Plans Are Made
Who: Chrissy and Skye
Where: Kavin's Party
When: during the party
Skye, with her popcan in hand, started wandering through the party lazily. She'd talked to two new people - guys, even! - and didn't making a babbling, blushing mess of herself. She was rather proud of herself for that. But now she didn't know anyone else, because she still hadn't seen Chrissy and Travis was still chatting to people about... whatever the subject was now. He liked to talk. She wondered if he and Gisele wouldn't be perfect for each other, considering the fact they could just talk around each other or when the other one was taking a breath. Maybe they could break speed talking records together. Skye shook her head, amused at the thought, and took another sip of the Sprite.
Chrissy had spent a lot of time wandering around, talking to people, listening to Kimber and Gisele babble about the masquerade the next day and drinking. Drinking was good. She was a tid bit tipsy by the time she ran into Skye who looked like she was wandering around aimlessly. "Hey you. Having a good time? Wait, where's Travis?" she questioned, raising a brow and looking around. Of course she found the big guy with a few other football players. "Figures." she said, shaking her head. "What have you been doing with yourself since he got caught up in the whole 'I'm a jock, gotta hang with the jocks' thing?"
"He didn't just get caught. He walked into that particular lion's den on his own." Skye sighed. "With this big grin on his face, too. I was just thinking," Skye continued on, quietly, "that he and Gisele should get together and then they could just talk while the other's breathing." She shook her head and finished the can of soda off. "Anyway, I was just off meeting new people. I met your Gabe - he seems really nice - and his friend Kyle. What have you been up too, considering your boyfriend's on stage?" Not that she knew which one Thom was, but she knew was much that he was performing tonight, at least.
"He's not 'my Gabe'." she pointed out. "He's nice enough though. Kyle too. And yeah, I've just been wandering around really. Hung out with Gabe for a minute. Occupied Thom's time when he had his last break." she shrugged. "So, are you going to go to the masquerade tomorrow?" she questioned. She knew she might not be able to take the girl shopping, since she'd planned that with Thom, but maybe she could figure out something or other.
"Gabe's kind of cute." Skye blushed just slightly for a moment before distracting herself. "Yeah. I might as well destroy what savings account I have left." Skye laughed. "I'm thinking Catholic School Girl. That's cute and innocent and completely uncowgirl." The last was added in, teasing Chrissy.
Chrissy's eyebrow raised slightly at Skye's assessment of Gabe and the wheels started turning. She have pondered if it'd be easier just to hook him up with someone and get him off her mind and the market at the same time. She pushed that idea to the back of her head and latched onto 'Catholic school girl' instead. "You totally would like only need a mask." she told her. "I have a shirt that'd fit you and the skirt, hell probably even the knee high socks and shoes. So, after I go shopping for my own costume tomorrow with Thom, wanna get ready at my place?" Only the question wasn't really said in a way that made it seem like the girl had a choice.
"Of course. Though honestly I think my aunt would want at least one picture so that she can send it to my family and set them off on a laughing fit." Skye grinned. "I don't think they've ever seen me in a skirt. Do you think I'd need a matching tie, or like... a gold cross necklace? Devil's in the details, and all that. Is that bar a nice place? Have you ever been?"
Chrissy shook her head. "Never been inside, seen it from the outside and all, but if I want to drink I usually find my own booze and do it with some friends. As for the necklace and tie, totally. A few accessories is really all you gotta buy, or scrounge up. And for pictures, we can take a couple before we leave my place. I'll email 'em to you and what not. Then your aunt can go crazy sending them out to all the relatives."
"Oh, yay." Skye said dryly. "She'd like that, at least. But yeah, I'd like to come over. You're much better at this kind of thing than I am. Unless you think I should do the cowgirl thing - I got all the accessories for that." Still teasing, Skye nudged her gently. "Want to come with me to get a bottle of water?"
