lullaby lookdown

Who: Billy and Thia
Where: Osbourne Residence
When: mid morning

It was clear by mid-morning that the shadows were gone, which really - Billy couldn't be happier about. He was packed within minutes - though, seriously, they didn't have much to 'pack', they'd got down here in such a hurry. Mostly, they'd just been borrowing clothes. But, Maddie and Billy were all ready to get out of here, the dreamwalker just had one thing to do first.

He found Thia in her room, cleaning up as best she could and Billy stepped across the threshold, pushing the ruined door a little more open and running a finger round inside the hole by the door, whistling. "Really did a number on this place, didn't he," he commented, loud enough for Thia to hear him.

The whistle got her attention, and she looked round, smiling a bit. "Yeah. But that one might've been my fault, I kinda sorta pulled him back because there was one coming up behind him and he had to do this action-movie thing where he shot when he was falling back and while really neat, it did in fact, mess up the door." she explained. "But he possibly could have avoided the door had I done something sensible like say 'hey, Dean, there's a shadow behind you'." she finished, dropping another bit of glass into the paper bag she was filling. "You guys taking off?" she asked.

"Heat of the moment and everything - these things happen," Billy allowed, walking into the room properly. "And yeah, we're leaving today. Actually - do you have a minute? I wanted to talk to you about something..." he said, looking around for a place to sit.

"Sure." Lullaby said immediately, looking a little concerned. She stood up and kind of half brushed her hands on her jeans, before she walked over to sit indian style on the bed. "Everything okay?" she asked, her attention fully on him now. "You can sit here." she added, since he looked like he was looking for a place. She'd stripped the sheets off of the bed since some of them were wet from the storm anyhow.

"Everything's fine," Billy told her, sitting down on the end of the bed, turning to face her. "Actually - I was wondering if you'd do me a favour. No pressure or anything, I just..." He looked a little unsure for a second. "I hope you'll tell me if what I'm just about to ask is unreasonable but - With everything that's been going on in town lately, and with the wedding and the baby on the way and everything, I'm working every hour there is at the moment. And Maddie - she'd never admit it, because she's too proud to, but Maddie's not coping all that well. Life now is very different from life when she was last alive and so much at home confuses her, or frustrates her. And what we could really do with for a bit is someone else around. To help out and be there and everything, and I was wondering if..."

Lullaby was listening, really. What happened was she got a clear idea of what Billy was asking about halfway through what he was saying, and she kind of felt a knot form in the pit of her stomach. "You want me to come stay with you?" she asked, to clarify. Of course, her gut reaction was But I'd be leaving Dean. Which, after she had the thought, she figured was amazingly selfish of her. And anyways, hadn't she been telling herself for a long time now that he should be spending less time with a dead girl? And he should...do other things? She had. He was supposed to. ...and all that logic really didn't make her feel any less unsettled about it. But why was she unsettled? As she started to try and analyze it, she realized there was far too much there to even hope to contemplate mid-conversation.

"You'd be doing me a massive favour," Billy told her, looking hopeful. He was really hoping he wasn't laying it on too thick - though, really, for all of that, he would feel better knowing there was someone around to help Maddie out. "But, like I said - if it's too much to ask...." He looked around at the ruined room, then back at the teen. "But, I could at least offer you a room that didn't have broken windows and holes in the walls," he joked.

Lullaby was telling herself firmly that when someone asked you to do something, you did it. No matter what. It was just something she was kind of raised to believe, and so she was inclined to tell Billy yes of course, she'd do that no problem. And she would, she was just...having issues with it. She lived here now, it felt like home. She had her own room and she'd been decorating it, and she felt like she belonged and...and stuff. Lots of other things. She'd be really far away, with no means to get anywhere. "...you said um. You said 'a bit'?" she asked. she also really hoped that she wasn't looking too much like the idea was upsetting.

