to himself with a smile. "It's gonna be so boring when everyone heads back to school next month, I'm might go crazy with boredom."

Lullaby looked at him and laughed a little. "Awww." she said. "Are you gonna go to NMU?" she asked. "Be all collegy and the like and meet some hot sorority chicks and totally blow them off because you have me?" She beamed at him, smiling brightly as she fluttered her eyelashes at him.

Joshua couldn't help but laugh at Lulu's statement and gave her a brief kiss. "That would most definitly be the case, these so-called hot sorority chicks have got nothing on you" Joshua replied, grin firmly in place though completely serious in what he was saying. "Not gonna be going to college though, I'm all done with education. Much to my parent's dismay" he said, shoving his hand into his pocket. "I could have gone to uni back in Ireland but I wanted to travel, come see the States. That's how I wound up here in Marquette." Pausing for a moment, his smile grew slightly wider. "Of course, if I'd known I'd find an amazing girlfriend when I got here I might have left a bit sooner."

Lullaby giggled at that, delighted. She was easy to please as a general rule, and Joshua tended to be quite good at that. She blushed a little. This might have had something to do with the fact that she believed him. That he would totally blow off hot women because he wanted her. He was just that sort, or so it seemed. She was more than happy to go with that. "Anyone ever tell you you're the sweetest thing in the entire world?" she asked. "If they haven't, it's a crime, because you are."

And comments like that were the exact reason that Joshua loved being with Lulu. They also had the embarrasing ability of making him blush like nobody's business and generally make a prat of himself. But they were walking fairly slow so falling over could be avoided and it was probably dark enough to hide the blush. Awesome. "I think you might have mentioned it" he managed to reply once he got his brain to co-ordinate with his mouth. "Besides, I don't think you realise just how sweet you are" he offered shyly.

"Well, good!" she said. "And I'm sweet?" she asked, blushing faintly herself. "Well, I don't know about that. But I trust you, so I'll take your word for it." she told him, standing up on her tiptoes to give him a little brush of a kiss, possibly just a bit more serious seeming than their others usually were. She was feeling romantic, sue her.

Smiling at the brief kiss, Joshua pulled his hand from his pocket and gently cupped Lulu's cheek. "You should, I consider myself to be an excellent judge of how sweet you are" he said quietly before leaning down slightly and kissing her again. He didn't exactly know how it happened but he was pretty sure he was falling for Lulu in a big way, something he hadn't been expecting but was sure as hell glad it was.

She kissed him back, sort of giving over to it for a minute, because c'mon. She was sixteen, and she was entirely taken with this boy. He was being adorable and chivalrous, and she was going to indulge. So there. When she finally did pull back, she was smiling up at him, maybe a bit flushed in the cheeks. "I trust you." she told him. Then she took his hand again, and started tugging him back towards her house again, walking maybe just a little faster. She was a fan of getting him back inside. Really! Because they had talking to do. That was why. Seriously.

Alowing himself to be tugged without protest, Joshua picked up the pace slightly so Lulu would hurt her hand by pulling him along. He looked around, checking where they were. Although he had been to Lulu's house before, he had gone by a different route and had to admit he was slightly perplexed as to where they were. "Is it far to your place Lulu?" he asked, using a couple of sign gestures could pull off one handed. He wasn't trying to impress her of course, he was merely being a good boyfriend/student. His intentions were entirely honourable. Okay, maybe it was half and half but still, points for effort right?

"No, not far." Lullaby assured him. Though she was of course completely delighted with him signing. She was whenever she saw it, because she loved that he did that for her. Her beaming at him and looking like he'd just hit her 'AWW!' button articulated that just fine. "It's just up this street then around the corner." she said. So like a couple minutes tops. "Why? Lost?" she asked.

"I am never lost" Joshua proclaimed with entirely false bravado, thumping his chest in what he hoped was a man-ly fashion. Seeing the way Lulu was looking at him however, he was fairly sure she wasn't convinced. Adopting a slightly sheepish smile, he rubbed the back of his neck, not quite meeting her eye. "I'm just not sure where I am, that's all."

She giggled. "That's what's commonly referred to as 'lost', sweetie." Lullaby said, shaking her head at him. God, could he get cuter? She didn't think so. "Don't worry, a cab'll be called to bring you home." she added. Since things had happened with her, no way in hell was Joshua walking home alone. Juuust no. They turned the corner, and headed towards her house. If she didn't think running would probably have him bleeding from somewhere, she might have raced him.

