Riding in cars with boys.

Who: Derek and Jules
When: (Berlin time) Late afternoon
Where: The town car between the factory and the hotel

Lunch had been good. They'd talked business, beliefs, food, sports, cars, and so many other topics that were of no relevance. Business wasn't all about making the deals; it was about the relationship you created with the people who you bought out.

After lunch there had been the tour, which was quite enlightening, and Derek already had the employee in mind to take over and run the factory. "So, what did you think?" He asked Jules, who was sitting opposite him in the car.

She nodded as she finished up the last few details on the laptop she had opened across her lap. She was transferring her notes to her computer. "It was well put together, efficiently run. I have a detailed list of everything that they showed us and some things I observed myself." she told him. "Typing it all up now, I'll be sure to have a copy made up for you to go over."

Efficient, either she was just trying to impress him, or she was really this good. Either way he was pleased. "Very good. And everything is arranged for tonight?" He asked, pulling out his phone and flipping through it. "Did you hear back from Hedi?"

She nodded again. "Yes, sir." she replied. "I spoke with Ms. Gunter this morning and she asked me to relay to you that she'd adore attending the gala with you and would meet you there." She turned to flash him a quick smile. "You're suit is pressed and ready for you to wear, hanging in the closet of your room. Was there anything else I needed to do for you sir before you leave for the gala this evening?"

Derek shook his head. "Not at the moment, just make sure that you come by my room before I leave so we can go over tomorrow's schedule." He might have something for her to do then, and didn't want to go over them right now. "The driver is dropping me off before the hotel. I have an errand to run." He put away his phone as the car started to slow. "Oh, and make sure you check your email. I forwarded you some specs. I need you to contact the home security place and make sure that they install the new features before we get back." He told her.

"Will do." she agreed. "I'll make sure to drop by a bit before you leave. I'll check the email as soon as I get back to the hotel and get in touch with the Home Security." She smiled sweetly. She was on top of things. If there was one thing she was good at, it was doing her job and doing it well. He was going easy on her. Her father usually had her with tons of errands to run on top of all the work she normally did along and the ocassional large project to do. She figured he was testing the waters and making sure she did as she was told.

Derek nodded. "Good." The car came to a stop and a moment later the door opened for him. "Tonight then." He said as he got out, not bothering to wait for a response.
