It's just a game of snake and mouse.
Who: Zed and Jules
When: Morning
Where: Jules' house
When Zed woke up his first thought was that he was comfortable. He'd managed to curl himself half around the pillow that was supposed to go under his head, though his feet were tangled up with someone else's. As his brain settled into being awake and the mish-mash of dreams he'd had slipped away, remembrance of what had happened the night before flooded back to him. Nice. Very nice. He cracked an eye open to gain his bearings and closed it again. Dim light was filtering in a window. He needed to stretch, to go through the motions of his daily martial arts routine (which was only routine in the sense that he did it nearly every day). And he was thirsty.
The slight bit of light from the window awakened Jules more than the slight movements of the body tangled up with hers. There was a blanket half way wrapped around her still naked body and her feet were laced through the legs of the man beside her. It was warm and she really didn't want to move, but she really had to pee and laying there wasn't getting that done. Unsure if her bed-mate was actually awake, she opened her eyes she made the slow shift, pulling her legs through the jumbled mess of limbs as silently as she could manage.
Her shifting made the urge to stretch take over and Zed rolled onto his back. He yawned and stretched his arms out in front of him, then grabbed the pillow and shoved it under his head. Part of the blanket was still draped over him, but otherwise he was still unclothed as well. He smirked over at her, looking to see how awake she was. It would be interesting to see if she was one of those awkward morning after sex people.
Her blue eyes locked on his and she smiled. She wasn't an awkward anything. It was her house, she had no reason to feel awkward. And here was this hot guy in her bed smirking at her all sexy like. Damn him. "Morning." she said cheerily, climbing out of the bed and heading towards the bathroom. She was more than comfortable in her own skin and knew he'd be watching her as she moved about. It didn't take long to brush her teeth and finish her morning bathroom things. Coming back into the room she smiled again and made her way back towards the bed, propping up a pile of pillows and hopping back in the bed, pulling the blanket on her again. "Sleep well?"
"Of course. You wore me out," he replied in a contented tone. He glanced down at his wrist, expecting to see his watch there, but it was missing. More likely than not it was on the stairs, where he'd ditched his clothes the night before. No matter if it was lost, he'd just steal another one. But he was sure it couldn't be that far into the afternoon, if it wasn't still really morning, because he still felt tired. The dullness of the light filtering into the room didn't register. Zed was more focused on needing to check his calendar at home to ensure he wasn't working that night. Schedules. Time keeping. He'd barely been keeping up with it for a span of several months. How the hell did humans put up with it for decades on end? At least his schedule wasn't too predictable, and with welcome distractions and breaks from routine like Jules, the circus and the Masquerade things were fine. It didn't prevent him from getting the urge to be destructive, though. He covered his mouth as he yawned again. "What time is it?"
She shrugged then turned to look at the clock on the nightstand beside her. "Eight." she told him. Jules was used to being up this early. She was always into work by nine, though she had taken today off. Derek would just have to fend for himself until tomorrow. Laying back on the bed again, she ran her fingers through her tangled hair. She was sore from head to toe, probably bruised too, though she'd not spent time inspecting herself just yet.
"Too early for any self respecting night owl," he said, smirking again. His eyelids fluttered closed for a moment, but he jerked awake again quickly and propped himself up on his elbows. While he wouldn't have minded lounging around Jules's house all day and being beyond nosy when she wasn't looking, possibly causing a little mischief here and there, he had other things to do. Overstaying his welcome would have to wait for another time. Zed felt he'd played his cards well enough for there to be a next time anyway. "Let me get your number before I leave."
"In a rush?" she questioned, leaning up, blanket pressed against her chest. "I'll get you the number though. Think you can do me a favor? Let me change real quick and take me to get my car from the bar?" She'd almost forgotten entirely about leaving her car at Babylon the night before, but when she thought of him leaving, the memory fluttered back. "Can't just leave it there all day." she smiled.
"Yeah, no problem." He nodded and slid over to the edge of the bed. He'd entirely forgotten about playing chauffeur as well. And oddly enough, part of that seemed to be the fault of a small annoying hunger pang. It was dulled, and would be easy enough to ignore for the time being, but in the next week or two he'd probably have to take off on a little road trip and do a little real hunting. He licked his lips at the thought. It was such a conflict of interest when he had to serve demons at work, but the irony was palpable and amused him. He'd attempted to go snake hunting recently to tide him over, but the weather was changing enough already that the things were scarce. "And take your time, gorgeous."
She nodded, climbing out of the bed again and heading for the bathroom once more. She decided upon a quick shower. Well, quick for her. About half an hour later she emerged from the bathroom once more, half expecting him to be passed out when she returned. One towel wrapped around her body and another in her hands, running through the long dark strands, still damp with the water.
As soon as Zed was sure she was in the shower, he'd taken the liberty of looking around, still in nothing but his socks. He found some mildly interesting things like mace and what appeared to be an assortment of sexual accessories. There was a good sized mirror in the closet, tucked away behind her clothes, which was odd since it didn't look damaged. On his way downstairs he collected his things and wandered into the kitchen, mostly trying to get a real feel for the layout of the place at that point. He helped himself to a glass of water, then headed back upstairs and started getting dressed. By the time Jules had stepped back into the bedroom he was sitting at the end of her bed looking inconspicuous.