"Right. I knew that" Joshua replied as once again he felt his cheeks grow warm. Given the amount of time he spent blushing around Lulu, he was suprised there was enough blood left to power the rest of his body. Still what was a little cardiac arrest compared to spending time with Incredibly Cute Girlfriend. He raised an eyebrow at Lulu's mention of a cab home but didn't comment on it. In fact it would probably earn him brownie points with September if he avoided walking home, something he could definitely do with. Spotting Lulu's house up ahead as they rounded the corner, Joshua flashed her a grin. "Huzzah! Your vastly superior navigation skills have brought us to our destination."

"I saved us! I'm awesome!" she cried, giggling as she headed up to her door and headed inside. Her parents weren't home yet, they'd gone out to a movie. Or something, she wasn't sure. She shut the door behind him. "Want anything?" she asked. Now that she had him there she wasn't sure how to go about talking to him about things. Probably should have figured that out before, but...she couldn't.

Joshua laughed as he followed Lulu into the house and gave her a wide grin. "That you are." he commented, kissing her on the cheek as she moved to close the door. At her question, he shoved his hands into his pockets and looked thoughtful for a moment. He didn't particularly want to provoke September by being even later home but then again Lulu wanted him to stick around. Really it wasn't a difficult decision. "I guess I could go for a soda." he replied with a smile as he reached for her hand again.

Lullaby took his hand then tugged him along to the kitchen where she got them both soda. "Here you go." she said, handing his over. "Um...I kinda wanna talk to you about something serious, and you might think I'm crazy. Just as y'know...a fair warning." she said, looking up at him through her eyelashes as she willed him not to think she was a total nutbar.

Cracking open his drink, Josua looked at Lulu and saw the expression on her face. Reaching over to touch her face, he gave her a small smile as he stroked her cheek. "Nothing you could say would make me think you're crazy" he said firmly, wanting her to know he was being as serious as she was. "Where do you want to do this?" Damn if that doesn't sound like you're talking about something else. Clarify you idiot. CLARIFY!! "Talk, I mean. Where do you wanna talk?"

"Um...well, I don't know when my parents are going to be home. So...my room? I'd rather not have them walk in in the middle of it." Lullaby said, then started past him to her room. She paused, though. His attention to her and the cute thing with her cheek, and being so supportive gave her warm fuzzies. So she put her arm partly around his middle and gave him a little one armed squeeze. Then she headed back to her room, shutting the door behind them.

And cue the mental flailing. Getting a vivid recollection of the last time he had been in Lulu's room, Joshua blushed slightly as he nodded in understanding, not quite trusting himself to vocalise a response. Stepping into the room behind Lulu, he had a brief moment of mental panic as he debated where was best to sit for serious conversation before spotting a swivel chair. Pulling the chair out from beneath her desk, he turned it to face the bed before dropping himself on to it.

Lullaby sat down on her bed, because it was dark out now and she didn't like her window seat so much when it was dark. So, bed! Which might have been more comfortable with Joshua on it with her, but they were going to be talking, so it was probably best he was over there. She sat indian style with her back against the wall, arms hugging a star shaped pillow. "It's about my attack. What happened to me. Um...and the necklaces, I guess. I..." she paused, drawing in a deep breath and letting it out slowly to try to center herself. "Well, I was talked to by a...a friend, and he told me that I wasn't attacked by a dog."

At the mention of Lulu's attack, any stray thoughts went flying out of Joshua's head and he pulled the chair forward so his knees were touching the side of the bed. He had noticed the necklace thing but hadn't realised the significance of it, not recognising the nature of the pendants but at Lulu's admission the pieces clicked together in his head. She knew. Immeadiatly curious as to the identity of this friend, he tried to push that train of thought aside as he rested his hand on Lulu's knee. "What did he say it was?" he said levelly, trying to keep his voice neutral and possibly for the first time ever wished September was on hand to advise.

She looked down at his hand, and put her hurt one over it so she could still sign with the other. "He said it was a...he said monsters were real." she said. "God, I know that sounds really stupid and crazy, but Unc backed him up on that too, so...it's got to be. I'm sorry, like I said, please don't think I'm crazy."

Feeling a surge of annoyance towards whoever this friend was who had dropped this deeply uninformative bombshell in Lulu's lap, Joshua ran his hand through his hair as he tried to think how best to reply. "It's not crazy" he finally settled on saying, wishing he was better at the whole conversation thing. "Why do you think I've started wearing this?" he said, pulling his cross from beneath his shirt.

