Visiting hours
Who: Joshua and September (and later Lullaby)
When: Mid-afternoon
Where: Tourville Apartments/Marquette General Hospital
Joshua had received September's message a few hours ago and the tone in her voice had been enough to convince him to head back to the apartment. He had called her back straight away but hadn't got a response and had settled for leaving a message. Having called her a total of five times now and still not getting through, Joshua wasn't sure whether he was more worried or pissed off at not knowing what the hell was going on. Perched on the edge of the couch, he was so tense that when the phone rang he fell off the seat. "September, whats going on?" he cried into the handset before a polite voice informed him that his cousin was currently in A&E at Marquette General.
After what seemed to be the longest 10 minute cab drive of his life, Joshua bound into reception and was quickly directed to where September was.
Stepping around the curtain, he saw September asleep on the bed with a bandaged arm and looking even paler than usual. This was definitely bad. September had made things incredibly clear about what to do if he ended up in hospital but she had never told him what to do if something happened to her. He had never seen her sick and seeing her like this after her weird message was freaking him out to no end. Pulling out his phone, he texted Lulu to tell her what had happened. He knew that there wasn't anything she would be able to do but he really didn't want to handle this on his own.
Moving around the bed, he sat on the chair next to it and rested his chin on his hands, his stomach knotting with concern. "What the fuck is going on September" he said quietly.
September had finally passed out upon arriving in the hospital, and had been in and out of consciousness for the past few hours. The hospital could treat the fever, but other than that? The staff was utterly baffled. These symptoms had come from a cat attack? They'd tried treating for rabies or various allergies, but they couldn't help September. Had she been awake, she would have had Annora or Mya trying to find a healer or purifier, and would have been blessing every damned thing in that hospital room. But most unfortunately - possibly most unfortunately for Joshua - the curse had had more than enough time to work its way all throughout her bloodstream. And in the times that September was actually awake, she was, in fact, delerious.
Shortly after Joshua spoke, she opened her eyes, but it didn't actually appear that she saw anything in front of her. Her eyes were glazed over and out of focus, constantly moving around. Following the cats, of course. They were everywhere. But they'd stopped attacking. Attacking was bad. It started with just two cats, perched and sitting calmly on the ceiling, just staring at her. And then they multiplied and there were five. Then ten. And on and on, until the ceiling and walls were absolutely covered with the beasts. Everywhere she looked, amber eyes were staring at her.
But they weren't attacking. September would have liked to kill them, but she felt very tired. And all of her limbs felt very much like jelly. It would have taken an awful lot of effort to attack them. And then they multiplied again, and thirteen cats jumped into the air. They might have hit the bed, but before they could, they all joined together, forming one giant cat head. It just floated around the room, speaking jovially to itself in a language September didn't understand. That aside, she knew it was speaking in riddles, like a crazy cheshire cat.
September never moved, her eyes just followed the floating head. It bobbed up and down around the room and out the door, and she could see it's shadow moving down and up the hall again. When it came back into the room it approached her bedside, stilled, and stared at her. It gave her a riddle, but she couldn't understand its language. When she didn't answer, it started heading over to Joshua.
And while it may have looked to some like she had still been asleep .2 seconds ago, that she reacted violently to. "DON'T YOU TOUCH HIM!" she roared, sitting up immediately. She grabbed her sword - which was actually an IV stand - and thrusted it fiercely into the back of it's skull. But it's skull was actually the window, and when the glass shattered, all the little shards were tiny dancing cats, swarming around the room like insects. That wasn't good.
Joshua didn't notice September's eyes open, having been wrapped up in his own thoughts. However he couldn't really miss the shouting and the now very broken window lying all over the floor. This is really not good he thought to himself before jumping out of the chair and rushing over to his guardian.
"September, it's okay. There's nobody else here" he said, his voice sounding much calmer than he felt. September's actions had ripped the IV from her hand, which was now dripping blood and she was moving around barefoot over the glass that was littering the floor. "I'm safe, there's nothing here that can hurt me" he said, panic now edging into his voice.
Realising he had absolutely no idea what to do, he hit the nurse call button next to the bed and turned back to September, trying not to let himself get too worked up. His telekinies had a bad habit of flaring up when he was upset and the last thing he wanted to do was make the situation even worse by sending shards of glass flying around the room. "September, please listen to me. We're prefectly safe, there's nothing here to hurt us!"
