Watching
Who: Thom
Where: His house
When: After dark
Thom sat alone in the darkness, lightly playing chords on his guitar, though most of his attention was focused out of the window he'd sat himself by. The house was dark - it was easier to see the street if he sat in the dark - and he'd angled his chair so he had a clear view of the St James house.
Okay, sure, he was a stalker, but he'd seen the news over the last few days and it was full moon and he and his mother had both decided that whatever was going on, a healthy dose of caution was a plan. So - he was watching. He'd seen Kaysen go in earlier, he'd see if she came out again.
The original plan had been to call Isaac, see if he wanted to hang out, but then Chrissy had gotten in the way. She'd tried to insist earlier at school that they were going out tonight. Thom had flatly told her no for the first time since they'd started 'dating' - there was no way he was leaving Kaysen alone tonight of all nights. He'd used the excuse he didn't intend going out at all. Chrissy had hit the fucking roof - it hadn't been pretty. He was sure the fight that followed would be all over the school the next day - though at least they'd both managed to keep in character. He knew he'd have a whole lot of grovelling to do tomorrow if he was going to keep this going. And he needed to keep this going. He knew it and she knew it - the way she'd flounced off declaring, again, they were all over stated that clearly - he'd seen the look in her eyes when she'd said that.
He was in the shit and he knew it, but he'd take care of it tomorrow. And Chrissy could take care of herself tonight - he had his priorites and she just wasn't it.
