Just Hanging Out

Who: Alexis and Kyle
When: After hockey practice
Where: Don't know yet!

After hockey practice ended, Kyle quickly showered and changed before saying goodbye to Gabe and a couple of the other guys. He was suppose to meet up with Alexis at the school, since she would have been finishing up with dance practice around the same time. He was looking forward to just hanging out with her for awhile. Knowing they had plans, he left his bike at home that morning so he would be able to walk with her, and once he got back to the school, he dumped his things into his locker before heading out to track her down. He hoped she hadn't changed yet, since he really liked the little uniforms they wore. Then again, they were only practicing, so chances were she wasn't dressed up. Not that it mattered. Kyle found he quite liked the way she looked in just about anything - and more so nothing at all.

Alexis had been looking forward to hanging out with Kyle the whole time during practice, only afterward realizing that she didn't have a place to shower like the guys did. Not that she got super sweaty, but she was self conscious about it, and she didn't want him to think that she smelled. It was just something she'd have to deal with, apparently, and as the practice area began to clear, she took a seat on the floor to change her shoes.

Kyle walked in and saw her changing her shoes. She looked cute in her tank top and dance pants, he had to admit. He smiled and approached, wondering if she would want to go home and change, or if she was comfortable enough hanging out with him in her practice clothes. "Hey," he greeted. "How was practice?"

"Hey," she grinned up at him, tying off her second shoe. "It was good. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow, I'm sure. How about yours?" Alexis hopped to her feet, then grabbed her jacket, hoping she'd be warm enough for the walk to his house. She certainly didn't want to complain about the cold, aware that he didn't have another comfortable option.

"Being sore is a good thing," Kyle told her. "Means you're doing something right, doesn't it? It'll be great though, once you get to the point where you're never sore anymore. Hockey practice was good though. I think we've improved in practice since our season has officially started. You want me to carry anything?" Kyle asked, motioning toward her things.

"It's a good sore, not a bad sore," Alexis said, once all bundled up. "I've never participated in something like this, so it was bound to happen. I hope eventually I'll be in good enough shape that it'll just be exercise and stretching, but I've got a while to go." She was loving every minute of it, though. Alexis enjoyed danging with the team far more than just following along with the dance routines she learned on tv. "I'm good," she smiled, pleased that he would offer. "You've got enough to carry already. So, anything new with you?" she asked as they began to head towards the door.

Kyle didn't think he had that much - just his book bag and gym bag - but if she didn't need help, he wasn't one to just reach over and take her stuff. "Ah, nah, not much. It's been a pretty boring day, to be honest." Then again, Kyle thought nearly every day of school was boring. He much preferred the weekends. At least then he could make something exciting happen. Or at least try too. "How about yourself? Anything interesting happen to you today?"

"Um, other than the non-fight at the flagpole? Not much," Alexis said. "Not that I thought Aaron would really let Breezy beat him up, but I wanted to be there for support, you know?" She'd found the whole scene amusing, mostly because nothing had actually happened. If there'd actually been a fight, she probably wouldn't have found it near as funny. "Started hearing some crazy rumors this afternoon, but I doubt they're true. That's really it," she shrugged. "Oh, and there was some kind of animal attack, so we should be careful walking home, just in case."

"Eh, it was too cold to stand out by the flagpole." At least he thought so. "I get that Breezy wanted to come across as a hard ass or something, but threatening a guy like Aaron is kind of... not." He chuckled and shifted his bag on his shoulder. "What kind of rumors were you hearing? Most of them aren't true, crazy or not. And I'm not too worried about an animal attack... but I'll definitely keep my eyes open for anything weird."

"It's colder now, in the dark," she teased, brushing him lightly with her arm. "I don't really know what Breezy's thinking. I think she's pissed and annoyed that no one's taking care of Aaron, but it doesn't make her brother look all that great if she does it for him." In fact, Alexis perfectly understood why Bruce might have picked a fight with Aaron before Breezy's fight was scheduled. That way it didn't look like his sister had to defend him. "It's not a rumor. It was on the news. Someone in town was attacked. They're in the hospital. They're saying it's a bear, or a wolf, or something, so we should just... be careful, you know?" She wasn't trying to imply it was something weird, though she'd already thought about what it might be that was.