What Joshua said filtered through, but in September's state... well, there were plenty of other explanations. Just because Joshua couldn't see them didn't mean they weren't there. And they were there, like a swarm of locusts, thousands of tiny cats multiplying, forming waves over everything in their path. Grabbing on to Joshua's shoulders, she wasted no time in blessing him. She'd done it before, several times, but another wouldn't hurt. "You don't see the things that I see! You don't have to deal with the things that I do! I told you to stay inside! Stay home and inside where the demons could not get you! Stay in until I told you otherwise! HAVE I TOLD YOU OTHERWISE? HAVE I TOLD YOU YOU COULD LEAVE? WOULD IT KILL YOU TO TRUST THAT I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT?!"
Joshua winced slightly as September grabbed hold of him, her fingers digging into his shoulders, trying to take everything she was saying. When she started to yell however his jaw practically hit the floor. In all his life, none of the family guardians had ever yelled at him, sure they got annoyed but the shouting part was left to his parents. The shock of September shouting at him teamed with everything else that was happening finally made Joshua snap.
"I tried to call you back and you didn't answer, you always answer. Ever tiny insignificant thing that happens to me you're there for but this time I get a freaky message then nothing. Radio-bloody silence. Then the hospital calls telling me you're here and I was supposed to just sit at the apartment and wait. All we have here is each other." His voice raising in volume, Joshua wasn't aware of small objects in the room beginning to shake. "All the things you constantly prepare me for, warn me about, this wasn't one of them. YOU NEVER TOLD ME WHAT TO DO IF SOMETHING HAPPENED TO YOU!" he yelled back, his hands balled into fists by his sides, as the plastic jug on the night stand flew into the wall, spilling it's contents all over the floor. Finally noticing the shaking objects, Joshua took a deep breath trying to calm himself and unclenched his hands. The objects slowly came to rest and he risked talking to September again, hoping to get through to some rational part of her brain.
"September, I'm here so what can I do? Who should I call?" he said, placing his hands on her shoulders in a vain attempt to placate her.
If September remembered what he said, it would most assuredly haunt her. Oddly enough, it would be one time she wouldn't mind that she was being yelled at. Because he most certainly had a point. That wasn't something either of them were prepared for. September was quite simply not supposed to be ill. She didn't get sick, and she was supposed to be the one taking care of injuries. Not the other way around! The only time it would ever be acceptable to be out of commission would be if she had needed to save him from some horrible peril and got herself injured in the process. Then she was at least doing her job. She could have two broken legs, and she'd still be worrying about Joshua. So no, there was no plan for Joshua if something happened to her. It was never, ever, ever supposed to happen.
September had opened her mouth to say something, but a rush of nurses had finally come in, immediately prying her away and back into bed so they could give her that all important sedative. Not particularly wanting to get back in that bed, which was by now swarming with thousands of miniature demon-cats, September fought it, decking at least one nurse hard enough to send her sprawling on the floor. But they still managed the injection, and the medicine worked fast. "STAY AWAY FROM THE CATS! STAY AWAY... cats... demons..." Her shouts gave to incoherent mumbles, until she was finally out again.
Joshua could only watch in stunned silence as September was taken down by a group of nurses, letting himself be pushed out of the way as they got her sedated and back into bed. Before she slipped into unconsciousness, he just made out her saying demons and his blood went cold as he realised just how bad the situation was.
Locating his chair from earlier, he pulled it right up to the edge of the bed and sat down, not taking any notice of the nurse re-inserting the IV. He wasn't going anywhere until her had some idea of what was going on.
Lullaby had rushed to the hospital as fast as she could. After the text, she'd gotten her stepdad to drive her, which he did, and well. They didn't live far from the hospital. So it didn't take her terribly long to get there. What took more time was getting the information she needed. Though occasionally, being a distraught handicapped person got you things you might not otherwise get, and a male nurse told her where September's room was. So she flew up there as fast as she could, and stopped when she got to the door. "Joshua?" she called, hoping her voice carried enough, and she walked into the room hesitantly.
Joshua was startled out his thoughts when he heard the familiar voice. Standing up from the chair, he walked over to the door and gave Lulu a weak smile. September had been sedated a little while ago and an orderly had come by and swept up the glass so there was no visible signs of her earlier freak out asides from plastic sheeting over the window which was largely concealed by the blinds and a visibly shaken Joshua. "Hey Lulu." he said quietly, signing clumsily as he spoke. "Thanks for coming."
