Sorry
Who: Chance and Kaysen
When: After school
Where: School
While it seemed like most of the students who were at school were stuck there, Chance was of the mind that he could go home pretty much anytime he wanted. All he needed to do was use one of the mirror's in the boy's bathrooms and he was sure he could find his way back to his room. But... he didn't want to go just yet. Kaysen was still in school - probably - and the idea of her having to sleep over with these people sort of make him uneasy. So he figured that was as good an excuse as any to track her down and make sure she was okay. He hadn't seen her in a couple days, and truthfully he was starting to feel antsy and restless over it. So he set off to find her, knowing she would at least be inside somewhere. And there were only so many places she could hide from people.
She happened to be hiding up on one of the upper floors, pulling highly unwarranted skate tricks in the hall. Most everyone else was downstairs anyways, getting all their sleeping arrangements charted--though Kaysen wondered who the fuck they were kidding. People weren't going to sleep in assigned rooms and stay there and shit. they'd be all over the school crashing out wherever. Or, that was her opinion. Possibly because she planned on finding a quiet place and sleeping the fuck alone.
Or that was her plan til she glanced up and saw Chance up the hall.
Chance heard her before he caught sight of her, but once he'd gotten up the stairs, he spotted her on her skateboard, of course, and managed a small smile. "I figured you wouldn't be down with everyone else..." He would have bet money that she would find an empty classroom, or closet if need be, to avoid all of that. Slipping his hands into his pockets, he started toward her. "How are you?"
Kaysen didn't say anything, she pushed off towards him instead, not exactly sure of her intentions til she was up to him, her arms were up around his neck and she was giving him a oxygen depriving kiss. Sure, they had things to talk about, and were in school, and...whatever. She wanted to kiss him. So she was.
Chance was both surprised and pleased by the kiss and his arms came around her without question to hold her to him. He didn't care that they were in school, or that they had stuff to talk about. She was kissing him, and he had missed her, so he was going to enjoy it right now. Everything else could come later.
She was busy shoving everything in her head aside. There were all sorts of voices trying to chime in, sure, but fuck that noise. She wanted to be kissing him. She wanted to be kissing him deeply and passionately, which she went with. "I'm..." she started, when she had to gasp in a breath, but then just cut herself off with more kissing. It almost felt like she needed to make up for lost time.
He was fine with the kissing. It was much better than the talking parts most of the time. But still, eventually he needed oxygen, and he pulled back and ran his hand over her hair. He didn't know what to say, because he didn't want to bring up his mom, or their 'break' or anything like that. All that would cause is arguing and they were - or she was - already stuck in a crappy situation. No need to make it worse. "I was going to go home," he told her. "But if you want me to stay tonight... I will."
"Mmhmm." she said, between kisses. "Stay." She didn't have to think about that. She wanted him to stay. And it meant they could spend the night together, which right now sounded like the best idea in the world. Whether it was or not would remain to be seen, but damn. Yeah. She wanted it. They could find a room and lock themselves in, right? Hide out and shit? Sure.
"'kay." He could do that. He kissed her again and wrapped his arms around her, content with forgetting the whole 'break' thing for now. "Where do you want to hide out for the night?" Because the gym and auditorium? Neither were an option for them.
"I don't know..." she started, then paused. "Maybe the chem room?" she asked. Hadn't they made out in there once? She thought so. "We can lock the door, anyways. Kinda...y'know. Hide." Which she really wanted to do. With him. As soon as she could. Yes, they needed to talk, but...god did she just want to forget.
"Not the most comfortable place," he said with a small smirk. "But it's not like there's many other options. But I'm really good with hiding... more than willing to hide." He reached down and took her hand. He didn't want to really talk... maybe just lay next to her and sleep. Or watch her sleep. Or something. "Want to go now?"
She nodded, pausing to tip her new board up and catch it, smiling at him in a strange shyish way. Which was ridiculous. really it was. But it was there. "I've...you know I just..." she started, tripping over her words badly.
Chance glanced at her, one eyebrow cocked curiously. "You just what...?" Missed me? Maybe that's what she wanted to say? Something nice and affectionate, that would make him feel warm inside instead of tired and cold and vacant.
"Missed you." Kaysen said, sighing. "So much I can't even say." she added onto the end, voice light, half-mumbled. She had. She didn't know how well she'd be able to express it. Plus it was steeped in so much other crap that she wasn't sure she should. Beyond to let him know, that was, because she wanted him to know that she hasn't dealt with their time apart spectacularly well or anything.
"I missed you too," Chance said. Even though he knew it was probably difficult for her to say, it still made him feel good to hear it. He knew that he couldn't really press her on it, make her go into agonizing detail about how much she missed him. But he knew that could lead to other talks and he didn't want to do that now. "I didn't expect it to be easy or anything..." But it really sucked. "I'm sorry and everything," Chance added. "I mean... about the whole thing."
