Sulking with the Ghost
Who: Lauren and Open
Where: The Library
When: Late morning.
Lauren was sulking. Well, only a little bit. Maybe moping was a more appropriate term. Heck, if you're not allowed to mope when you're dead, what are you allowed to do?
Oh right. Nothing. That was what lead to the mopage.
She hadn't been allowed to go on the school trip, for one, which was a massive sore point and seemed remarkably hypocritical considering the whole point of the trip had been "spirit relations" or some such nonsense.
It's okay to be dead, kids! Just so long as you don't want an education or a normal existence! Just so long as you stay in the creepy asylum where you belong!
She probably could have just gone along anyway. It wasn't as if anyone could do anything to stop her, but honestly, it wasn't like she needed to go and meet and greet with other dead folks. It was just the principle of the thing
Well, fine. Whatever. If that was the way they wanted it, that was just what Lauren would do. She had been levitating down the aisles of the library's Supernatural Fiction section looking pouty. She couldn't change into full spook-mode though. Still hadn't quite got a grasp on that one. She was definitely see-through around the edges, and the grizzled appearance of her leg and arm weren't hurting the overall effect, but still. It was a bit rubbish.
And that was when the Librarian had shown up, flapping her hands in a shooing fashion and clucking her tongue.
"For goodness sake. It's Thanksgiving, missy. The Library isn't open and I'm sick of you drifting around the place giving me the chills and making the lights flicker while I'm trying to catalogue!"
Lauren had poked her tongue at the woman in an act of defiance, before giving up and floating outside to sit on the Library steps. It was a pretty morning and Lauren figured she wasn't very good at the whole haunting thing anyway.
Maybe she'd just admire the snow for a bit.
It was so FRUSTRATING being dead.