"Yeah - I'm not suggesting permanent or anything. Anyway, don't think Oz'd let me steal you permanently," he added, pulling a face. "Unless you decided you wanted to be stolen, but that's something else. Your choice, right? I mean, Oz has that whole 'pack' thing going, and..." Well, they'd talked about that already, hadn't they? Billy knew that Thia wasn't necessarily completely on board with that, much like he wasn't. "I was thinking a few weeks or something."

A few weeks. That was...more doable, or at least, it gave her slightly better a feeling about things. She could do that, right? She'd be doing it anyways, but still. Maybe she'd feel better about it if there was something resembling an end-date. She looked down a little at the mention of the Oz pack thing. She still sometimes had that hard, strong stab in her chest where it felt so much like she was trapped. Maybe she'd feel less like that at Billy's for a while. Or...something. She didn't know. "Okay." she answered him, since she realized that she hadn't actually told him she'd do it yet.

"Thank you," Billy told her, sincerely, grateful that she'd agreed to it without him having to push too hard - he'd've felt really bad if he'd had to really talk her into it. Or he would have just called the whole thing off. "Erm - we're leaving in a few minutes. Did you want to come with us now, or have Sophie run you up? Or I could come back down for you," he offered.

Lullaby glanced towards the door for a moment, starting to answer, then she looked back at Billy. "I have something I have to get finished here first. I mean, I don't have a lot to pack or anything, so that won't take me long, but there is something I promised I'd do, and I um. I'm gonna need to say goodbye." she said. Because she wasn't going to be walking out of here without talking to Dean first. Plus...they had to clean the bathroom. She wasn't having him do that on his own, end of story, even if she had to walk to Billy's later. "Um, you talked to Oz and Sophie I take it?"

"Yeah," Billy said. "Yeah, we already talked. So you're all good there. And - is there anything you need? We're gonna have to go to the store anyway, so if I can pick you anything up, now's the time to say," he said, feeling a little stab of guilt kicking in.

She made a face, and glanced away for a minute. "No, I'm okay, I think." Which wasn't true, really. She needed clothes, and god, she was going to have to figure out something to continue her classes, did Billy have a computer? With net access? She didn't remember seeing a computer anywhere at his place when she'd been there, but then she hadn't gone looking through the house either. "Do you have a computer? I have classes that I've been taking online." she explained. Maybe she could just do all of her stuff at the weekend or something if she came to visit Dean.

Billy hesitated, then shook his head. "No, sorry - I don't. But, I'm sure we can get something hooked up - I'll make some calls, soon as we get back," he promised. He'd have to talk to Oz about getting the girl a computer. This was his idea, he could fund it.

She nodded. "Okay." she said, accepting that. She found that she was fidgeting with the bells on her ankle. She'd put them back on after she'd gotten up and started cleaning and everything. "I'll call or have Sophie bring me to your place later, then?" she asked, looking back up again at Billy and offering a little half smile.

"Sure - not a problem. Take your time," he said, knowing that what she'd want to be doing would be talking to Dean. "Just let me know and we'll work something out. It'll give me a time to air out the spare room for you," he added, standing up. "I'll see you later, okay?"

She nodded. "Kay. I'll try not to make it too late." she promised, figuring that would be really inconvenient. It also struck her that the last time she'd said something like that to anyone was to her mom and stepdad. God. That was a jarring sort of thought, and it was easy to get to her when she was already feeling off and unsettled. She covered, though. "I better get things finished here so I can get everything else done." she said, standing up to head back over to the glass on her floor. ...was it her floor anymore if she was leaving?

"I'll get out your way then," he told her. "And - thanks again, Thia. I really, really appreciate this." God, yeah - he felt guilty. It was official. Which probably meant that he should leave, right now. She could see negative emotions, couldn't she? Yeah, she could. "Thanks," he repeated, before walking out.

Lullaby was a little too distracted to pay much attention to what Billy's lines were doing, and instead she sat on the floor, looking at the broken bits of glass there. She was going to have to get her head together better before she talked to Dean. She really, really was. Drawing in a deep breath and letting it out slowly, she shut her eyes, tried to center herself, then went back to the mindless task of picking up glass, while her mind dealt with a big internal storm.
