"No, I'm just saying that because I basically control everything involving wood right now, I can charge what I want for the damn stuff, and if that damn stuff happens to be wheat, then I want wheat." Jeri argued, pointing at the game board at what looked like the end of a game of Settlers of Catan. It also looked like she was losing, in spite of the fact that she (the red player) controlled pretty much all of the woodlands, plus the wood port on the edge of the map. "Just like Garth's controlling - for once - the wool. So what are we playing Saturday? Paranoia or D&D? I need to know which books to bring."
"Paranoia." Garth spoke up. "I'm storytelling." Jerilyn nodded, that settled, and went back to haggling with the wood.
Kavin reached the house that Jeri'd told him she'd be at and he took another quick look in the mirror to make sure he looked normal and not like he'd just spent a couple hours making out with a boy. Once he was positive he looked presentable, he got out of the car and headed up to the door, knocking lightly on the front door and hoped he wasn't waking up anyone's parents or pissing off someone. Especially the mom of some kid he didn't know. Yeah, that'd be fun in a not fun kind of way.
"Who's that?" Mo asked, and gave the door a vaguely confused look. Garth shrugged, and Jeri was busy trying to make trading matches with Jamie, Trent, and Adam (who were teamed up), so Mo was the one who went to answer the door. He blinked at Kavin a couple times, and turned around. "Jer, it's your boyfriend or a zombie."
"If it's a zombie, tell it to go away." Jeri told him, and went back to her cards.
Mo gave Kavin a vaguely apologetic look. "You a zombie?"
"Not last time I checked." he said with a shake of his head. "So, I guess that makes me the boyfriend. So, she ready to go?" he asked. He felt a little odd being at a random person's house. He recognized the kid from school at least, but it didn't make him feel any less awkward. So he just kinda stood there, not sure whether to come in or stay where he was or just pray that Jeri would come out and he could flee.
"Same thing, different title." Mo said wisely, and Jamie laughed.
Jeri looked up, and back to Jamie. "Jamie, I bestow upon you the Kingdom of Lumber, because I gotta go and also because I'm getting my ass kicked. Tell me who won tomorrow." She tossed her cards to him and he promptly started cursing her abysmal luck for the night. "Yeah, yeah. Call me so we can make plans for the Con." She got up, waved to everyone and picked up her backpack before heading out.
"Hi, babe." A rather triumphant lookin' kiss for Kavin, a wink to her boys who were cat-calling due to said kiss, and she closed the door behind her. "I totally forgot I texted you; sorry about that."
Kavin was a bit surprised at the kiss and flushed a little at the catcalls, but he nodded to her when she apologized. "No problem." he smiled, heading back towards the car and climbing in. "Have fun doing your... whatever it was you were doing." he chuckled.
"Trade negotiations." Jeri sighed, expressively. "It started innocently enough, you know. I just wanted a card of wheat in exchange for a card of wood, and that damn sheep baron over there bought up all the wheat so I took over all the wood tiles I could get my mitts on, so he sent the robber - " she paused, glancing up at his face. "I was losing and not succeeding on getting my ass out of the fire, if that makes more sense."
Her explanation with cards and wood and fire and sheep barons and wheat confused the hell out of him but he nodded when she said she was losing. That much she could understand. Losing he understood. "Yeah, that makes a little more sense." he nodded as he started the car and pulled away from the house and headed back towards his own home.
"One day you'll play with us." Jeri said, nodding. "And you'll understand. And on that day... well, you'll be confused utterly. It'll be fun. Have fun doing your boy things?" She grinned back, stretching. Everything still hurt, but it didn't hurt as bad (probably due to the use of extra strength painkillers) as it did yesterday. Still looked like hell, though.
Boy things. That was one way to put it. "Yeah. Hung out with Nate for a while." he said with a little nod, purposely keeping his attentions on the road. I will not feel guilty. Okay, yes I will but I will not let her know that I have anything to feel guilty about. God Kavin, you are such a dick. he thought to himself.
Jeri nodded thoughtfully to herself. "He can come too, and hang out with us." Because she felt like she needed to put in an effort to at least get along with her boyfriend's boy friends. "Oh, I got a half yesterday. I don't have it with me, but maybe tomorrow we could actually smoke some of my stuff?" She raised an eyebrow at him. "If you're not busy."
Jeri. Nate. Jeri and Nate in the same room at the same time. Yeah, that sounded like a test of his willpower for sure, but he couldn't let her know that, so he just nodded. "Sounds like fun." he said to her first statement. "And as for smoking, I'm down for smoking whenever. I'm not busy." At least not as far as he knew at that point. He would have to call Nate sometime and see if he'd talked to Gabe anymore, but aside from that, he was without plans. Smoking would be spectacular.
"I'm such a bad influence on you. I bet you never even heard of marijuana before you met me." Jer deadpanned, then promptly broke into an amused grin at the idea. "You were probably this innocent lad that I corrupted with my horrible D&D sorcerer powers I got at level six. Or whatever level it says in the Jack Chick tracks."
"You're a bad influence on me?" he grinned as he turned on his road and a moment later pulled into his drive. "Yeah okay. Innocent I don't think really describes me, baby." he told her, parking the car and pocketing the keys.
"Innocent as a new born..." She eyed him as she got out of the car. "You're too damn big to be a kitten. I don't know. We'll go with kitten until something better comes. Innocent as newly fallen snow, too. I broke your innocence! I'm so awesome."
Kavin shook his head a little as he got out of the car, snatching up his phone and stuffing it into a pocket of his jeans just in case Nate did send him an explicit text message. That would be lovely. Getting a text about something not so innocent from your best friend while you're girlfriend was around. He opened the door and let her inside ahead of him, then locked the door behind himself once he was inside. "What makes you think you broke my innocence?" he asked. "Perhaps it's the other way around."
