Who: Cyril and Lullaby
Where: Text Messages
When: Morning

Lullaby was sitting up and in her room after breakfast, waiting a bit nervously for the whole mine thing to start. To get the message that they were coming to pick her up or whatever, and go...wandering off to do whatever. She was staring at her phone, and had been for like five minutes before she finally hit 'send' on the message she had typed up. It was to her father.

Hey. It's me. Um...how are you?

She had no idea what else to say, and felt that that message sucked but she had already retyped it six times and oh hey look. she still hadn't found anything better to say.

Cyril was more than a little surprised when his phone buzzed in his pocket. Didn't really receive many text messages, especially not this early. He picked up the phone and, yep, as he'd thought. Lulu. Even though he knew there was no chance that it had been her dead on the school steps, he'd been more than tense whenever she was out of his site lately. Having her contact him felt like a knot unwinding in his chest.

I'm good. How are you? Everything okay?

She smiled when she got a return message right away. Though then she winced faintly, wrinkling her nose. She hadn't meant to make him worry. I'm fine. I mean, kind of weird with everything going on, but okay I guess. I was wondering if we could see each other sometime soon? I don't know when you have time.

Cyril sat down, tapping his fingers on the table. As tempted as he was to give her free reign over his schedule, he did have things to do that week.

Tomorrow evening or late Tuesday afternoon would be best, but I think I can work around another time, if you're busy

Tuesday is okay. I have stuff to do this weekend, and I might go to a party tonight. Lullaby sent back, half wondering if he was going to be the kind of dad that wouldn’t' want her going to parties about half a second after she sent it. Or maybe he wouldn't care or something. She really had no idea.

Cyril frowned at the response, not entirely thrilled. Looks like I have something to do tomorrow to, then. He grumbled, not thrilled about having to stake out some teenager's party.

Be careful. Text me if anything bad or weird happens. Or if you just need a ride home and don't want your mom finding out.

Lullaby actually giggled a little as she looked at that response. I will, promise. But I don't really like...drink a bunch or anything, so don't worry. I didn't get the Party Girl gene. :p It was kind of nice to think that he'd go get her though, and kinda cover for her.

Cyril grinned, shaking his head. Looked like they'd turned out a good kid after all. Not that he'd been doubting it, of course.

Yeah, well, watch your drink.

He stopped short of asking her if she had a weapon. Might be a bit much this early.

I will. Promise. Lullaby texted back. She glanced at the clock, and figured it was about time that she needed to really get ready for random mine dwelling. I should get going, busy day, but it was nice talking to you. I'll talk to you soon again too, kay? -L

I'll see you on Tuesday. Have fun.

He forced himself to end it there and not ask her where she was going to be and with who and what they were going to be doing. Nobody wanted a stalker Dad. Besides, he'd just find out for himself.
