Not so Awkward Morning After
Who: Aiden and Jules
When: Wee small hours of the morning
Where: Jules's house
As he knew he would, Aiden woke up just as dawn was starting it's slow creep over the horizon. It took him a few seconds to remember where he was, though the warm body tangled around his pretty much tipped it off immediately. He had stayed the night with Jules. And now it was time to go. He rubbed his hand over his tired eyes and then careful began to untangle his limbs from hers. His arm was underneath her and he moved carefully, not wanting to wake her up for a variety of reasons. If he could get dressed and get out to his car without her knowing, that'd probably be best for them both.
Of course as usual, what was best for them hardly ever happened. When he slipped his arm from beneath her, she stirred and her eyes fluttered open to catch his. She knew he was leaving and it did slightly bother her that he didn't want to say goodbye and was most likely trying to leave without waking her. But she pretended it was fine and gave him a little smile. "Morning." she said and untangled herself the rest of the way from him, catching the sheet with her hand and pulling it up around her chest as she sat up on the bed.
Aiden winced a bit in the dimness of her room when he saw her begin to stir. "Morning," he said with a small smile. "Sorry, didn't mean to wake you up." Now that she had pulled herself off of him, he was able to get up out of bed easily. He went to pick up his boxers and jeans before turning back to her. "You can go back to sleep... it's early yet."
"Do you always run away before dawn?" she questioned. "I'm going to start thinking you're a vampire." she teased. "Always seeing you in the darkness." She smiled though as she looked at him, trying to decide whether she wanted to get out of bed or curl herself up again and breathe in the scent of him on her bedding. She'd probably end up doing both, so she got up from the bed and moved to the dresser, snagging a pair of boy shorts from the top drawer and pulling them into place, then grabbing a bra. "I probably will go back to bed, but I want something to drink first." she only half lied. It wasn't entirely the reason for her getting out of bed, but it was good enough.
"Nah, sometimes I runaway much sooner than that," Aiden replied, pulling on his boxers and then his jeans. "I'm pretty sure I'm not a vampire, otherwise I'd have been biting the hell out of you by now." He eyed her as she got out of bed before zipping and buttoning his jeans. She wanted a drink? Or did she just wanted to follow him downstairs? He was so used to making an easy getaway, that he wasn't sure what to say so he shrugged instead and looked around for his socks and shoes, trying to remember if he'd taken them off up here or downstairs.
Part of her wasn't ready to let him go just yet, but if she headed downstairs before him, he couldn't think it was all because of him now could he? So she found herself a short little nightdress and pulled that on too, just in case Olivia was awake and headed down the stairs. She smirked a little at the clothes littering the stairs, picking up her own and then Aiden's shirt. She draped that over the staircase and took her clothes to the wash, returning a few minutes later with a glass of juice just as he made his way down the stairs.
Aiden grabbed his shirt from the railing and slipped it on over his head. She must have already grabbed her clothes since they were no longer sprawled all over the stairs. "I had fun last night," he told her, rubbing his eyes again. And when he opened them... there were his shoes and socks! Good. "I'll call you later, okay?"
She tilted her head just slightly, watching him as he pulled his shirt over his head. She nodded and found his hat because he always had those damn things and he'd probably die without it. "I kinda had fun too." she teased, handing over the hat to him. "Try not to get yourself in trouble, yeah?"
"What fun would that be?" Aiden asked with an amused smile as he set his hat firmly on top of his head. He leaned in to brush a kiss over her lips before double checking to make sure he had everything. He snatched his keys off of her table and winked at her. "See you later, love."
"Bye, Aiden." she smiled. "Lock the door on your way out would you?" she asked as she started up the stairs. "Wouldn't want anything worse than you to come in now would you?" she teased.
"I wouldn't, but you might," he told her before opening the front door. He did as she asked though, and turned the lock on the knob before pulling the door closed behind him. And he went immediately for the cigarettes in his jacket. He was going to go home and go back to bed for awhile. Anything after that? Well, he'd think about it then.