She looked at the shirt, and seemed to feel a little better. Reaching out, she took it from him, running her thumb over it. "It's nice." she said. "I've got this." she added, tugging the pentacle out from beneath her shirt. "I was told to wear a religious symbol of some kind. So...I went and bought as many as I could find, and I've been giving them to people in hopes it'll help. I don't know much of anything though, but you...you don't think I'm crazy?" she asked, looking him in the eyes with a wholly vulnerable look in her own.

Taking a deep breath to steady himself, Joshua captured Lulu's hands between his own before meeting her eyes, praying he wasn't about to screw things up between them entirely. "You know when we talked about Ireland being haunted and I told you I believed in ghosts" he began, pausing a moment before continuing. "That wasn't quite true. I don't believe in them, I know they exist. Like I know monsters are real. And angels." Please be okay with this he screamed in his head as he waited for Lulu's reaction.

She blinked at him. "...Unc said there were nice things too." she said, remembering what Lee had told her. "You knew? Did you know the other night?" she asked. "I know I wasn't there long. Does September know? God, is there anything else I don't know that you could tell me?" she asked, then looked pained again. "I'm sorry, one question at a time..."

Biting his lip nervously, he tried to think how best to answer her without inadvertantly signing his own death certificate when September found out about this conversation. "It's okay, you don't have to apologise Lu. I figured it wasn't a dog that attacked you, though I couldn't say what did even if I'd seen it myself. September felt the same way, she...well she's the one who told me about all this stuff." He decided to forgoe mentioning the fact she was his guardian angel until he'd actually spoken to her. Of course that would inevitably mean he would have to explain why he needed a guardian, something he wasn't looking forward to.

At her final question, Joshua cast his eyes to the ceiling as he debated telling her about his ability. Making up his mind, he looked over to the desk where his soda was still sitting. Letting go of Lulu's hands, not wanting to put too much stock in his skill, he concentrated on the can and after a few moments flew into his hand. And in the process emptied most of it's contents into his lap. "That could have gone better" he said with a blush as the soda began to seep through his jeans.

Lullaby was left blinking at him as the can floated across her room. Then she winced and she got up, going to grab him a towel. There was one in her room that she'd used hours ago on her hair, so she grabbed it for him then put it into his lap. "How did you do that?" She asked, sort of half patting his lap with the towel before realizing that was a bad idea. He had parts there and stuff. So she sat back, almost sitting on her hands, before she remembered that that would be the worst idea she'd had in the history of her ideas ever.

First there was a whole lot more blushing with regards to Lulu's hands in the vicinity of his lap. Then as he began to dry himself Joshua realised he didn't actually know how to answer her question. "I don't know really. September say's it a psychic ability as opposed to me being something, I dunno, weird I guess. Apparently you can be born with it but she said it was possibly triggered by a traumatic event, like when I almost drowned. All I know is that I'm not very good at controling it so things have a tendencey to hit me in the head."

"Really?" Lullaby asked. "And you almost drowned? That's not good!" she said. She knew he was accident prone, but that wasn't good at all! She hated that idea. She almost wanted to ask him if he was okay in an irrational sort of way. Obviously he was he was alive and well and in her room. "Do you practice a lot? Psychic...I know stuff off of movies and stuff from that. But I don't think I know anyone else who is." Smiling at him a little shyly, she had to add: "It's really cool though."

She isn't freaking out, she thinks it cool. Awesome! were the thoughts running through Joshua's head at that moment as he finally figured he was as dry as he was going to get with a towel. "I don't really practice much as it freaks September out. She says I get in enough trouble as it is whereas the way I see it is I need as much control as possible. I think she's worried I'm going to end up decapitating myself or something." Placing the towel over the back of the chair, he turned back to Lulu with a smile as shy as her's. "I'm glad you're not freaked out."

She smiled at him. "Joshua, you're like, the sweetest guy I've ever met, and you're just...awesome. All the way around. 'Course I'm not gonna be freaked out. It's really cool. When you're around me you can practice!" she told him. Because it'd be so neat to see, and she agreed that he should probably learn to control it. Why have something if you couldn't?

Okay, that confirmed it. Lulu was quite possibly the best girlfriend in the entire history of boy/girl relations and most importantly she was with him. Life officially rocked. "That's a great idea!" he replied as he scooted himself onto the bed next to her. Now the serious talking seemed to be over, he felt relaxed enough to sit next to her and gave her a wide smile. "You're pretty damn awesome yourself" he said before leaning in to kiss her.