"I like that look on you," Zed said with a smile. Not that anything she wore could outdo her being in the nude.
She smirked at that, shaking her head and tossing the towel in her hands onto a chair in the corner as she sifted through her dresser for some clothes. Pulling out a set of undergarments, she pulled the towel away from her body, throwing it on top of the other that had been discarded. "I'm sure you like me better like this though, yes?" she questioned, standing there for a moment, back to him, completely displayed as she picked up her thong. Stepping into the article of clothing she smiled to herself in the mirror on the back of the dresser. She was bruised and sore, but damn she felt so much less stressed.
"Yes," he said easily, watching her every move and noting a bruise marring her skin. For a human she had quite a lot of grace. "Too bad it's too cold to go outside in nothing at all." Granted, it wasn't exactly winter yet. Zed hated too much heat and too much cold. But no matter where he ended up there seemed to be one or the other.
She giggled lightly at his little idea of public nudity. Turning around and slipping her arms into her bra straps, she moved towards him, still sitting there on the edge of her bed, more clothed than she would have liked, but hey, still hot. Situating her chest in the fabric she reached behind to fasten the hooks, then ran her fingertips up his chest, slowly pushing him back on the bed and moving over him, straddling his waist. "Course, that doesn't mean I don't go around naked in my own house a lot." she pointed out with a teasing little grin. "Feel free to stop by anytime you might want a little peak into life at a nudist colony."
"Only if I can join you." He smirked and ran his hands up and down her thighs, then let them slide up her sides and cup her breasts over her bra. "Not exactly a colony if it's just you."
"Fine then. A nudist Jules then. Even better." she smirked, hands moving to rest atop his on her chest. "Of course if you'd rather me just stay clothed, I can have that arranged, I suppose. Clearly up to you, Dollface."
"They're only good for keeping warm." He shrugged one shoulder lazily. Their little verbal game of cat and mouse, or snake and mouse as it were, was still amusing him. As he looked up into her bright blue eyes he couldn't help feeling like it would be even more entertaining to find out what really made her tick and tear it down. But, on the other hand, he was more than sure she'd be up for mindless fucking whenever and seemingly without getting clingy. That was a virtue, in his book.
"Guess I'll just skip the clothed parts whenever you come over then." she said with a teasing little grin, hands sliding away from his, but letting his fingers remain on the black silk material of her bra. "No point in wasting time right?" If there was one thing that Jules was not, it was clingy. Another was jealous. She honestly didn't care who was fucking who, concentrating only on who was fucking her at that exact moment. Of course, if Zed were to call and want her... attentions, even if she had plans with someone else, chances were that she'd cancel on the other man in question, but that was strictly because Zed knew how to move. No point in keeping him waiting. Or holding out on herself.
"You're absolutely right," he said and let his fingers trail back down her torso to settle on her hips. Zed would've had no qualms going at it again right then and there, but he wasn't sure it would be a good idea to overexert himself again so soon. Not when he knew he was running low on energy anyway. But one good hunt before the winter really arrived and he'd be good for the entire season. "I better get you to your car before we get distracted."
She smirked, leaning forward and kissing his neck lightly. Lips trailing upwards to his ear she whispered, "Can't keep going at it so much, I might get bored with you. Wouldn't want that to happen." Biting her bottom lip and pulling away, she made the slow movements to remove herself from the mans lap, heading for the closet and grabbing a pair of jeans and a sweater to put on.
"Right again." Naturally his body disagreed with his decision. He pushed himself up off of the bed and headed out into the hallway and then slowly down the stairs. From what he'd seen through the windows it looked like a pretty miserable day. He didn't mind at all. Just meant it was jacket weather. And of course humans tended to be affected by the climate, which was interesting. Dreary days meant more dreary or irritable people.
It didn't take long for Jules to get dressed and grab her jacket. It looked like quite a yucky day outside, but she was bound and determined to go shopping. Indoor sport of choice. Besides, she needed a new jacket before the cold became unbearable. Heading down the stairs and snagging her purse and keys she gave the man a smile. "All set. Ready?"
Zed was zipping up his jacket, which was one better suited to snowy weather than October weather, then put his hat on. "Yeah, let's go," he said while patting down his jacket pockets. He pulled his keys out and smiled over at her.
She nodded, slipping her purse over her shoulder and following Zed out to his car. Jules climbed in the car and buckled herself in, trying to decide what all she was going to do that day. Sifting through her purse for her cell phone, she realized that Marlowe had called. She'd have to call her back sometime today. Maybe she could pull her away from Lucius for a while to gush about amazing sex.
The Buick whined and groaned as Zed tried to start her up. It wasn't fond of the changing weather either. He pushed the gas down and finally it roared to life, and after letting the engine warm up for a couple minutes he headed back to the bar. As he pulled into the parking lot he spotted a Lexus and nodded towards it. "That one yours?"
She nodded. "Yes. Company vehicle and all that." she said, replacing her cellphone in her purse and unbuckling as he parked beside her car. Finding a slip of paper and a pen in her bag she wrote down her name and number on it and folded it, holding it out to him. "Don't be afraid to call." she told him. "Thanks for the ride... both of them... all of them..." she teased.
Zed leaned over and took the slip of paper from her. He tucked it in his jacket pocket and smiled at her. "The pleasure was all mine. Take it easy."
