sleepover!

Who: Alexis, Lily, and Breezy
When: Pre-masquerade
Where: Lily's house

Breezy's parents had indeed wanted to speak with Lily's parents before they agreed to any sleepover shenanigan's, but it had worked out, and now Breezy knew she was guaranteed to have a perfect night. Until she actually had to sleep. Ugh, that still worried her. Oh well, she'd worry about it later. Or just... not sleep. Maddock dropped her off and Breezy ran to the door to ring the bell, perhaps a little overeager for the fun to begin.

"I got it!" came the faint yell from inside the house, a moment before Lily pulled the door open. It was clear that she hadn't really started getting ready; she was in old comfy sweats and her hair was dripping wet, clearly fresh from the shower. "Hey!" she greeted, stepping back to let Breezy in. "Come on in, my mom was just like, trying to shove a taco down my throat pre-party tonight."

After being out late the night before, Alexis' father wanted to physically see where his daughter was spending the night. He knew she'd been out later than he wanted, and was only annoyed that he'd been called away on a hunt before she got home. At least tonight he could be assured that she was staying with friends. When Alexis knocked on the door, she turned to wave to her father, sighing when he stayed to see who answered. She didn't blame him for being over protective, but it was still annoying.

Breezy felt like she had barely closed the door behind her when there was another knock. "And that would be Alexis!" She guessed out-loud. And since she was there, she figured Lily wouldn't mind her opening the door. So she did! Pulled the door open wide and blurted out "Alexis, there's taco shoving going on in he--oh, hello Sir." Whoops.

"Daaad," Alexis whined, giving him a pleading look. Her father sighed and told her to be home by noon tomorrow, to call and he'd come pick her up. As he shut the car door, Alexis turned back to her friends. "I think he wanted to make sure we weren't boozing it up in here," she said with a roll of her eyes. "Did I hear there was taco shoving going on?"

"Okay, wow," Lily said, "you guys make it sound so much dirtier than it really is. That's awesome." She grinned and shut the door behind Breezy and Alexis, turning to yell towards the kitchen. "Mom! Alexis and Breezy are here, we're gonna go put their stuff in my room!" The reply that came was in Spanish, but the tone of command was unmistakable. "She wants us to come back down for a snack before we start getting ready," she told the girls, heading for the stairs. "So I hope you guys are hungry, because you're going to eat whether you like it or not."

"I'm always hungry." Breezy confirmed, and something smelled awesome. "So where do we ditch our stuff? I still can't believe I managed to hide my costume from my parents. It's a miracle they didn't look through my bag or something."

"Taco's sound amazing," Alexis agreed. She hadn't gotten a chance to grab something to eat before she left, and was thankful that Lily's mother was willing to feed her. "I completely left out the whole costume thing from my dad, or I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have let me come. He wasn't all that thrilled that I was out partying last night, so a second night in a row would have been cut out. He's okay with a slumber party though," she said with a smile.

"I wasn't out too late last night," Lily said, "so my folks are cool. They got kind of used to me running around all the time with my brother, too - I think they're kind of still stuck in the habit. Plus this town is like, a million times tinier than LA, they're all like, what could happen?" Lily wasn't going to educate them on the little she'd learned. "My room's this way," she said, leading the way. Her room was clean (for once), bright and modern, walls painted a pale lilac. Her furniture was mostly black to contrast, with a fluffy white duvet turned down to reveal turquoise sheets. Lily's crafts were a big decorating theme, with the three shadowboxes she'd made as wall art, and the jewelry hanger she'd made from a nicely-framed corkboard and some ribbon. Everything was accented with that same lilac, turquoise, and touches of sage green here and there. "Just dump your stuff wherever," she said, gesturing.

Breezy did as instructed, dropping her stuff (a duffel bag of her own and a sleeping bag that belonged to her brother) where she stood. "Awesome room." she commented. "It really fits you. I wish my room was this cute. Oh my God, we're going to have so much fun." It was possible her mind was going a million miles a minute.

Alexis followed, dropping her bag right after Breezy, her attention captured by the decor. It took her a moment to catch up, at which point her attention focused on both girls intently, though primarily Lily, since the room was hers. "Did you decorate this yourself?" she asked. "Like, can this be done? Can we... do something to my room? I mean..." She licked her lips, thinking. "If I wanted to paint sometime, would you guys help me paint? Your room is awesome."

"Thanks," Lily said to Breezy with a wide grin, then nodded to Alexis. "Yeah, my mom and I did - I made some of the stuff, too. I totally love craft projects, so if you want to decorate your room or paint or whatever, I'm so in." She'd just have to make sure Alexis didn't have anything that could fall apart if Lily showed up for a few hours' worth of painting. Or that if she did, it was taken out of the room while Lily was there. "You can find a lot of great stuff if you go dumpster diving," she added. "Or scan for stuff that people put on the side of the road for trash collection."

"Oooh, that sounds like a lot of fun." Breezy said, taking her time with looking around Lily's room. It was awesomely shiny. She almost chimed in and asked if they could do hers too, but realized there wasn't much of a point. She'd only be there a few months. I am not going to get depressed tonight, this is a happy night!

"I usually don't paint or get settled in cause we move so much, but I'm determined to make this year count," Alexis told them. "So, you guys have to tell me about your costumes! Find anything good?" She'd been able to pull something together, and was super excited about it, but she had no idea how it compared to the other two girls.

"I'd die if I didn't have my room decorated," Lily said dramatically. "I'm always making shit, I'll show you guys my craft room later and if you see anything you like, we can always see about jacking it for your room." She bounced as she led them out of her room at her mother's insistent call that there were tacos that needed eating. "I found this cute red dress," she said, "and I'm going as a devil. I've got the horns and a little glittery pitchfork thingy, and a gold mask. So excited."