Lullaby looked over at the bed, worried, then back over to Joshua. Ohhh dear he looked really shook up. So she did the first thing that came to mind, which was to put her arms up around his neck to pull him down for a tight hug. "'Course I came." she said, carefully enunciating so she'd be understood, though she didn't let him go just yet. She wanted to try to help take that 'just was traumatized' look out of his eyes first. And okay hugs might not help, but they might. So she was damn well going to try.
Joshua gave into the hug without any sort of resistance, wrapping his arms around Lulu's waist. He needed it, needed to feel something normal and comforting to ground him and calm down the mental flailing currently going on inside his skull. "I don't know what to do." he said, hoping Lulu heard him. He didn't expect an answer from her, or for her to have a solution but the thought was there repeating itself over and over and he had to say it to someone, and he trusted Lulu enough to say it to her.
Being they were in close, and he spoke loudly enough, she barely heard him. Enough that she got the gist. She pulled back and gave him a reassuring smile. "It's okay, we'll figure something out." she promised him. She signed as well as she could with her good hand, and Lullaby had kicked into FULL supportive mode. At this point she was just going to be there for Joshua to make sure things were alright. "C'mon, let's sit down and you can tell me what happened."
Moving to sit down next to the bed, Joshua dragged a second chair next to his and dropped himself into it, his eyes flicking between Lulu and September. "I wish I knew." he began, turning his attention fully to Lulu. "I got this weird message from September telling me to stay inside and she sounded worried enough for me to actually listen to her. So I got home, kept trying to get hold of her when the hospital calls telling me she's been admitted. I dash over here and she starts hallucinating, yelling at stuff that isn't there, yelling at me, she broke the window with her bloody IV stand..." Joshua trailed off and his eyes went back to September's unconscious form on the bed. "She's never been sick before and the doctors can't tell what's wrong. Whatever did this wasn't natural."
Lullaby listened, frowning. Ohhh dear. That was not good. "I'm sorry." she said, reaching over with her hurt hand as she sat down to carefully take his hand. "How bad is it? I'm assuming bad with the hallucinating. They didn't tell you anything that it might be?" she asked. "...it looks like she's injured." she added after looking over September again. See this was where Lullaby was made fully aware of just how useless she could be. She didn't know about the world, she'd just found out in fact that there was a whole lot more to it than she'd ever thought. This was still sinking in. She didn't even know where to start researching, or what was fact and what was pure fiction. Up until a bit ago, she would have said demons were part of that 'fiction' category. What with the largely being dismissed by reality. Now, however...something was going on. And she didn't even know enough to recognize if this was really something Other. Though Joshua seemed to think so, and he knew way more than she did so she was going to agree with him. She just wished she had words of wisdom, or something that could help. Somehow she didn't think giving September a necklace would really cover it.
Joshua let out a long sigh, gently squeezing Lulu's hand. "Apparently when she came in, she said she'd been attacked by a cat so the doctors have been treating her for rabies but..." He trailed off when he thought about September attacking demonic cats that only she could see and rested his head on his other hand. "I just wish that I knew more about this stuff so I could do something instead of just sitting here." Looking back to the bed, Joshua couldn't stop himself from frowning in confusion. "What the hell could do this to her?"
"I don't know. Everything I know you told me and...well...there's Unc. I'm not sure what else he might know though. I could ask him if you want. Maybe...hm. Maybe we should start learning everything we can. Do you know if there's...like, books we could study?" she asked. She sounded lame to herself. Books? What was this, class? But still. There had to be something out there, right? "I'd feel better knowing all I could. We could study stuff together." And maybe she could learn ways to help protect people while she was at it.
A faint smile ghosted over Joshua's face as Lulu spoke. He knew he had been right to tell her about this stuff and here she was being super-supportive and trying to help. "We don't have any books at the apartment and I dunno what sort of stuff there is in town. All the books September had, I think she left back home with Annora." At that, Joshua felt a pang of realisation and slapped his hand against his forehead. "Mind you the hospital said they'd contacted other relatives so September must have given them the number before she...well, you know. If Annora knows then I'm sure she'll be here soon" he said firmly, his over-bearing optimism finally getting a chance to re-ermerge. Back-tracking slightly he realised Lulu had mentioned a name and was curious. "Who's Unc? Is he the one who told you to start wearing the religious symbols?"
