Oh, He's Awake, All Right

Who: Brian and Isabella
Where: On the phone
When: About 5:30PM

Brian finally pulled himself away from Domino, leaving him with a little kiss and the promise that he'd be back, he just had to make a phone call. He really did have to talk to Isabella, see what she had to say about this, if she could help.... Besides, he'd promised. He limped into the kitchen for the phone, and dialed in Isabella's number, slipping down onto one of the kitchen chairs wearily as he waited for her to pick up.

Isabella answered the phone quickly, expecting to hear good news - or something resembling good news - since it was Brian. "Hey handsome. Is he awake yet?" She could only assume he was calling her in regards to Hunt and she sat on the couch, awaiting his answer.

"Awake and gone," Brian answered, leaning back in the chair with a sigh. "And he didn't recognize me, or my house. If I tried to stop him, he would've gone postal on me, I think-- so he just left. On foot. My familiar's following him...." He sounded somewhere between tired and defensive-- and he half-expected to be lectured for letting him go.

Brian was correct in thinking she would lecture him. Because she was of the mind to do just that. Only she was more concerned about the fact that he hadn't recognized Brian. "What do you mean he didn't recognize you? Not at all? And where on earth is he going if he didn't know you and just left?"

Well, the lack of immediate lecture was a good thing, he though... he hoped. "I don't know for sure. Just that the Hunt who knows me wouldn't be asking me if he'd have to get through me to get away. Or trying to hide from me. And he never once said my name. So I don't know, but I'm guessing he just... didn't know me." Brian sighed, pushing his hair back with his free hand. "I tried to offer him directions to his house, a change of clothes, a shower... he wouldn't even take directions. He told me not to follow him, and then he just bolted. I didn't know what to do, Bella, he was talking kind of crazy."

"Either he's completely delusional, or he's got amnesia." Which she really had no clue how to fix. "He was talking crazy because his mind is completely fucked up. The important thing is knowing where he's gone. You said your cat was following him? If he finds his way home, then maybe he hasn't completely lost it."

"Yeah, Tor's following him," Brian nodded. "I can track Tor' pretty easily, so I can find Hunt if I need to. I didn't want him wandering off in the woods, or... god, I don't know. I've never had to deal with crazy people before. Do you think he will find his house?" He kind of wanted to ask her to go look for him, make sure he did get home okay, but... that should be his job. He just didn't feel up to it, he really didn't.

"I have no idea," Isabella stated, rubbing her temple. "I guess we'll have to wait and see. If your cat comes back and tells you Hunt has gone home, I can drive over there to see if he'll open the door for me. I have a feeling, though, that if he doesn't remember you, he'll probably have no clue who I am either."

"And if he won't open the door, good luck getting inside," Brian grumbled. "He has alarm systems, you know. Though none of the speakers for it work anymore...." He'd overdone, shorting them all out, but they'd been annoying, and distracting. "And I'm sure you've seen his doors. Shit." He kicked sullenly at the other chair. "And you have to see him, touch him, whatever-- to get at that spell on him?"

"If he doesn't want to open the door, I won't force it. If he's that... damaged, it probably wouldn't be wise too." Sighing, Isabella slumped back against the couch. Hunt should have stayed unconscious. It probably would have been safer for him. "I don't know what I'm dealing with unless I can see him. I'm not that effective of a witch yet that I can just throw caution to the wind and hope whatever spell I cast works. I guess we'll just have to wait and see."

"I told him to call me when he gets home. Not that I really think he will, but.... Maybe I can call him tomorrow. And if he doesn't call me back, maybe we can both go over." He figured, between the two of them-- and with another day's worth of rest behind him-- they'd be a match for somebody half-sane who happened to be able to throw spells. Brian knew he could unlock the doors, anyway.

"I guess we'll have to do that. We don't really have any other choice other than breaking down his door, and somehow I doubt he'd appreciate that. Just... keep me updated, I guess. I'll try to keep my day open if I'm needed." Isabella could tell Brian was weary and tired. She felt for him, having to take care of Hunt, and now this. "Try to get some rest, okay?"

"I'll try. Could you maybe go by his house later?" Brian finally asked hopefully, and guiltily. "Just... see if he made it there? In case Torziel is an ass and doesn't come back or keep me updated or whatever. He does that sometimes...." Fairly often. Brian wouldn't be surprised if it did it this time out of spite for making him "work" wounded.

"Of course I will. Maybe I'll even attempt a knock at the door," Isabella told him, smiling softly to herself. "I suppose then I'll keep you updated on things."

"Thanks...." Hell, he needed a nap. Or just to go to bed now and not get up until morning. Maybe he and Domino could put in a movie, or something. "Oh, and if Tor's still there and hasn't told me anything?" Brian grinned. "Tell him I'm locking the doors and he can stay out there all night, since he seems to like it so much."

"I'm sure that would endear me to him even more," Isabella said dryly. "He'll probably be more than happy to scratch up the messenger. But I'll pass that along. I'll call you later, handsome. Let me know if you need anything."

"Just keep your distance," Brian suggested, equally dryly. "He's almost as beat-up as I am, stupid thing, he can't get too far. Thanks, Bella... talk to you later."