Kyle shot her a grin. "No, I know the animal attack was real. I wasn't talking about that being a rumor... I meant the ones you said were crazy so they probably weren't true." Animal attacks happened now and then, didn't they? Unless people were being mauled every night, Kyle really wasn't going to let himself worry about it too much. "But we'll definitely be careful. Thankfully the town is small enough it doesn't take us that long to get from point a to point b."

The crazy part was the werewolf part... and she knew he'd think it was crazy, which was why she didn't want to get into it. Alexis believed in werewolves, just like everything else, and she really hoped those rumors were started just to scare people, not because there was a grain of truth behind them. "It doesn't take too long," she agreed. "It's gonna get colder, though. What'll you do in the dead of winter?" she asked curiously, because she really wanted to know. If the temperatures dropped below zero, walking home at night didn't seem like a good idea for anyone.

"Er, I'm fine in the winter," Kyle said with a shrug. "I wear a lot more layers... if I can't bike, I try and walk. If I absolutely can't walk, then I guess I get a ride. I'm not incapable of riding in a car, I just don't like to. I've been fine with walking and stuff since last winter. It's not so bad if you know how to dress for it." He smiled at her. "I don't intend to make you walk everywhere with me, though, so no worries."

She hoped she wasn't embarrassing him by asking about his issue with cars, but she wanted a better understanding of it, just so she knew how to behave. At some point, walking home would be out of the question, at least for her, and she was glad to hear that he wouldn't mind them taking different transportation methods from time to time. "Well, I'll walk with you as long as I can, but at some point you'll end up with an ice sickle instead of me. At that point I might have to bum a ride from my dad," she laughed softly.

Kyle shrugged once, clearly not bothered by it. "That's fine... I don't generally force my friends to walk with me. Honestly most of the time I can get around on my bike, so don't worry about it." Really he knew he ought to be a man and just get a car so he could drive her around properly. But he wasn't entirely sure he could handle it, and he'd rather just walk by himself than subject her to his issues.

"Okay," she said with a little smile as she glanced over at him. He really was hot, but thinking about that seemed to make her quiet, her cheeks darkening as her mind flashed back to the last time they'd been alone together. That was not what she needed to be thinking about right now. Her mind scrambled to find something to talk about, to get her focused on the conversation rather than in the gutter. "What do you wanna do tonight?" she asked, figuring they could play video games or something. He had a wide array of entertainment options, that was for sure.

"Ah... whatever you want?" Kyle laughed. "It's not like I don't have enough choices at my place. I could probably order us some pizza again. We could watch a movie, or pop in a game and give that a try. Totally up to you." He was just happy with the company really. Though had it been any of his male friends, they'd probably end up just lounging around, smoking pot and bullshitting. He liked having Alexis around for something different.

"Pizza would be good. Think we can play a game this time?" she asked. Not only did it sound fun, but they might be less likely to immediately move into making out. As much as Alexis enjoyed that part, she was hoping they could enjoy each other's time in other ways as well. "What's something that's not too hard to learn? That's two player and isn't sports," she smiled. "Not that there's anything wrong with sports, but I've got no interest in the football games and stuff."

He always appreciated a girl who could play video games. It was really kind of hot. And if Alexis couldn't play very well, that was even better because he could teach her. "Sure! Ah, I've got plenty of games that are multiple player and not sports so don't worry." He reached out to take her hand in his as they neared his street. "I'll have my mom drive you home when we're done, that way you don't have to walk..."

"Awesome," Alexis smiled, in part due to the video games and also because he'd taken her hand. That was always a nice feeling. "Prepare to have your ass kicked then," she teased, certain that wouldn't be the case. These were his games and she'd probably never even played them, but the challenge made it fun, and she was sure she'd enjoy anything he wanted for winning the game. A victory kiss was never a bad thing.