Lullaby hadn't ever heard the word 'berk' before. She was assuming from context that it was something close to 'idiot' or the like. But now wasn't the time to ask, now was it? Instead, she listened, then gave a little smile. "We could ask them? I can stay here with September if you'd like. I promise I'll take good care of her." She'd offer to call, but ha! Yeah. She couldn't. A small wave of 'I'm useless' again hit her, though she didn't show it. She was being as supportive as she could. Eventually she'd be able to do something useful, right? It was a theory. Then she paused as he brought up the other stuff. "Unc is Journey's uncle. He's kinda my adopted sort of uncle too. Um...er..." she sighed, looking pained. "It's a long story?" she suggested. "He's the one who clarified things for me. I think he's working, but he wouldn't mind if I called. I know he wouldn't. I just...y'know. Can't, really. You could, and you could tell him I'm here too."
"That would be awesome thanks, I'll head down to the nurses station and ask" Joshua replied, getting up from his chair. He was intrigued by the sound of this Unc character but long stories and phone calls could wait for five minutes while he checked whether help really was on the way or whether he was on his own. Not that he was gonna start thinking like that, because he didn't do pessimism when it could be avoided at all costs. "Give me five minutes and I'll be back" he said, kissing Lulu briefly on the cheek. "Again you are all kinds of awesome and I'm all up for talking to your Unc guy when I get back" he called over his shoulder as he dashed from the room, managing to collide with an orderly and their supply cart as he entered the corridor.
Lullaby winced then got up to go over, kneeling down to sort of take things off of Joshua. "Careful." she said, giving him a little smile as she fussed. It was hard not to, he was frazzled and things weren't going so well for the poor boy, and he really didn't need to be crashing into things to boot. Seeing that he wasn't overwhelmingly injured or gushing blood anywhere, she gave him a kiss on the cheek this time, then stood and offered him her non-hurt hand. The orderly was grumbling under his breath, which luckily Lulu didn't hear. She may have had something to say to him if she had. Alas, muttering was often lost on her.
Blushing as Lulu helped him to his feet, Joshua could hear the orderly's mutterings and began apologising profusely as he attempted to pile the supplies back on the cart while at the same time thanking Lulu for helping him up off his ass, again. Realising that he was actually meant to be doing something fairly important, he apologised once more again to the orderly, gave Lulu a sheepish smile and ran off down the corridor.
Lullaby peered out the door just to make sure he didn't crash into anything or anyone else on his way to the phones, then gave a little smile to the orderly. "Sorry." she said. "He's worried." Then she went back over to September's bedside, sitting back down as she looked the woman over. It seemed wrong, to see her laying there. She was the hovering parental type, she wasn't supposed to be all pale and ill and injured. She drew in a deep breath and let it out slowly as the orderly milled around the room doing his thing. She was lost in thought, trying to figure out what she was going to be telling Joshua. She was--as often stated--an abysmal liar. She just didn't have it in her. She'd never had the talent for telling untruths, and she really didn't forsee herself getting any better at it. Especially to people she really cared about. So...here was hoping she didn't get people into trouble for being honest.
Joshua made his way back to the room far more sedately than he had left it. The nurses had told him that yes, September's aunt had been informed of the situation but no, they didn't know when she'd be getting to the hospital. Then they started asking questions about insurance and medical history which had Joshua starting to freak out again, because he didn't know if September even had insurance and as for medical history she was a God-knows how old guardian angel - where do you begin to cover that up. So Joshua had side-stepped the questioning and made a quick exit. Coming through the open door, he smiled at Lulu as he approached the bed and sat back down. "Well Annora knows whats happened and hopefully is on her way."
Looking over when she caught his movement, she smiled back at him. "Well, that's good that she's knows at least." she said. "Did you get to talk to her, or did the hospital talk to her?" she asked. She noticed that he didn't look as optimistic as he had when he'd ran out of the room, and her eyes tracked the orderly as he left, having finished up whatever it was he was doing. She had the urge to get up and shut the door, but she didn't know if other nurses or doctors needed to come in to see September again. Then she turned her gaze back on Joshua. She kept having to tell herself that she probably shouldn't fawn over him and baby him right now, but that didn't help the strong urge she had to!

She kept having to tell herself that she probably shouldn't fawn over him and baby him right now, but that didn't help the strong urge she had to!
