Heading to school
Who: Dylan and Porter
Where: On the way to MSHS
When: Morning, before classes
Technically this was Dylan’s first day of the week. He’d skipped on Monday to spend time with Seph instead and avoided being snowed in with the rest of the school. Most people would call it luck but he knew otherwise. He was guided by something better, he had intuition. Something had told him to stay home that day and to him, it was another proof of his family’s so-called curse.
Today was supposed to be a good day though and he had no reason to hide inside again. At home anyway, stuck inside at school was a different thing but even if that was the plan, it didn’t mean he had to like it. It was cold and he was walking, though not very fast. He was almost there, another corner and he had plenty of time before the first bell too. He slowed his pace and dug into his pocket for his cell phone. He was about to text Jamie, his best friend in California, when he caught sight of somebody’s feet in front of him. He quickly stepped to the side and looked up. He expected to see a ghost, something he’d quickly become used to after the first one he’d seen with May, but he quickly realised it was a real person instead. He stopped and took a small step back, a little surprised “Shit, sorry. Sorry, thought you were dead.”
