Long Live the Queen
Who: Gabe and Peyton
Where: MSHS, the memorial service
When: Morning
The gym wasn't packed, at least not on the far end, where Chrissy's portrait stood. There were four pictures in total, lined up across the gym, as a representation of the students lost in the attacks. Students were encouraged to gather and support one another, but the number down by Chrissy's picture was scarce.
Gabe remembered the memorial service held for Lullaby, a girl that everyone loved. This wasn't quite the same, though the death of three other students did mean that there were tears being shed, fond memories being recited among the other little groups. He didn't expect that to be the case for Chrissy. She had her followers, girls that stayed on her good side because it was better than being on her bad side. And she had her admirers, guys that just wanted to screw her, that had heard she was good in bed.
What she didn't have a lot of were friends, and even if Gabe wasn't sure if he was among them, he knew he was one of the few that actually knew her, that had seen beyond the plastic bitch exterior she put forth. He planned to go to her funeral, but had brought flowers here as well, and set them up beside the portrait. Gabe sat on the bleachers in silence, intending to stay there until they made him leave. While he never thought he could miss the bitch, he never thought she'd be truly gone. He wondered if he was the only one there who wanted her back.