"The hospital spoke to her when September was admitted" Joshua replied, fiddling with the cross around his neck. "I would have liked to phone home but then they started asking all these scary questions about insurance and stuff so I did the very man-ly thing of running away." Pulling his knee up underneath his chin, he gave the room a critical glance. "God I hate hospitals. Thousands of miles from home but hospitals give off the same vibe. I don't like it."
Lullaby had a strong sneaking suspicion that Joshua had spent a whole lot of time in hospitals in his time. Way more than she had, for instance. Or possibly even Journey. She looked at him, then reached out to muss his hair a little. "Don't worry, I won't think of you as any less of a man." she assured him. But then, she couldn't think of a single thing he could do that would have that effect. "I don't think anyone likes hospitals. I don't either. I didn't like having to come here after..." she made a vague sort of gesture to indicate her attack. "I hated answering all the questions I didn't have proper answers to." she admitted.
Surprised and slightly amused by the hair-ruffling thing, Joshua smiled at Lulu. As she spoke, he realised that she really had been in the same boat recently and bit his lip in concentration as he debated whether now was the time to tell Lulu about September. Looking at her, then to September, he knew that if Lulu cared enough to be here now that he didn't want to keep things from her anymore. Trying to think how best to phrase himself, Joshua took a deep breath before speaking. "Lulu, you know how I told you that September is the one who knows about weird stuff, like demons and how she's all over-protective and she never been sick and..." Get to the point you moron! "...that's because she's an angel" he finished in a rush.
She'd been listening, or reading his lips, partially both. When he got to that last part, she frowned a little bit, then glanced towards the door, then back to Joshua. She signed 'angel'? for him, because she was sure that that was something that shouldn't be overheard by random passersby, but she also wasn't at all sure that she'd read that right from his lips. Because...okay, Unc had mentioned good things too, but still! September? Wait, did that mean Joshua was too?
Joshua nodded, incredibly relieved at Lulu's distinct lack of freaking out. Sure she looked a little unsure but he wasn't gonna hold that against her. "Yep." he said, glancing at September, 'angel' he signed back. "My guardian." he explained, after checking there was no-one hovering near the door.
Blinking at him she looked back over at September, then to Joshua. "Guardian? Um...as in literally your--" She finished entirely in sign. 'Guardian Angel? Seriously? I...wow.' She blinked again, and tried to get past the WOAH! of it all. She smiled. "Lucky you." she added. But then again, she was biased and thought that Joshua deserved a guardian angel, because he was more than worth protecting.
"I don't know whether lucky is the word I'd use." Joshua replied with a wry smile. "I mean, you have met September. She's...intense. Not to mention neurotic but then I suppose I give her reason." he added ruefully, looking at his guardian. Face crumpling, he turned back to Lulu. "This whole thing is my fault." he said quietly, his hands moving into fists.
Lullaby frowned at that. "How on earth is this your fault?" she asked, shaking her head. "Didn't you say she was out and you got called to the hospital? How does that boil down to you being at fault? That's just silly, Joshua." she said, turning on her chair fully to face him, concerned. Self blame wasn't good, especially since she couldn't for the life of her think how he would be the fault of anything like this.
Joshua had never liked to put too much stock in the family curse, sure he was unluckier than most people but he thought he could handle it, that was why he had been so adamant about leaving Ireland. He hadn't asked to have September come with him but the family insisted. Now they were in Marquette, September lying in a hospital bed and he not knowing what to do. And it was all his fault. "It was my choice to come here, this wouldn't have happened if I wasn't so desperate to leave home" he exclaimed. "Bad things happen to me, to my family. It's in the blood - wherever we are, bad luck and misfortune are too. We're cursed!"
Lulu was looking at him with a pained expression. "Joshua, that's still not your fault, you didn't make weird things live here, or..or whatever happened." she protested. Then she paused and stared at him, blinking. "...cursed?" she asked. "You..." she shot a look at the door then finally got up and shut the damn thing before she came back over to Joshua. "Do you mean that kiddingly, or for real?" she asked. God. She hoped it wasn't real. Otherwise, what the hell was the matter with the world? Did she collect cursed boys? Was that her lot in life? That so far, the most important boys ever were both cursed?
Okay, shutting the door a good idea, perhaps he should have done it earlier Joshua reflected before Lulu was back. "It's for real. Wish it wasn't but..." Joshua stopped, seeing how upset Lulu was. "I haven't just screwed things up have I? I mean I can understand if you don't wanna hang around, the last thing I want is for you to get hurt, but...I really want you to stay."
