Rendezvous In The Desert
Who: Manhattan
Where: Desert Outside of Las Vegas
When: Afternoon - Vegas Time
A small cloud of dust billowed upward behind the black chevy as it cruised across the endless sea of desert. Manhattan had arrived in the city of Las Vegas an hour prior, and after checking herself into one of the lower rated hotels along the stripe, and making a single call, the hunter left the city proper for a rendezvous in the desert.
Booted feet swung slowly out with the opening of the driver's side door. Manhattan, in a white, ribbed tank and pair of khaki colored jeans emerged from the vehicle, dark eyes cast over the hood beneath a set of dark shades to the open roofed jeep she had parked adjacent to. "You got everything?" She questioned taking a couple steps backward to close the door of the rental and then rounding the front of the car toward the second vehicle and the person still settled inside it.
"Good to see you too, Manhattan." A woman, dark haired well within her late thirties slid out of her seat at the blonde's approach to move toward the back of the vehicle. The duffel bag there was unzipped and parted enough to give a showing of its contents.
"Heard anymore on the going ons at the hotel?" The blonde questioned as she moved around to the back of the jeep to check out the contents of the open duffel. With the way security was at the airport back in Marquette Manhattan hadn't been able to bring along anything resembling a weapon, which was why she was the hunter had to resort to purchasing a few things from a trusted associated located with the perimeters of the City of Sin.
"A couple was found last night. Same scenario as the others over the past couple of months." The other woman relayed to Manhattan as the hunter sifted through the bag, then rezipped it. Tugging a folded manila envelope from a hip pocket Manhattan offered it to the woman before the bag was hefted from the back end of the jeep and set to the sandy ground at her feet. "The small file in the bag has a small bit of info on the vics." The woman accepted the envelope and tucked into a jacket pocket.
"You'll let me know if anything further filters in through the lines." A slight bend had Manhattan grasping the handles of the bag to lift it up.
"If anything comes my way, yeah you'll be the first to hear. You take care, Manhattan." The dark haired woman slid back into the jeep and switched on the ignition. A second later she had the vehicle making a U to the right and headed back through the desert in the direction she had came from.
Manhattan followed pretty much the same procedure when she returned to her car. Her rental swung around to cruise across the sandy bed back toward the Vegas strip.