Kissing was good. They could kind of go over the other stuff again at some point. But truthfully, she was still nervous about it all, so she was just going to be ecstatic that he didn't think she was crazy, believed her, and everything was going to be okay. She believed that. So...yeah. Kissing was in order, and so she gave fully into that, kissing him back. She may even have deepened it a bit, even if she was less sure of herself than it may appear.

Raising one hand to cup her cheek and with the other, lacing his fingers through hers, Joshua gently probed her lips with his tongue. He was in no hurry and wanted to avoid pressuring Lulu into something she wasn't ready or didn't want to do but damn kissing her felt amazing. However, oxygen soon became a pressing factor and he broke the kiss, slowly opening his eyes. When they met hers he gave her a warm smile. "You are so pretty" he said quietly, the thought spoken aloud before he realised what he was doing.

Lullaby's cheeks flushed red, and she gave him a shy sort of smile. It was definitely a nice one though, and supplied her with the confidence she needed to grab him and give him a serious kiss. One that involved parting her lips and tongues and a rush through her system that made her feel all warm all over. Yep. Sweetest boy ever.

Despite being two years older, Joshua was fairly inexperienced when it came to girls and it wasn't a lie to say he had never had a kiss like this before. Sure there had been the odd kiss but they were nothing compared to this; it was warm and wet and it felt like there was a flock of seagulls flapping in stomach. His heart was racing and it was like the rest of the world had fallen away. Yes, I could definitely get used to this a small part of him thought as he moved his hands to rest on the small of her back.

Lullaby's arms went up around his neck, and she continued with it, also of the opinion that this could be gotten used to really really fast. Because eee! Crack addicted butterflies were bouncing around inside her everywhere, and it was so incredibly nice! Like falling, but not having to worry about hitting bottom.

Making sure he had a firm hold around her and that they weren't at risk of toppling off the bed, Joshua slowly leant back so he was lying flat on the bed with Lulu on top of him. Resisting the urge to let his hands move somewhere decidely less safe than her back, instead he deepened the kiss, gently sucking on her lower lip.

The crack-butterflies were worse now, as she went with him and kissed him back. She let her knees drop to his sides, getting comfortable on him as she did so. And she was starting to get why people liked this so much. There was nothing about it that didn't feel amazing. Nothing at all.

Despite his best intentions, Joshua's hands soon began to wander, one sliding up to rest between her shoulders while the other moved to her hip. Barely aware of his intrepid appendages, Joshua was lost on how unbelievably fantastic this felt and couldn't help but wonder if kissing felt this good what sex would feel like. And that was the moment that his blood decided to abandon the brain and move somewhere distinctly further south.

Being where she was, Lulu noticed. Which she decided wasn't at all a bad sort of thing. It sort of made her feel like she was doing something right. And seriously making out with Joshua felt right to her. she definitely had no part in attempting to stop his wandering hands. She was cool with that, and it wasn't like he was groping her or anything. Just...touching. Good touching.

Increasingly aware of just how much of an effect kissing Lulu was having on his anatomy, Joshua rolled them sideways so they were both laying on the bed. Blushing slightly, which was something of a miracle given he didn't think there was any blood left in his head, he moved his hand to brush some stray hair back from her face. Embarrassment aside, he really wasn't in a hurry to stop.

She grinned at him when he brushed the hair from her face, and went to kiss him again--only that was when she saw the flasher in her room that said when the front door had opened. That had her scrambling--right off the end of the bed, actually. She landed on the floor then burst into giggles, looking up all flush cheeked at him, terribly embarrassed, but hey. Good mood.

Okay, there was no longer kissing and Lulu was on the floor giggling. Joshua wasn't entirely sure what was happening until he heard voices coming from the lounge and figured her parents were home. This thought quickly changed to Lulu's parents who had never met him were home and he was making out with their daughter with clear evidence that he was enjoying himself a little too much. Grabbing the star cushion, he quickly sat up, holding the cushion in front of him. "So, I'm guessing your parents are home?"

Lullaby clapped a hand over her mouth and looked up at him, nodding. Standing up, she stood on her tiptoes to give him a quick, playful sort of kiss. "I'll give you a minute, then you come out to meet them?" she suggested. She thought that would work. Or...should. She didn't know that much about how boys worked though. What with the screaming lack of experience...

"Sounds like a plan" Joshua replied, a sheepish sort of smile on his face as he began running over various signs in his head in an attempt to get rid of his problem. As it was, the prospect of meeting Lulu's parents was already having the desired effect and he felt sufficiently calm enough to return the cushion to the bed. Giving himself a few minutes for his brain to shift back into conversation mode, he took a deep breath and followed Lulu into the lounge.
