Step right up!
Who: Koji and open to fairgoers!
Where: Tourist's Park
When: Late afternoon
Strange as it was, this place wasn't nearly so bad to Koji. Sure, it was just like any of the hundreds of stops before it in a lot of ways. Faceless crowds milled around from tent to tent, gorging themselves on the treats being offered and wasting their money on the games. They were waiting for dusk, of course, for a chance to gawk at the 'attractions' of the show. But somehow? It was better here.
The air was cleaner, even past the dual stink of generator fuel and humanity. The people seemed to have a genuine zeal to them too, milling around the posters for the show's acts with curiosity, though Koji expected them to be blind skeptics like all the others. But the setting didn't hurt his opinion either.
He loved woodsy locales like this one, even if it had been shaped by man to be something controllable. It was still nature, and it resonated with Koji as he lingered on the employee's side of the test of strength. He smirked thinly, watching a man heave the hammer overhead and faintly ring the bell at the top of the game.
Weakling, he thought as he took the hammer back in one hand, stepping to the side of the worker who collected fees and corralled the line. "Next!" the man bellowed into Koji's ear, making him wince faintly as he held the hammer out expectantly, not even bothering to look to who was waiting in the queue.
