datestuffs!
Who: Eben and Stacey
Where: out!
When: Early Evening
Stacey sat on the porch waiting for Eben. She could have waited inside, but it was pleasant enough outside she didn't mind. Then there was the benefit of snagging the would-be boyfriend before the parentals got a chance to grill him. She rifled in her purse for her cell phone to check her messages. He was picking her up here, right? She hate to think she got confused and forgot to meet him at the restaurant.
Eben was in fact, meeting her there. He'd gotten them a cab, since he didn't drive, and it pulled up outside her house. He got out, and smiled at her, heading up the walk towards her. "Hey." he said, looking pleased. He still looked beat up, what with the road rash on his face and everything, but that didn't seem to be bothering him. In fact, he looked stupidly happy instead. He was. He was going out on a date with Stacey, he was a happy bunny.
Stacey practically skipped over to him and took his hands into her own. "If I had known you needed a cab, I could have asked my mom if I could borrow the car." She gave his hands a little squeeze, "So how are you?"
He smiled at her and squeezed her hands back, looking very pleased to see her. "You look beautiful." he told her easily, appreciating how she looked in the specific lighting they were in. "I'm very good, especially now." he said. Because who couldn't be all kinds of good when one was with a girl such as Stacey, and about to go out on a date? Whoever couldn't be happy right now was insane. "And you?"
"Great, wonderful even." Stacey resisted the urge to give a little excited bounce. "So ready to go?"
"I'm ready!" Eben said, starting to tug her along towards the cab. "So...are you good with italian? That's where I was thinking we could go...Casa, maybe or the Villa. I'm good wherever though, honestly, so if you'd rather something else, that's fine." he said.
"Italian's fine, but I thought we were doing Chinese. Did you change your mind?"
Eben laughed. "No, I'm distracted, and didn't remember. But we can do Chinese too. Or...instead. Too would be too much food. Then there might be explosions. I was thinking a date that was free of explosions." he said thoughtfully, holding the car door for her before he got in after her.
"How about whichever's closet?" Stacey got into the cab and scooted over to make room for Eben. "We'll do the other one next time."
