Things We Do For Family

Who: Mathias
Where: home
When: Evening

When Mathias promised that he'd do something, he didn't waste time getting it done. And it wasn't like what his brother had asked him to do was going to be hard. Charming some nurse who'd already made it blatantly clear she was into him, that was right up his street. Sure, he hadn't even talked to the woman for months, but that was nothing to the eldest Lockwood, who had a tendency to disappear from people's lives for years and then be able to worm his way back into their lives again in a few hours. It was just the way he worked, and it worked well for him.

He'd first called that morning - the hospital, since he thought it best that he didn't have her number, though she'd given it to him at least once whilst Caleb had been on the ward. She hadn't been on shift yet, so he'd left a message, being sure to leave his name, and said he'd call back. Which he'd done - and he'd been rewarded with an almost giddy Lisa on the other end of the phone. Dinner had been easy enough to set up. Somewhere nice, of course. And he'd arranged to pick her up from her house - she'd wanted to have time to shower and change after her shift.

Math had taken a little more time than usual over his appearance before he headed out. This was important to Caleb, so he was making that bit of extra effort. He left his brother a note, pinned to the side of the fridge. Bro, out with Lisa tonight. Should have your deal for you by tomorrow. See you soon. Math.

Short, sweet. Not a problem.