She immediately shook her head. "No no it's not that!" she said, because that was SOOOOO not the thing here. "No, I'm staying, it...I'm not going to take off over something like that. I wouldn't, I...well, I care about you a whole lot, and I wouldn't want to leave you especially over something you couldn't help. I just..." she sighed. "You're not the only person I know who's cursed." she admitted quietly.
Now that was definitely not a response he would have expected and his jaw fell open in suprise. Well that certainly explained her reaction but still, she knew someone else with a curse. He had never known anyone outside of his family to have one and was feeling slightly shell-shocked. Realising his mouth was still open, Joshua quickly closed it with a blush. "Who do you know who's, I mean, can you tell me who it is?"
She fidgeted. "I'm not sure. I wasn't supposed to tell other things, but I'm really really bad at keeping anything from people. The important stuff, I mean. I can keep a secret, no problem, but I can't lie about it. It's someone I'm close to." she answered. "I'll have to ask if I can say. Can I say if you are?" she asked. "And can you tell me about it? The specifics, I mean. I know about the others, there are conditions and stuff. Yours kinda sounds more general though."
Joshua nodded in understanding, he could fully empathise with someone wanting to have that kinda thing cleared with them before having it revealed to an outside party. "Thats fine with me. Maybe me, you and your friend could meet up, trade curse stories." Letting out a small sigh, he rubbed the back of his neck. "No-one really knows when it started but for generations the Barclay family have been plagued with bad luck, cradle to grave bad things just happen. Thats why we have the guardians; September and a couple of her relatives. The theory is that one of my ancestors broke some ancient tradition and pretty much screwed over all descendants there after." He paused, thinking about Lulu's questions. "As far I'm aware thats it, I mean it doesn't cause anything specific to happen. My grandad lived to 89, still bumping into door frames, having walking sticks break under him, ended up dying in his sleep."
"Oh! That's why there's all the child-protection stuff at your house!" Lullaby finally put that together, then blushed a bit. "I mean...well, yeah, that's what I mean. I get it now." she said. She felt vastly better at him saying that he had a grandfather live that long. She'd been starting to worry about more 'I'm going to die young in all probability' speeches which she truly could not take. "Do you know anything to counteract stuff? I don't think there's anything I can do, but I'd like to try to help. If I can." If you want me to.
"Nothing works that we've tried so far" Joshua replied, looking thoughtful, glad to have moved on from the blushing when Lulu mentioned the child-proofing at the apartment. "I mean September's always blessing stuff, including me, but I don't know how much of a difference it makes. It's usually just a case of trying to avoid stuff before it happens. Hence you'll find a lack of breakables at my place. You can imagine the panic when I started moving things with my brain." Smiling, he leant forward and took hold of Lulu's hand, amazed that she was still here and even more amazingly, incredibly cool about everything that had been flung at her. "You really are a billion types of awesome Lulu Draven" he said with a grin.
She was happy with the hand holding thing. It let her get over some of her silly need to want to baby him. So she kept his hand in both of hers, and gave it a squeeze with her good one. A blush flushed her cheeks at the statement he'd made about a billion types of awesome. She was pretty sure that he proved that he was the sweetest boy in the world every time she was around him. Apparently, even under duress. "So are you." she said back, and couldn't help but give him a soft little kiss. He couldn't say stuff like that and not.
Okay, so more blushing, which he could do without, then kissing which was an entirely matter. Kissing could happen any time as far as he was concerned and for a minute he was able to forget what had happened. However the feeling couldn't last, and was broken when a nurse bustled into the room to check September's vitals and quickly bustled out again. "I wish I knew some people other than September who know this stuff" Joshua said, turning back to face the bed. "I doubt normal medicine is gonna be able to do much."
"I'll call Unc...see if he knows anything. Or...well, you know what I mean." Lullaby promised. She took out her phone, actually, and texted Journey.
Hey, need you and Unc for possible information on weird stuff I don't know about. Get back to me. <3
She shut her phone again, then looked back up to Joshua. She then gave him an impulsive hug, and smiled. "It'll be okay." she promised. Every once in a while, people needed to hear that. She knew she did. So for right now, she was going to say it instead. And she'd do everything she could to make sure that was the truth.