Chrissy scrunched her face up at the thought of Skye going all cowgirl. "You can't dress up as a cowgirl when you basically are one." she pointed out as she nodded and followed her toward where the drinks were kept. "Catholic school girl is way more hot and I bet you might be able to attract Gabey's attention with that. I mean, he is a sucker for a skirt." she said, a smile forming across her face.
"I said he's kind of cute, that's all. I don't want his attention if there's even a chance it could cause any problems between us." Skye said flatly. "I like your company, and I don't want to risk it."
"You thinking Gabe is hot, or even dating him isn't going to cause any 'problems' between you and I." she told her. She wasn't about to have the girl thinking that there was anything more than friendship between she and Gabe and if letting her take her stab at him was a way of proving that, all the better. "Gabe and I are friends who just happened to date ages ago. That's it."
Skye bit her bottom lip and eyed Chrissy, looking a touch worried. "You sure?"
"Skye. He's a friend. That's it." She glanced over at the band and gestured to Thom. "That is my boyfriend and he's hot and sexy and a musician and perfectly capable of doing all the most amazing boyfriend things. Why would I want Gabe?"
"Oooh, so that one's Thom then?" Skye blinked over at him, then grinned at Chrissy. "A mystery is solved. Been trying to guess all night, but I didn't want to ask anyone. And I don't know... it just sort of felt like I needed to ask your permission first about him." Him, in reference to Gabe, of course. "I have no idea how to catch his interest though. It might not even be an issue." She shrugged.
Chrissy rolled her eyes. "Gabe is a boy. Look pretty and listen to him. Let him talk and act interested. It's not rocket science, Skye, really it's not. I'm going to make you so hot he'll have to talk to you tomorrow. I can almost guarantee it."
Skye giggled. "Oh my god. You must be drunk out of your sweet little skull. Yeah, right. I walk into a room with you and everyone looks at you, not me. Very nice of you to offer, though."
Chrissy smiled at the compliment. "Well I'm taken, so he'll have to look at you next right?" she said. "Definitely though, tomorrow. I've got shopping with lover boy over there and then I'll call you when I'm done with that and we can spend some time dolling you up. What do you say?"
"Hm, okay. That sounds like a good deal to me, though it seems kind of one-sided. But I appreciate it." And Chrissy got a quick hug and a happy smile. "You're a sweetheart!"
Chrissy was surprised by the hug, to say the least. And though Skye may have seen it like she was doing such a huge favor for her and not getting anything in return, that just wasn't the way that Chrissy operated. Skye looking hot may attract Gabe's attention, and doing so, got them at least in closer reaction. And doing that took the focus off of her relationship with the boy. Making her fake one with Thom look all the more real. And besides that, Chrissy didn't hang out with ugly people anyway. Making Skye look good was just as much for Chrissy's own well being and social status as it was for the other girl.
Skye finished off the pop and set the can down on a nearby flat surface for the time being, until she could locate the garbage or the recycling or whatever. "So what are you going as? I keep talking and not asking and listening."
She shrugged. "I have no clue. I'll know tomorrow I guess. I've gotta do some brainstorming with Thom. I'll let you know tomorrow though."
"Please do!" Skye grinned. She figured Thom and Chrissy would end up going as a matched set, and she looked forward to seeing what they'd come up with. "Maybe next week you could come over to my place and we could... I dunno. Do something girly. Bake cookies or sommat for the boys."
Chrissy raised a brow. She wasn't exactly the baking type, but she didn't voice her opinion just yet. Catching sight of Kimber and Gisele she simply nodded. "We'll see." she said. "I should probably go catch Kimber and Gisele before they get too sloshed." she said. "Catch ya later? I'll give you a call after the shopping and such so you can come over."
"Okay. If any of you need a ride home, lemme know. It's not like Travis'll miss my presence." Skye rolled her eyes good-naturedly. She smiled. "Have a good night, okay?"
"'kay." she said, though she was already heading through the crowd towards the other two girls that made up her posse. A flickering wave of her hand and she disappeared from sight.