"Dude. I play Satan's Game. I'm obviously evil." Jeri smiled sweetly. "And I have a shirt that says 'sell your soul for a cookie'. I'm hellbound. You, on the other hand, you're so sweet to me you gotta be innocent." She came up beside him and pinched his butt. She was in a playful mood tonight, obviously.
That got a little surprised yelp from him. He hadn't suspected that as he pulled his jacket off and he raised his brow at her. "Someone's feeling a little frisky." he smirked. At least she was in a good mood tonight. Much better than post-dad-fighting. Definitely a better look on her at least. Despite the bruises, the smile still made her face light up and he liked that.
She grinned as evilly as Jeri could manage - which was actually quite evil when she wanted to look that way, and she stood on her toes to give him a kiss. "You want me to corrupt you a little more...?"
He kissed her back, bending a little to make it easier for their mouths to get to one another. "Mmm... I dunno." he murmured. "Just how do you plan on corrupting me?" he asked with the arch of a brow.
"I can think of a few things..." Jeri grinned and snagged the hem of his shirt, pulling him towards the bedroom, walking backwards over that direction. "Assuming you don't have any serious objections, of course."
Objections to what she was insinuating? Not really. Aside from the fact that he'd been doing some similar type things with someone else not too long ago. Right there on that couch. He couldn't exactly deny her though, she'd wonder why. Yeah, that would go over well. And he was a teenage boy for crying out loud, so stamina wasn't really a problem. He could be ready to go in five minutes if she kept kissing him like she was, and looking at him like that. "Objections?" he said with a little smile. "Don't think I have any objections."
"Have any condoms? Might help a little." She continued walking backwards, tugging him slowly towards his bedroom. Corruption, Jeri decided, was a lot more fun then people said it was. Especially when it was a boyfriend and he was (very probably, almost certainly) far less innocent then she was teasing him about.
He bit his bottom lip. She just had to want to do it tonight. Just had to pick the evening he fooled around with Nate to want to have sex. He nodded in response to her question. "Yeah." he murmured, following along after her, mostly because she was holding his shirt and somewhat pulling him along.
"Kavin, is something wrong? You don't seem real enthusiastic here." She dropped his shirt hem and looked up at him. "Is the timing bad? I mean, it's pretty late and we do have school tomorrow. Or you just not feeling up to it, or...?" Jeri, forever somewhat uneasy about
the relationship (because she didn't deserve it somehow, not that she could say why at all) was beginning to think maybe it was her? And she had to squash that feeling down.
"No." he said, shaking his head and hoping he sounded more enthusiastic. It wasn't her. Not at all. It was him. It was Nate. It was a whole bunch of things but it wasn't her. She was great. He liked her. Wanted to be with her. Wanted to touch her. "I'm up for it." he told her with a smile. Again, teenage boy, of course he was. He leaned in to press his lips lightly against hers. He wasn't going to let her think that she'd done something, or keep her looking at him like she was with that 'what'd I do wrong' look on her face.
Jeri eyed him for a moment, then smiled and kissed him back. "Then get into it, goof. Come on. I want to be a corruptive influence."
"Oh, I'll get into it." he told her with a little bit of a smirk. A forced one, but she wouldn't know that. He made it look more than convincing as he reached down and tugged his shirt up and over his head, then leaned in for another kiss. He was silently grateful that she didn't know what Nate tasted like. He was pretty sure he tasted like a little vodka and cigarettes. That was perfectly fine for her to connect to him. Vodka and cigarettes, not Nate's lips.
Eh, she knew he smoked and she knew he drank, so what was connect too? Not that she cared much for vodka, but honestly that was a small thing anyway. "Hee." She smiled brightly at him and unzipped her grey hoodie and pulled it off so she could pull of her shirt. "Last chance to keep that sweet innocence you've got before I steal it for forever, mwhahaha."
"I think the twins stole that long ago." he smirked, eyes on her fingertips as she pulled off her hoodie. He let the shirt drop to the floor, not much caring if he was leaving it in the hallway.
The hoodie was cast aside and she pulled off her t-shirt, sneakily backing up into the dark bedroom before he could get a good look at her chest. Not that he hadn't seen it already, but it was fun to lightly tease like this. "Then hurry up or I'll confess love to your bathtub!"
His girlfriend was half naked. Like he wasn't going to follow her. So into the bedroom he went, kicking his shoes off before he even reached the door. He closed it behind him and slowly let his eyes adjust to the darkness. "Oh I see how it is. You love my tub more than you love me." he teased.
"Hey, that bathtub has multiple jets. Mind you, I can't randomly get it to pick me up from a friend's house and into the bedroom by a hem." Still in her bra and jeans, she snagged one of his belt loops and playfully pulled him a little closer to the bed. "So you still have several points over the bathtub."
He smiled at her as his eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness. And then her fingers were on his belt loops and pulling him towards the bed. And still guilt swelled up inside of him. If she don't know, it can't hurt her. The words kept repeating themselves and a smile was plastered across his face, covering up all the unspoken things running through his brain. He lifted a hand as he forced those thoughts away. Settling fingertips against her waist and slowly dragging them up as he moved closer to the bed. "Mmm..." he murmured at the softness. "And I doubt the tub can touch you like I can." Can she touch you like Nate can? What the fuck, Kavin, stop it. He'd be damned if he let the guilt eat him up right now. He wanted her, she wanted him, and so what if he wanted Nate too? No one needed to know right now.
